Steve Bourget, an attorney for Phoebe and Elisha DiPietro, has said the October meeting included an update of the investigation and a review of the physical evidence that has been collected. The family was told that DNA discovered in the basement of the Violette Avenue home belonged to Ayla, but it wasn't necessarily blood, Bourget said.
Wow, all of this new information coming out about little Ayla, and she is still way back here in the forums? The latest is that JP took a 160 mile there and back road trip to Portland, ME the morning of Ayla's disappearance before he called 911 to report her missing. I hope there will be justice for little Ayla very soon.
It's Yahoo News, so I can't post the link. I suspect that it will come out in MSM though since it was revealed by Jeff Hanson.
The Tudela family of Winslow has known Ayla’s father, Justin DiPietro, since he was in grade school. They said they don’t believe DiPietro is capable of hurting his daughter, they contend a kidnapping scenario is plausible and they said the public should keep an open mind.
Investigators say a kidnapping did not happen, but Darrell, Heidi and Derek Tudela and DiPietro said they believe Ayla is alive somewhere, and if public opinion grows to exclude that possibility, they believe an abductor could eventually hide the toddler in plain sight.
In a recent interview, the Tudelas and DiPietro also briefly spoke about the discovery of blood in the Waterville home from where Ayla disappeared, and a life insurance policy that the Tudela’s son sold to DiPietro a few months ago.
“I feel like I’m a pretty good judge of character,” Derek Tudela said. “I’ve known Justin for most of my life. He’s been one of my best friends. I know the type of person he is and the integrity he has. It irks me that they make him out to be a bad parent, and that he could have any involvement. I trust Justin with my child any day of the week.”
Justin DiPietro wouldn't speak at length about the discovery of blood. He said police showed him evidence of "a few drops."
"It is a fact that her blood was found in my house. Yes, it is a fact that she broke her arm in my house. But, it is not a fact that any of it was intentional.
"My daughter did not come to her demise down in my house. Nothing bad ever happened to my daughter in my house. She never got anything but love from the people in this house," he said.
From JD himself. Ayla's BLOOD was found in his house. Not anything else the lawyer might be conjuring up. JD stated himself it's her BLOOD.
Notice how he keeps mentioning his HOUSE? Also the weird usage of the word "down" in my house. Maybe she died outside of the house so then he wouldn't really be lying about what happened. Did she die in his truck, in the garage, in the yard, on the porch, on someone else's house?

Oh well. Didn't we get Justin's account of the night through Heidi Tudela at some point? It made no mention of any driving that was done during the night, they went to bed early and woke up to find Ayla missing.
So what could he have been doing in Portland if evidence was thrown in the river in Waterville? Was the gf there for sure Friday evening?
I have read in MSM that there has been no official connection to Ayla on the evidence found in the river. I have also read on social sites from her stepdad that her mom was unable to identify any of those items as belonging to Ayla. They may be, say for instance, items of clothing that were purchased for Ayla by Justin or his mother, and therefore would not be recognizable to Trista. Or they may actually be unrelated.
