It's possible she was at the ATM trying to get a stash of cash for some reason, like an extended road trip.

Or it was at the pump and simply for the sake of convenience. If she wanted a fill, then that's hard to pay for in cash, assuming that you have to prepay.

I don't think anyone confirmed it was an ATM machine. My guess she had cash but it's a heck of a lot easier to pay at pump with debit. Card at pumps are notorious to decline. Type in wrong zip code , hit red instead of green button, pumps not working so you retry . I do believe if they have not stated it was an ATM machine it was pay at pump.

I don't know why I did not notice this before but at the traffic stop her and the police officer are coming from the west facing east. That would be the opposite way of where she was originally coming from.

The reports never said escorted, someone here has made that up. The reports were the officer directed her to the gas station and he watched from across the street she drove to QT and got gas and left. These exact words came from the chief of police. From a distance you can only assume someone got gas, I haven't seen any report from QuikTrip stating what she purchased or didn't purchase. So either the LE is holding this evidence or they haven't looked into it.

That is not correct.

Investigators say a North Kansas City officer pulled over Toni's 2014 Ford for an illegal lane change early that Sunday morning. The officer gave Anderson a warning, then escorted her to a QuikTrip to get gas.

Idk. Maybe to let the public know that they care about their workers.

Especially if its possible that a unknown patron may have been obsessed and followed her.

Idk.

Like that psycho who kept Facebook messaging her over a period of a couple of months (she had a screenshot of the messages on her Twitter). I'm not sure if he's been cleared or if people have just forgotten about him...

Your comment just gave off the vibe that you thought the employers are in the wrong for not offering a reward, but there isn't a reason they should. Its not a chain that I know of, they probably don't have a bunch of money to throw around, just for one employee who went missing

I was just saying that hopefully the other young dancers realize that their job doesn't protect you from gross men that may follow you , once you leave the building.

So be careful. Jmo

What the heck is going on in KC?

the recent arrests in NJ's missing Sarah Stern's case reminds me that there is a lot that is not released or reported on and that LE continues to work behind the scenes. Out of the blue in Sarah's case there is a story and 2 arrests, after most folks had given up and thought she had committed suicide or run off. So I hold onto that hope here too - that there is a lot we don't know yet.

Also a lifehack from my broke days: you can try selecting "prepay with debit" if your card declines the card the initial time. If you just insert the card it runs as credit and does a preauth amount. Some pumps have a prepay debit only option and many times I got lucky selecting this. If I knew I had only 10 dollars in my account, I'd get less than $10 worth of gas and be on my way. (It was hit or miss though and I'd know which station let me do this)

The reporting has been all over the place, unfortunately. I've tried to decipher certain facts of this case, and this is one of them. It kinda looks like the family said her ATM card was declined twice. "ATM card" = "debit card." I think reports of her trying to use the ATM are just assumptions, which may or may not actually be true.

It's frustrating how we never get the complete facts. Was there money in the account, or not? Was it at the pump or the ATM? We don't know.

I don't know how to bold yet. But when I first opened my second bank account for the first 3 months I could only have an ATM card. Which I could only use in an ATM, it wouldn't work if I tried to swipe to pay for groceries or internet purchases or anything like that. Then once I passed my trial period I received a debit card which I could use everywhere. Just throwing that out there. It could have literally been an ATM card which is why they said that. But everything given to us is so vague, I don't know! This thread moves to quickly for me to post often but I've been lurking away [emoji16]

Interesting. I didn't know they had ATM-only cards. That would totally make sense, then, why she was assumed to be using the ATM.

Given that she probably already had cash from work, then, that tends to support the road trip theory, or possibly a drug buy, if it were big enough.

It's weird to me that it was a family ATM card. Seems like it would only be for special usage, like maybe tuition. Perhaps she selected it by mistake.

Yeah I didn't know either until I switched to Langley Federal, but it definitely helps you save money! I was always to lazy to go to the ATM. I also hate cash lol

Where was it reported that it was a family ATM card that she was using? Thanks!

I thought that the unsafe lane change might have been a mid-block U-turn. I don't think we know exactly what LE stopped her for.
