Police were expected to use helicopters and make aerial searches of the ocean on Friday and during the weekend. Her father said that police were just as “baffled” as his family and her friends about her disappearance.

I am curious about her going to Toronto. Who was she going to see? Could they have come down to surprise her? Was this someone she met online and perhaps didn't *really* know? With what we've learned about the bridge being close to LE, I think her car there is just a cover. I don't think she jumped and I dont think she left with the intent of not returning home.

She never stated in her social media that she was going to Toronto soon. She was just replying to a friend saying (paraphrased), next time we meet in Toronto I'll make a drink for you(a drink recipe recommended by a well-known youtuber). It wasn't worded like a plan saying, hey I'll stop by soon, it was more, next time I happen to be in Toronto let's hang.

I think we can rule out the train. There are no trains running in the middle of the night in that area. The last train to Long Branch (and points north, including NYC) is at 11:52 p.m. If she was last seen leaving her grandmother's home at 11:45, she would not have made the train.

Yeah, agreed. Train didn't seem as plausible to me either, it was another idea someone mentioned.

I think we can rule out the train. There are no trains running in the middle of the night in that area.

Actually, there are trains that leave Belmar as late as 11:50pm.

I absolutely believe its possible that she could have caught that train and I also believe too, that the car was placed there on purpose. There's a dark road on the side of the bridge, going up the crest on the right side, very close to where the car was left, where it could've been hidden due to a crime. Whether she left on her own accord or not, she still could've easily boarded that train, she would've blended in with a Hoodie or hat and the family and friends need to take that into consideration asap so that any surveillance can be utilized, not just in Belmar but Long Branch and Newark ect and more southern stations too. I truly hope they include that as part of their search.

The facts and questions say a lot. Though intriguing, an unlocked house and an abandoned car does not mean foul play was necessarily involved. The little to no elaboration of those facts by law enforcement may be important for safety reasons at this time however, something as simple as a clothing description would be very helpful.

Yes, this is what I was referring to when I asked about Toronto. I remembered reading it - but then couldnt recall where I had seen it!

Maybe a neighbor saw her leaving in the car, which would explain why they don't know what she was wearing. They could see it was her driving but not her clothes. If they were coming home from work or leaving for work it would explain why they know the time. Just guessing.

I wonder if LE has checked the plate readers on their patrol cars in the area. They could flag her LIC plate in the computer and see what other vehicles were around hers. I know all Neptune and Belmar PD cars have ALPR plate readers which are connected to the county dispatch system. This would be a good way to findout her route that night.

I agree, seems like it would've been easier to get an Uber/Lyft to the train and not risk having her grandmother's vehicle stolen. Still perplexed by why she would've left the house unlocked if leaving it and there was no one home. The 11:45 witness is key here. JMO

It looks like there may be a report of what she was last seen wearing, possibly from the 11:45 witness? I hate to go there, but if she were in the water, wouldn't she have surfaced already? BBM

If she jumped or fell into the water, rescuers have not yet been able to find her body.
Volunteers were instructed to keep an eye out for a red sweatshirt or wind breaker, a green iPhone and her drivers license, but were warned not to touch anything they found in order to protect any possible evidence.

&#8220;We can give the detectives some help. They combed through her phone records that they were able to get and find out if anybody had contact with her,&#8221; he said.
He called his daughter&#8217;s disappearance a &#8220;mystery that&#8217;s very unsettling&#8221; given that no one could contact her via cell phone on Friday night.
&#8220;There&#8217;s a time gap in there that we don&#8217;t know what happened or who she was with because her phone was either dead or turned off &#8230; It&#8217;s not like Sarah. She&#8217;s not that kind of kid. She keeps in contact with her.&#8221;

There was nothing to indicate Sarah Stern was troubled, according to Michael.
&#8220;Everything seemed fine. I talked to her Thursday night; everything seemed fine. We texted back and forth a little,&#8221; Stern said, adding that he &#8220;lost touch&#8221; with her on Friday.
&#8220;There was talk of her going to Canada,&#8221; he said, &#8220;but not that day. It just seems strange that she got in the car and disappeared.&#8221;
