I am just thinking someone wants us to believe she ran off with another person. Staging the vehicle to create a lot of mystery, perhaps.
I'm in this camp. I also think her vest will suddenly be found.

Possibly the reason LE is not giving out information is because Sara's Dad is one of their own. I know where I live an Officer was killed because he knew the second he entered headquarters that he was going to be arrested (this was for molesting his own daughter). Being armed himself and trained, extra precautions had been taken to prevent anyone from getting harmed, however, he pulled his weapon... the rest is history. It was really ugly in a small town.

If I sound skeptical, it is just that I am surrounded by LE in my family and living in small towns when something like this happens it is Hugely Shocking!!!
My initial reaction was to feel sorry for the dad. And I do. But he works with this stuff, and he knows how to act in front of others to appear uninvolved. I'm not accusing, but I think no stone should go unturned. :(

If she broke down, maybe a wrecker or tow truck driver stopped to help her (among other possible persons)....but if she called a wrecker, her phone records would reflect this...

Maybe her battery was dead and she couldn't call for help, whatever happened to her...(or she could not get reception)...maybe she forgot her charger?

As I understand it, there has not been information in msm saying her car might have had any problems/damage...?

In fact, they explicitly reported that the vehicle was in perfect running order. And about not reporting the color, maybe they figured that since it was found - launching the search, they didn't need to describe it. Just a guess.

I think it would be vital to know the exact location of the van, which side of the road it was on, and which way it was facing to come up with any substantial theories.

When you look on the maps, there is a finger of tree line that meets the road, then crosses. Perhaps the van was found there, and not way up 100' into a field. Those would be important details.

That, however, would require someone to drive him back. Not out of the question, just makes it more complicated.

Depending on where he was when he accosted her, it might have been a short enough distance that he could walk. For instance, if he blocked her car at the intersection, it would only be a few hundred feet.

Hm. If the car was parked near the trees, maybe it was so he could get back to his own car without being noticed?

My dad and sister are part of a neighboring tribe which is located in SC. Many Lumbee and PeeDee Indians are related by marriage. I just say this because the people locally think this is either related to the dad being in LE, or general crime within that geographic area. No one seems to have any info, and this is odd because the gossip vine is usually rampant when something happens. Generally, everyone knows something about everyone, but no one seems to know anything about Sara. Prayers are out for Sara and her family,

Thanks for this great local information. I so hope LE knows more in hopes for her well being, and my thoughts and prayers too go out to her family, friends and community.

Ok, what about this, her car breaks down/is running funny, her phone doesn't work, she grabs all her stuff, locks her car up and starts walking...maybe her car just overheated or something, and starts right back up when LE starts it, so maybe they don't know she ever had car trouble..

~~~margarita25, thank you, for your whirl of thinking Sara's welfare through, so intensely and well with the WSers on this thread. You're all just awesome.
"Sealey said, no matter how insignificant it may seem" to "call Lt. Ritchie Adams at 910-671-3100." here BBM
This is such a puzzle, I hope anyone who remembers Sara, her White Astro Van, possibly the people around her know to and do call LE.
Sara left at least law enforcement believes she did but they don't have proof. Her father has been telling her he won't be mad if she just comes home. Then later he won't be mad if she just lets him know she's okay. But Sara hasn't communicated with her father.
Now the Sheriff is saying they are all hoping and praying that Sara is okay.
“We’re hoping that she’s left with friends and just hasn’t told anybody,” he said.
Hope is all they have until they hear from Sara and I definitely hope they're right.
Or maybe even, that's where the get away car was already parked. Although, her purse is missing. I don't know what to think about that.
Are there reservations out there? Would someone take a sweet girl back there and keep her? Could they get away with that? Would it be supported?
I believe they have sovereign rights within the state of North Carolina.
That's been the problem with this for me. All the things you would do for a personal abduction are the same things that person would do if they were just leaving, and leaving everything behind. Like I'm mad and I'm getting the hell out of here. Still you would take the things that would make it look like you were leaving for work.
I know reservations have their own rules and LE, and that state and fed LE has no jurisdiction. But within the reservation community itself, would others residing there support acts of abduction and servitude?
That thought just goes beyond anything that occurs to me. I do not know the answer.
I don't think the Lumbee have a reservation that is sovereign, and immune to LE. I could be wrong, but either way, it's really a small community, regardless of the population. IMO, someone would talk if Sara was being hidden among them. I keep going back to thinking this isn't a Lumbee tribe issue, it's either voluntary, retaliation against LE, or random violence. The Lumbee are the kind of people that everyone is family, whether you are related through marriage or have mutual friends, or know someone who is family. Either way, if something happened within the community, someone would talk by now, IMO. I don't know the answer either, but a lot of people are praying for a good outcome for this young lady.
Give me your best thoughts on this because I'm going to talk to the police.
ETA: What do you think happened?
I am an optimist. I think she left on her own. She doesn't fit the risk factors yet for anything else, IMO. Maybe I just pray that's it. I just want to see a found safe next to her name. I see a lot of fb pages for others in that area, and she is the complete opposite. Otherwise, I would say check closer to home.
I agree.
They really needed to disclose it including a picture, in my opinion, because people don't remember seeing a person in a van. They remember seeing the van and the color is obviously significant.
Thank you. Sounds like we have at least one scenario we can rule out. :)
