Given that Jessica's last known communication mentioned an argument between father and son at their home in Hazel Park, I can't help wondering about the subject of the argument. Might Jessica have been privy to something they didn't want her to know?

Presumably, the father and son have been interviewed by local authorities, but I haven't heard/read anything about the home being searched. Very little media coverage, and I don't recall WDIV (Channel 4) ever covering the case as that is my go-to TV station/website for local news.

I can see this being possible. Perhaps the dad and son were up to no good and the son brought her around at a time she shouldn't have been wherever they were, or she overheard/saw something or the son let something slip in her presence and they did something horrible.

That's what's weird. They know who the son and father are. It would SEEM they been talked to or are in the process of being interviewed and reinterviewed but there has just been zero developments. I can't believe these two would be smart enough to pull off a "perfect" crime. But it also could be a case where the cops have much more than they're letting on and are just waiting for i's to be dotted and t's crossed or a specific set of circumstance/evidence to be found before they pounce on whomever committed a crime.

To send them in the wrong direction?

Yep. Red herring. Something to get attention off of them. They think they can just say the word Detroit, and they'll automatically think the big, bad city "got" her after being dropped off.

Simplistic, but again, you're not dealing with the smartest of people typically, in these situations.

Just saw. Interesting yet very sad. Wonder who or what brought them there. I know it was the area they were searching but always makes me wonder why then or what tip or who finally called it in. The world makes me sick.

Late Tuesday night, Hazel Park police were combing a house at Hazelwood and Woodward Heights in Hazel Park. Crime scene tape was put up around the perimeter of the house.

White's family members say police told them her body was found at the home, unrecognizable.

We're told the home being searched belongs to the 21-year-old's boyfriend. Family and friends tell us both Hazel park and Troy police had previously searched this home.

Hazel Park — The body of a 21-year-old Troy woman, missing for over a week, was found Tuesday night in a Hazel Park home.

An autopsy is scheduled Wednesday at the Oakland County Medical Examiner’s Office for Jessica White, who has been the subject of a search since she failed to return to her mother’s home on April 23 after a late-night visit with a boyfriend in Hazel Park.

Police would not comment on their case early Wednesday and details, including whether anyone was in custody, were not released...

Police have discovered a body at a Hazel Park home that is believed by family members to belong to 21-year-old Jessica White, of Troy, who was last seen at the house on April 23.

Michigan State Police investigators and Hazel Park police have been at the house on Hazelwood and Woodward Heights since Tuesday, according to a report from WDIV. Police have not yet confirmed their findings, but are expected to make an announcement later this morning...

HAZEL PARK, MI – Jessica White was reported missing Saturday afternoon, April 23rd, by her mother.

White had gone out with a friend Friday evening, April 22, 2016. That was the last time her family has spoken to or seen her. White texted her mother early that Saturday morning while visiting a friend’s house in Hazel Park but had not responded to any phone calls since then.

More than likely, Jessica was already dead when her mother went to the home in Hazel Park to ask about her daughter The father and son first denied even knowing Jessica. Later, the young man said he had dropped Jessica off at her home in Troy, then changed his story to dropping her off at 7 Mile and John R in Detroit. Something hinky about the father and son tales :stormingmad:

Per WWJ Radio (CBS, Detroit): The body of the deceased woman confirmed to be Jessica White who had been missing since April 23. Suspect in custody is male friend, Jordan Maclanahan, 24, of Hazel Park.

HAZEL PARK, Mich. - Hazel Park police said a 23-year-old man has admitted to being involved in the death of a 21-year-old Troy woman and storing her body in his attic.

Jessica White had been missing since April 23. According to Crime Stoppers, which had been offering a $2,500 reward, White's last communication with her family was a text message she sent to her mother at 2:45 a.m. that day...

Man Arrested in Murder of 21 yr old Troy Woman: HAZEL PARK, MI – Jordan McClanahan walked into the Troy Police Department on Tuesday night where he let authorities know where they could find the body of the missing 21-year-old Troy woman.

The suspect told detectives Jessica White’s body could be found in the attic of his home. White had been missing since Saturday, April 23rd, 2016.

Hazel Park and Troy police had visited the home twice before being told where they could find the woman’s body, including a search of the house, but found nothing.

Hazel Park police said the suspect admitted he had White’s body stored in an attic space connected to his bedroom. Police said the homeowner, McClanahan’s father, originally denied that he or his son knew White.

Karen Black, Jessica White’s mother, has stated her daughter was not romantically involved with McClanahan.

Jordan McClanahan, 23-years-old, of Hazel Park, had known White since grade school, according to family.

After police located the woman’s body they told family members that she was unrecognizable.

McClanahan is expected to face murder charges. If convicted, he could spend the rest of his life behind bars.

The body was found wrapped and hidden in an attic space next to a man's bedroom in Hazel Park, a roofline storage area inside the bungalow.

Jordan McClanahan, 23, was arrested and is suspected of murder.

Police had previously been to the home during the search.

Police had previously spoken with McClanahan while searching for White, and he'd said he dropped her off at 7 Mile and John R. In Detroit.

A 21-year-old Troy woman whose decomposing body was found today wrapped and hidden in an attic space of a Hazel Park home died of strangulation, an autopsy showed.

Without releasing further details, Hazel Park Police Chief Martin Barner said Jessica Leigh White was killed with some type of ligature.
