Greetings!
Quick Intro: I stumbled upon WS sometime after the ABC Primetime special about Janet's case. (It caught my attention because we went to the same college and I saw her around campus. We didn't run in the same circle of friends, she was an athlete, I was a theater major but occasionally our paths crossed and she always had a smile and seemed very kind and level headed. Just a nice person.) I first heard of her death a few months after she was killed. I remember thinking how awful it must have been for Raven to come home and find her like that. Years after that I saw the TV special and wasn't sure what to think. I went online and read everything I could find (hence stumbling across WS) and watched the NC Wanted interview that Raven did. It was that interview that sort of hit home that something was 'off' about him. (Not that Vanessa's side of things didn't tell me that already, from Primetime, but his side wasn't really presented ... so the NC Wanted video filled in the gaps for me). I was relieved to hear he was arrested in 2010 and have been following the coverage of the trial for the last three weeks. I am really hoping and praying that the jury will be able to put all of the pieces together (but I am worried that it only takes one person to doubt his guilt to end with a hung jury).
Did I hear correctly that they found a hard drive with Martin Marietta info on it? Where was that located? Because in my mind that puts a spin on things. Hypothetically, Raven could have gotten Janet to help with his Embezzlement scheme at EuroSport. I think he was very frightening and very controlling ... and it was testified by someone earlier that she told her boss, I think, that Raven had planned on bringing checks a few at a time to pay for the shipments he'd ordered. Ask yourself, who would process those checks into the system or pass them along to the person that had that type of access? Janet was his 'in' in the accounting department. (I do not think she would have done anything illegal on purpose, that she knew about it all up front, but she may have taken the checks - had he followed through on his word - and quietly put them into the system ... so that he could avoid going to jail and that her son wouldn't have his father locked up.) She might not have liked it but she may have seen it as him trying to atone for doing something so dumb in the first place. (Again, this is all theory).
As far as I know, her last job was with Martin Marietta Materials. They're tied into Locheed Martin. LM is a defense contractor. (I have a relative that used to work for that company in a different state). They've built tanks and missiles and all sorts of weaponry. Remember that Janet told him "I can't do this again"? What if he was pressuring her to help him purchase items from Martins so he could sell them on the side? (Not saying he's a weapons dealer wannabe but am saying if he had manipulated her once into helping him try and cover something up, maybe he tried to do it again, he doesn't seem to learn from his mistakes). And maybe this time she said no.
Sorry for rambling (and lack of proper paragraphing).
