Kelli did not live in a vacuum. Surely she had Army friends whom she talked to. I wonder what she may have said at work about her weekend plans? Usually people do chit chat on Friday afternoons about what their weekend plans are.

This whole NH and Froggy Bottoms thing is kind of hinky to me. If NH had shot pool with Kelli and 'her male friend' as NH called him, then did he get her cell number that night or what? How did he know how to get in touch with her again? NH said something in an interview (IIRC) about how he'd asked Kelli if she was married and she just said "It's complicated." I'd like to know when the Friday night plan with NH picking Kelli up to go to Froggy Bottoms came up.

Also, if NH was homeless, did he pay the $28.00 bar tab or did Kelli use her debit card to pay? I have a reason for asking.

MOO

From what I'm able to find in online searches it seems to be only Nick that mentioned those articles of clothing. Make of it what you will. Once again, who really knows at this point?

The ABC reporter mentioned them at the end of his clip when Nick was first interviewed. He was standing outside of police headquarters. He said that they found the khaki pants and that linked Nick to the pond. I do not recall if he said where they were found.

Just FYI on the police chief not being from around here comment.

A lot of cops from the north are told by their psychologist that they've seen too much and need to go to smaller more rural towns. (I live in a small southern town, a lot of our police are like this). It slows the pace for them a bit.

I do not consider Fayetteville a small town by any stretch. He may have been previous Army (he has that look, I don't know), and wanted to stay there.

If he went to Fayetteville to find an area with less crime, he made a mistake, IMO.

Plus why wouldn't he burn his clothes? He had two days to do it.

Because hes not the sharpest crayon in the box. moo :what: I really dont know what to think about him. I really think LE has something though. If text were sent they are on that. moo

Froggy Bottom's is a cash only bar with an ATM located inside. I do not believe Pointdexter keeps records of tabs once they are cleared. My guess is the tab was unpaid.

If the husband did not return to NC after Kelli went missing... then they were most likely separated at that time. Otherwise, he would have raced back there to search for his loved one. Red flag.

We heard earlier that he was asked by LE to not come and to not say anything to the press.

Was the bar crowded on Friday night? Did the bar dude pick up Kelli on previous nights out? Or drive her home on prior nights?Did they ever go swimming in the pond? Why is everyone reluctant to state wether Kelli and her husband are separated? The town has nothing to offer him, so not surprised if he did move back to Florida. But, very convenient to be visiting family.....

It was stated earlier that there were something like 20 people at the bar Friday night. We don't know if Nick ever picked Kelli up before or drive her home. It is unlikely that the ever went swimming in the pond, they only met a few weeks ago. While we have warm days, it is not swimming season. Also people don't generally go swimming in the ponds around here.

There is definitely something strange about the status of the marriage.

Why would you say that the town has nothing to offer him? There are probably just as many opportunities here in NC as there are where he lived in Florida.

Thank you, VOH.

Let's not forget that some of the information the police have received from tips may not be accurate either. I think once they talk to everyone who was at the bar, they will have a much clearer picture.

Good point! I think it's easy to believe we're sleuthing when what really is happening is a bunch of speculating based on what may be inaccurate media reports. The only real investigating is that which is being conducted by the FPD. Until something official is said, it's just spittin' in the wind guessing.

I think its obvious that she did not know he was a RSO, its not something that offenders offer up, most times they fly under the radar on this. The fact that many did not know he lived behind the bar on the DOT land, she probably thought he was a down to earth average acquaintance. I cannot see if he was a regular at the bar and if she frequented the bar, why she would not ask him for a ride. I just wonder if he picked her up from her apt or elsewhere when driving her.

However I keep going over it in my mind, At that hour of night, why would she care if he brought her home. If she felt safe enough with Nick for him to drive her to the bar, and to get into the car with him to drive her home, there is no reason I can think of that she would want to be dropped at the entrance and not at her door.

The only thing that I could think of is that she may have gotten a text that her husband was in town, but once again, that is only speculation on my part. And also why she would need to be dropped off before they drove into the apartment complex.

I came to the same conclusion.

I swear I read that Nick was sleeping in his vehicle and not his tent but where did I read it? It's now driving me crazy lol. Sorry VOH I actually thought you had stated that.

Just wanted to add that my son was stationed at Pope Air Force Base in Fayetteville. The Army Post and Air Force Base are basically side by side, divided only by a check point. It was a nightmare to get in and out of there.
My son really hated Fayetteville. He said it was a very crime-ridden place and he found it tough to get oriented to the area.
I'm sure its a nice place overall...but I can see the husband having a tough time getting adjusted.

About who paid the bar tab, please see article I just posted above (post #355). They state the amt. of the bill but not how or who or if it was paid.

VOH ~ Did you ever find the article that mentions the number of people at the bar and the amount of the bar tab? Here it is:

http://www2.nbc17.com/news/2012/apr...h-i-295-part-missing-ft-bragg-sol-ar-2177564/

It doesn't explain if the bill was paid or not only that the amt. was $28.

Thank you. I was just wondering where the number came from. Pointdexter himself was not present at the bar that night. I am going to assume he was given this number by someone else.
