My sister lives near there and she was stuck at home with an ice storm that weekend. It started on Friday night just a little bit, but hit really hard Saturday and Sunday. School was cancelled on Monday for a lot of areas. In fact, it was pretty bad from Des Moines all the way down to southwest MO, where I live.

Was it actually icing or was she like me where I made everyone hunker down at home because there was supposed to turn to ice at any time?

The Snapshot device collects information about how you drive, how much you drive and when you drive. It also collects your vehicle identification number and triggers an email to you if it comes unplugged. Some devices collect location data: this is only for research and development purposes—we don't use it to calculate your rate.

If your device stops working or comes unplugged, you'll get an email alert, along with details on what to do next.

Sadly I know how it works because I caught my boyfriend saying he was in one place when he was really at another. Then eventually he unplugged it and I got an email several days later saying it was removed.

That's good to know.

Both her and the BF seem like scammers. She might suddenly reappaer after the has reached a new cap.

That's an interesting theory. I wonder how accurate that GPS thingy is? And did it specifically transmit that it was being unplugged?

The reason I ask is because: is it possible she was near her destination and pulled into some underground parking? That could also potentially prevent the device from transmitting its location.

I looked into your idea and discovered only two parking areas listed publicly anyways. One was an open lot just marked "Car Storage" on Google Maps. The other was a more concealed parking area that looked like a pay-to-park place. They both seem less likely than the storage unit the next block over. They are 9-10 miles away by my estimate.

It rained/iced the entire weekend and didn't get sunny until Monday during the day, around noon, I believe.

In addition to what I wrote here, did her mom say they got an alert that the device was removed or that they just couldn't track her past a certain time? Mine took days to say it was removed.

Some phones are waterproof from 6 to 10 feet now as well.

Right. I was wondering the same thing. Looking at the map for areas big enough to hide a car, i.e. with large garage doors, I found a couple car places, a mostly outdoor lot surrounded by red fencing with a partially covered overhang, and the storage place in the area. Based on your idea, I am going to check for other parking areas/garages right now.

Also, if anyone else wants to get involved, you could check some of these area businesses' FB pages or websites to see if you uncover any connections. I've also found a few other profiles by searching her work name "Vanity Rayne."

Like the argosy casino/hotel? where you can find reports in the past of large scale drug rings doing transactions there?

It's also on the edge of the river and has quite a few industrial-esque type businesses there, like a paving company. Also some auto body shops.

Does anyone else think her boyfriend seems relaxed when interviewed? Not worried sounding?

Here's another one about where she lives.

I was about to comment that. YouTube has plenty of videos of modern phones functioning underwater. I've seen the iPhone 7 go over 30 minutes with no issues.

This video indicates that 1 hour wasn't even going to be likely under water. From social media, we could tell she had a iphone 6 plus i believe

So... I'm just saying, I don't think that phone was underwater, thus one of my reasons for thinking the car in the river was likely. Plausible that it could happened, but unless the phone wasn't in the car, not probable.

If it was functional till 9:30, wasn't likely in the river.

However, I am still in favor of checking the QT bathroom toilet tank for her phone in a plastic bag.

Yes. Exactly like that. How far away is that? Any airports nearby?

She had an iPhone 6 Plus. Not waterproof. Besides, high frequency radio waves do not travel through water very well. I highly doubt that even a waterproof phone would connect underwater.

What about the S 7th Street bridge across the Kansas river? Maybe the device stopped working, maybe it was damaged and the phone wasn't??

I'm inclined to agree, but I will note that I know someone who did their persuasive speech for a class on waterproof phones. He placed the phone in a tank at the beginning of the speech, gave the speech and took questions, pulled it out, and it worked fine. I don't think a phone tossed into a river has a big chance to working hours, but it's technically possible I suppose?

Thank you.

I think server is all that's in MSM. However, she has SM posts re:stripping. For example, she pointed out that people think strippers make a lot of money but she has to pay to dance. It's my opinion she probably did both dancing and serving. I don't think it's her "full time" job though.

Maybe it took a while for the water to fully submerge the phone inside the car?

It's just minutes west of QT.

Airports to both north and south of the QT.

I haven't seen any reports about them checking airport surveillance.
