Although a sexual crime is the most common scenario suggested on this forum, I myself think there's ample reason to also include just a murder (not sex crime) in the possible scenarios. I have a third suspect that I am not allowed to name who I would have a lot of questions for if I were LE.
Too many possibilities here for me to be convinced of any one particular scenario. I wish we could start hearing more evidence!!!!

I agree.

To be clear, I was not advancing that nonsense as a theory.

I sort of remember something like that...

However, and obviously we have no way of knowing at this point, being a special education student does not preclude you from being on the honor roll in most schools, and, in fact, can help you get there which bothers many people...

Not to get too far o/t but special ed students have Individual Education Plans with accommodations and modifications, which can and usually do, in my experience, include grading accommodations...so, in fact, what an A or B may represent can be progress toward a goal, or accomplishment of an IEP goal...

Anyway, as I said, we really don't know and as far as I'm concerned if she were developmentally delayed in any way it would just be one more factor in the vulnerability of her position in the household and in society in general (if that makes sense)...

These two list Celina on the honor roll.

http://www.colebrookchronicle.com/Dec3.pdf Also Page 9 but under Education at the top. Her sister is on that one too.

What is your source for that info? The latest post I can find on his Facebook page was on 7/18 at 10:29 am, a full week before Celina went missing. Thanks.

I have a print screen of his page as of 10:02 pm on 7/27 and the "i live in canaan vermont" posting on someone's wall is listed under his recent activity. I did not go to the page it was posted on.

I'm on the east coast, was logged when I viewed it, and in the same time zone. The 9:11 AM was spot on.

I am glad to know this because I remember the other case referred to and it was quite confusing!

Crazy stuff...My DH's Grandfather perished in that flood (a gazillion years ago) & fyi, my son studied that flood this past year in 5th grade...as a "have to", part of the curriculum at his school, nothing to do with our personal interest in it.

I just last week finished an excellent book about the subject Johnstown Flood McCullough, David (author). Excellent book (my second on the subject)

I agree.

To be clear, I was not advancing that nonsense as a theory.

So in your opinion, the theory that Celina may have been the victim of a sex crime is NONSENSE? Really? I would bet that the majority of dead little girls on this board were victims of a sex crime. The rest were most likely pawns in a custody dispute or victims of a family murder suicide.

Just popping in to see if there were any new developments and I haven't caught up yet, so I just wanted to answer this since I was the one who posted about the FB and initiated it.

Yes, posting to random chicas after he knew Celina was missing. The source of this information was that most of us who were here in the beginning couple days saw it on his facebook. I think that if you go back to thread one, maybe two (I wasn't posting yet on the first day, I don't think, but it was being discussed by the second day when I was, I am certain) a bunch of us looked at his facebook and he had posted at 9:11 am "i live in Canaan VT" failure to cap the "i" included, on one of the girl's pages. I don't remember the name of the girl, but it looked like one of this other...honeys. He claims that he found she was missing between 8 and 830 that am and the post was from 9:11 am that day.

When you clicked on the actual post, it took you to a looooooooooong string of comments on his post and then when you read the comments, it was a ton of people all saying that he was a perv and should have been out looking for Celina. To my knowledge, he has not been back on his facebook since this happened, and if he has been he has been doing everything privately. The friends on his fb friends list have been dropping like flies. Because of the lack of activity and the fact that he never made it private, some of us, myself included, speculate that the girl who had this on her wall, with all of the comments didn't want it there and deleted it and possibly was one of the people who dropped him as a friend.

ETA: Lots of things have dropped off of there, and I assume it is because as these people have been deleting him they also delete the posts. There was more recent activity before the one from a week before she was gone, but as his friend count has dropped, less activity has been showing.

Just wondering why he said he lived in Canaan VT. Didn't he live in NH? tia

Didn't know they had found a bag near where Celina's body was eventually found - this may be old news though.

On Sunday afternoon, as the Fish and Game dive team was searching Back Pond, one diver was directed to go to the area where Cass' body was ultimately found to check out a bag. For at least an hour after that, no one entered the water and it was not clear whether a dive took place in that area that day.

During Monday's media briefing, Young said the dive team had been planning to examine that area of the Connecticut River.

Wonder what kind of bag they found.

Ot: It was 1936, so I apologize for making light and saying a gazillion years ago. I don't mean to minimize your DH's Grandfathers passing.

Pennsylvanian's have been robbed for years when it comes to the Johnstown Flood. I don't think that the kids should be force to study it, but I do believe that it's quite a bit of interesting history and that the citizens should be aware of what happened and what continues today. Not sure how the state has been able to legally get away with this for as long as they have, as I have not studied it that intensely. Maybe it's just people in general don't realize it's there and so there isn't any push back.

Okay guys, I'm off my soap box. Sorry!!!!!

I questioned this also. Canaan, from my understanding is about 5 seconds away. He is from there and graduated from a school with that name. Some speculate that he says that because it is a more recognizable area. I don't know. I know that sometimes I do tell people who are not close that I am from Virginia Beach because people may not know where Norfolk is. I don't know is motives though or if he even has any.

So difficult to understand, but VT & NH run so close at the top & with the lack of any "major" stores, shops, anything really, these communities are well, sisters for lack of a better explanation. hth...
Neighboring town, Pittsburg NH even discontinues Power and Power lines at the top toward the Canadian border... "rural" isn't the word for it...relaxing maybe for some, a hide away maybe for others??? These towns have maybe 3 people tops employed as law enforcement...this is how it is here.

>>>>I don't mean to speak for Chris, just for the dynamics of the forum in general.<<<<<<
I think one issue that comes up a lot here is that some people (and I include myself in this group) don't come up with a theory, or an actual storyline that they imagine. And sometimes, being one of those people, many of the storylines proposed end up sounding like "nonsense" - not because they are impossible, or even far-fetched, but mainly because they go into such elaborate detail with such little real evidence.
Other people (I think the majority of WS) do tend to imagine up a whole scenario with mental images and side plots etc. And I don't think there's anything wrong in that, at all. It is just a different way.

I have gotten much better at not offending, and respecting other members and how emotionally invested we ALL are in what we believe - whether it is a specific scenario, or just that many many scenarios are possible. Everyone is passionate about what they believe, it is what makes this place what it is.

Thanks and I understand. I tell people I am from Dallas when in fact I am from a suburb. BTW I know where Norfolk and Virginia Beach is and I love them both. I was just wondering if maybe someone else posted that information. jmo

Lol, no need for apologies, from my understanding the family liked him better dead than alive anyways. Just amazes me that something that happened soooo long ago still plays a part in the happenings of today.

I'm still trying to catch up but I noticed comments about special education. Are these being asked due to her age/grade?

I am a school psychologist (not in NH), but the special ed laws are federal. In my experience, each district (not state) handles "holding kids back" differently. However I have never worked in NH.

Parents also have a say in retention. I have found that children are less likely to be held back if on an IEP - as long as they are showing some progress, they are typically passed on. There are many other factors that could come into play - she was held back due to missing too much school one year (believe it or not this is not that rare in the early grades like kindergarten, or when kids have an extended illness.) I have also seen parents enroll their children late. Or, if she didn't have a good pre-k foundation (or learning experience prior to school) they may have kept her an extra year in pre-k.

Oh c'mon now!! Everyone knows where Norfolk is!! :great:

I am a member of this discussion group. It is a new group that began about 6 hours ago. It only has 39 members at this time.

oh good so you'll keep us abreast if anything good gets said, right??? I am currently avoiding doing anything on FB other than logging in quietly, so I would rather not join a new group...
