There are some guys that get obsessed without being an ex or even a person you've dated. The guys that create a fantasy about you and your relationship with them are scarier than a jilted ex or someone that acts overly interested. You might say hi to a guy in passing or think of them as a friend, coworker, friend of a friend, and not realize they have a fictional relationship with you. It's also really hard to live up to someone's made-up idea of you. I only experienced a guy like this once but it was a scary weird experience. I was lucky the guy lived about a 1000 miles away. That helped some.

Unfortunately, I know the type you are talking about too and have experienced it myself. I think it is a very good possibility here. She was attractive, single and alone. We of course have even considered neighbors--no one in particular of course--just as a general thought... Someone who may have known she lived alone--however, lunch time does not necessarily seem to fit there but it would be someone who knew she was at home when maybe others were not as it was a work day...

Same here. I have friends who use Uber and when riding with them I will go along but I have been far from impressed with the drivers we have had and in fact never see the same one twice. I also have some stories with them. I prefer our regular cab company. I hate to paint them all with the same brush, just saying I have not been overly impressed with most of the Uber drivers I have seen.

I am unfamiliar with UberEats and wonder if they have it in Carolyn's area. When one of the locals come on, they can probably tell us.

I am glad you told him to eff off. I would think he would be out of a job for offering such "full" service to customers...

Carolyn was attractive and successful, I tend to lean towards someone being obsessed with her, if it was not someone from a relationship or ex-relationship which is so often the case...

I do believe we have UberEats in the area. It comes up on my app. I have no experience with it though. I believe Panera has their own delivery vehicle.

Did any women in the building or area report someone coming to their homes with claims of maintenance work or fire alarm inspections being needed that turned out to be untrue? You wouldn't really need to be home for that. If she happened to return home and someone claimed that and appeared legit that might make you less suspicious.

Not that I know of. Someone remarked about a maintenance guy or some such trying to enter his apartment after this happened, he happened to be home and whoever it was said sorry, wrong apartment. Or maybe someone said they knew of someone who had this occur. It was a bit startling because one would think after a murder, they would take more care and precaution and tell the workers or maintenance to announce themselves, make sure they have the right apartment, etc. The locals or residents would be better for this question--it sounds like there is both maintenance and then others who probably clean or recarpet etc. on the premises constantly because it is big and someone is always moving in or out. This is to the best of my recollection anyhow.

I have a local Panera but to my knowledge they don't deliver so this surprised me. I believe mine delivers with preplanned catering orders, like a business conference for instance, and that's it. I am guessing UberEats is just general delivery for various restaurant chains...?

It has given us a few new things to think about I guess :) Furniture delivery, cable/wifi installation, maintenance, etc. I think we have considered but lunch delivery or a "faked" one never crossed my mind... Or knowledge of her that way perhaps even...

I saw someone mentioned the cookie thing. I'm in White Plains NY and the building I live in has a lot of temporary tenants that are staying while they look for a house after transfering here or nearby for a job. Having people move in or out constantly kinda makes you expect a certain amount of activity. Once there is a murder you would think the apartment employees would be extra careful. And the Apartment complex would address concerns not just send out emails about routine maintenance.

I agree. There has been discussion on here about that and how management has not addressed it, etc. I prefer to not be the one to say much about it because there are residents that can say more and know more than I do but yes, it seems as though they did not even tell people a murder occurred in their own complex...

I don't even know what to say about National Sugar Cookie Day or whatever it was. I have to say I had honestly never heard there was a day for sugar cookies until then :)

A very odd, very silent case by management, by LE and by the media. Imho.

When you google Carolyn it's sorton details and at first hesitant to say murder. I thought I read the FBI was involved. If that is correct is that normal?

I think at a certain point they became involved, not so sure they were in the beginning. It still surprises me in most cases they are, I think back to the old days when I thought something had to cross state lines for them to be involved. You probably know more than me, I have not been here that long but I am learning they are often looked to for at least assistance or resources in many cases.

Yes -- within 2 weeks, FBI joined the investigation effort, and the Middlesex County Prosecutor [Carey] appears to be the spokesperson for the investigation.
Was CB a witness to drug, internet related crime, and/or gang activity?

Very odd indeed. o_O

Maybe I've watched one too many Criminal Minds episodes but could it be a serial killer thing?

Are there many unsolved murders of young, educated, upwardly mobile women in this area?

The circumstances as we know them speak different to me than a serial kill.

She was allegedly lured home during her lunch -- not typical for her.

I believe she was targeted for mid day fatal assault where killer believed environment was quiet, unoccupied, and he could act and flee undetected.

MOO

It reminded me of a murder that occurred in the town/county I grew up in. Probably not connected at all. Markia Benson's murder in PA is still unsolved.
Police: Woman found murdered in Secane apartment
A killer takes certain risks when they are in the victim's home. It might not be a serial thing but just something that might hard for a total stranger to pull-off. At home during the day, or ever, you expect to be safe.

I just want to mention that I meant to look at this case and forgot to earlier. It sounds very similar. I am not saying it is the same person, just more so that it was an apartment complex, day time, etc. This woman's door was locked upon who ever exited?

I did wonder earlier how they found CB's door, unlocked or locked. Something else that we are unaware of. We also do not know how she was found, where in the apartment she was found nor how she died.

Re: Yes -- within 2 weeks, FBI joined the investigation effort . . .
I don't find any media mention of FBI for this case.
Rather, the quote is this -
Prosecutor Andrew Carey: "In this regard, we are also working directly with federal law enforcement agencies."
Federal authorities have joined in working to solve Hunters Glen murder

There are various federal law enforcement agencies which could be assisting: FBI, DEA, ATF, ICE, and more.

Apartments aren't as private as people think. My uncle actually had lived at the complex in PA while separated from my aunt. Apparently the walls were pretty thin. Even when you live with people used to living in a apt people still can be nosy.

Sorry if this has been discussed..... which of her neighbors works from home?

If this has been discussed I missed it too. LE has been pretty tight lipped about everything. Maybe some that is from the building would know.
