I honestly think we should find out who was the last person she spoke to OUTSIDE of her residence, and what time. Texts and emails are not good enough, we need voice recognition. That van could have been dumped overnight. I would not rule any possibility out just yet.
I answered my own question about who. I didn't learn 'when' though. Sounds like her friend in TX was it, and LE was able to extract phone texts off her phone to help in the search for Sara. The friend made her FB page public, so you can easily do a search on other forums like justice quest to find links and comments to learn more on your own.

Things are pretty hush hush in the media. I hope that means they are on to something.

(So weird/never ceases to amaze me how supposed "friends" on fb don't even post a flyer or comment re: their missing "friend"... jmo)

(Note to go back and look at those RSOs again)

Hi Margarita, it may not be anything but coincidence, but I found an offender that lived on McDonald, which if I remember correctly is the road that the van was found off of.

And dumped within a period of under 6 hours. That is not a lot of time between her leaving, and her vehicle being dumped (compared to other cases, sometimes cleanup/vehicle dumping occurs the next day or later) jmo.

So, the maximum that they could have traveled would be 3 hours each way? Am I thinking about this correctly?

She's got to be fairly close?

Unless he grabbed her, zip tied her in his trunk, and then left her there while he dumped the van. In that case he could have gone as far as he wanted. Which makes me think dumped beside I95 the way so many other victims have been :( I really really hope I'm wrong...

Yikes. Didn;t think about that. :(

I was thinking about the zip tie thing though, because that's exactly what ARS did to Jessica, as you know. :( (B@stard, sick F@#k)

Hi EmmaRose

There are many other RSOs in the greater vicinity as well. As usual, these maps light up like Christmas trees:
http://www.homefacts.com/offenders/North-Carolina/Robeson-County.html

Not to mention all the creepo pervs who are not even registered...

I wonder if all these rsos have been required to give dna yet. In Jessica's case, they went door to door and swabbed all of them, even before her body was found...they also returned to search their homes and question them several times...I would assume and hope LE is doing this...

I am just thinking someone wants us to believe she ran off with another person. Staging the vehicle to create a lot of mystery, perhaps.

The more I think about this, this scenario makes sense to me.

Carbuff, can you elaborate more on the "I95" thing, as far as the other dumpings you mention? Sorry I missed this...

Jumping off your post, I've been meaning to mention, that as a police officer's daughter, she would knoooooowwwww that they would really be looking for her, processing the vehicle, etc; so in other words, I guess what I'm trying to say is that IF she voluntarily took off, she would think to really really cover her tracks, kwim...fwiw...

Possibly the reason LE is not giving out information is because Sara's Dad is one of their own. I know where I live an Officer was killed because he knew the second he entered headquarters that he was going to be arrested (this was for molesting his own daughter). Being armed himself and trained, extra precautions had been taken to prevent anyone from getting harmed, however, he pulled his weapon... the rest is history. It was really ugly in a small town.

If I sound skeptical, it is just that I am surrounded by LE in my family and living in small towns when something like this happens it is Hugely Shocking!!!

(FTR, you guys might be wondering why I posted that link upstream about the body found in the trunk when it clearly stated it was male...I was having tech difficulties and couldn't type/comment at the time so posted the link to mark my spot...the reason was for reference, sometimes seemingly unrelated crimes can be related to each other, especially if the perp(s) is on some sort of drug induced spree, or in a desperate state, to change vehicles for example, or also, if one person is a witness to something/part of something...anyway, just wanted to say that lol, that, especially when you are desperate for clues, any kind of clue, you'll look at anything and everything....jmo)

I think it was made to look that way.

Can you post more of your thoughts on this Han? :) Are you saying you are thinking that maybe this was staged to look like an abduction? Tia.

I am open to discussing all theories...I think this case can go in any direction and I think we have a good group here to jump off each other's posts...

What happened to this young lady?

Han, yes, or make it look like that was what happened. I don't see anything to rule that out.

Margarita25, I didn't mean anything specific related to a theory. Just that the van was dumped very close to I-95 and it runs all the way from Maine to the Florida Keys. Over the years there have been many murder victims, both identified and known, found beside the highway or just off it.

In this scenario, it would be so random to find the van back where she was coming from. But hey, it's worth considering her being abducted while parking.... but then cameras would have picked it up. How's that for back and forth thinking in one sentence? o.O

Often cars / items are dumped in opposite directions, as red herrings, as mentioned earlier...but you make an interesting point...if this was a random abduction, and she was intercepted closer to her workplace, the perp(s) might not even know from which direction she originally traveled from...

From the way the search was conducted, you could draw the conclusion that Sara drove down a road that had very little traffic. It looks like the van was moved to a wide open intersection that received much more traffic and then placed in that field where it would be seen.

Indeed, carbuff...O/T, I am reminded of Britannee Drexel's case, where her phone passed several towers and pinged within a short period of time over a large distance, indicating she (or at least her phone) was traveling in a vehicle.

I remember reading a stat somewhere stating how often a body is found a few feet from the road...

Ok, I'm liking this train of thought, that the vehicle was meant to be found...interesting...:) (or maybe not necessarily hidden by going to great lengths...)
Or maybe if there is a perp involved, he was in a hurry, careless, or didn't even care if the car was found...
Maybe he lacked resources/time to efficiently hide the vehicle...
Might this indicate a less experienced perp(s), if considering an abduction?

(Someone methed out, who maybe had been "partying" all night...robbery motive??)
(That doesn't quite makes sense I don't think...robbing someone in an Astro Van, meaning it does not necessarily advertise wealth imo...)
