They need to find her body! I just could not imagine those poor kids going back to their father because this case goes cold. I think we all know he would keep them from Jacque's family and how would he explain her disappearance to them. I hope her body is found real soon.

Snip:

Police say they have received a small number of calls from people in different parts of the country who reported seeing Jacque Waller alive.
In some cases, the callers left insufficient information to follow up, said Jackson police chief James Humphreys. In other cases, police made inquiries that led them to believe the information was false, he said.
But they're not investigating the case under the assumption that Jacque Waller disappeared of her own accord. They have said they suspect foul play and named her husband, Clay Waller, a person of interest in the case. Clay Waller remained incarcerated Wednesday on charges unrelated to his wife's disappearance.
"She had no reason just to walk away from her life," Humphreys said. "At this point, I think it's highly unlikely she will be found alive."
Lt. David James with the Cape Girardeau County Sheriff's Department said he was not even aware that there were Jacque Waller sightings other than a few local ones.
But he doesn't believe she walked away, either. "I would say I'm 99.999 percent sure that's not what happened," James said.
Totally agree with LE. I cannot imagine Jacque leaving her children behind.......and for what?

I feel the same about the reported sightings as I do about the discovery of the business cards. After what you shared about the river tbeldon, I fear Jacque may never be found.

CW is out on bail from the theft charges and the prosecution has declared him a "suspect" in his wife's disappearance!

In court Tuesday morning, the assistant prosecutor called Clay Waller a suspect in Jacque Waller's disappearance.
Waller, facing a judge Tuesday on charges of fraud and harassment, had his bond reduced.
His attorney, Scott Reynolds, says he is working with Clay's family to find him a bail bondsman.
But, as assistant prosecuting attorney Angel Woodruff argued to keep Waller behind bars, she referred to him as a suspect in his wife's disappearance.

"You are to have no contact with any of the people in any potential investigation," Thomsen said. "You know who they are. This has been very public. If I hear any allegation of that, you're going to be sitting back in jail with a high bond."

Being named a suspect is allot stronger than simply being called a POI. Is arrest eminent?

Cape Girardeau County Assistant Prosecuting Attorney Angel Woodruff told the judge before his ruling that Waller is a flight risk because he is the focus of the investigation into Jacque Waller's disappearance.

"You can consider anything," Woodruff told Thomsen. "He is a suspect in this case."

Waller's attorney, Scott Reynolds, interjected, saying: "You mean a person of interest?"

"A suspect," Woodruff responded, more forcefully.

Police investigators have repeatedly called him a person of interest. Jacque Waller has been missing since June 1 and police have said they suspect foul play.

Wowzer! This DA is confident. Smells like evidence to me!

The way a detective friend of ours explained it to me is that LE names a suspect only when and if they have enough evidence to arrest and charge the person, and enough to at least have a prayer of winning at trial.

He said the reason they don't immediately arrest in those circumstances is because every DA wants enough evidence that they can be confident of winning the case at trial.

So, they'll name a person as a suspect, and they're prepared that if the person tries to run, they'll arrest and charge them. But what they're waiting for otherwise is to collect more evidence to increase that confidence level of a successful prosecution, which is what we want them to do - we don't want perps walking free.

So... when I see a named suspect, personally, I am fully convinced the person committed the crime.

Good job, LE and DA!

These articles have been updated since I posted the links...CW is not out on bond yet as of the lastest updates from KFVS12 & the Southeast Missourian.

But sounds like right back in again on federal charges:

"The charge came the same day that Waller posted bond on his state charges of stealing and harassment, though he was never released, said Lt. David James of the Cape Girardeau County Sheriff's Department. James said Waller was no longer at the county jail, but he did not know where the marshals were holding him."

Wow! He keeps messing up and LE seems to be keeping the heat on him. The bad thing about this is if he gets just a light sentence he gets time served so he might not do any real time at all.

At least LE has him in custody for one thing or another. Hopefully someday it will be for Jacque's murder......however, at least some progress is being made as he is at least now a "suspect".

This is true. I just wish they could find Jacque and evidence!

This case is beginning to remind me of Rachael Anderson. Her husband is the only POI in her disappearance and the last to see her alive. He is currently in federal prison on an unrelated charge. She went missing 17 months ago, LE still has not found her body.

You are definitely not alone and thankfully there is no statute of limitations on murder.

It is interesting how they often seem to hide bodies so well that remains cannot be found.

You are so right. I honestly believe if we did searches just about anywhere in fields, streams, Kudzoo, forests, along interstates we would find bodies. Maybe not the one we were looking for though. Lets hope someone finds Jacque!
