Aren't the elevators on the other end of the hall from his suite? For one, I thought PD came up the stairs and breached his barricaded stairwell door... Secondly, if I was getting shot at, I'd definitely get cover, not uh... stand directly in his line of fire at the elevators that would be straight down the hall and a dead-end... :moo:

I’m not sure where exactly the elevators are. I was imagining they were up the center like a lot of hotels where you come off the elevator lobby and go right or left. The stairs were immediately to the right of his room.

There were 2 officers checking out the 31st floor and then moved up to the 32nd floor and came off the elevator. Teams formed near the elevator and in the stairwell so the suspect was cornered. It’s all on the scanner if you have time to listen.

I'm surprised they're taking a back seat here durings the pc's.
Could it be that local Sheriff is wanting to 'protect' the hotel and perhaps FBI would not accomodate that?

I dont think there is any evidence to this effect.
It simply means it will not be prosecuted as a federal case in the context of the information thats available now= not terrorism.
But it could still end up being terrorism if they manage to find what is 'hidden' and they're not doing the hiding themselves.
As I said theres a massive assortment of skill sets required to investigate and prosecute a major event.
The problem with this event is that there appears to be no reason for it.
If a reason appears, the terrorism people will investigate it.. if no reason appears, a terrified population is left foundering- for rhyme and for reason.. catharsis, ultimately..and of course the apportion of blame..
I mean, if you knock all the tall buildings as a result of this, the next perp will probably dig a tunnel?
Could it have been prevented?
Highly unlikely.
There may be other levels from which to observe it or for catharsis but thats up to each individual..
Its a deeply shocking event worldwide.. We are all foundering, in a sense..

It’s more likely the FBI doesn’t want to even have the chance to reveal certain info, so they put the SO or LVMPD up front who literally doesn’t know the things they want to protect, whatever that may be.

Looks like the elevator is up the middle. 6 total elevators in a corridor.

That lines up perfectly with the strange Wynn commentary. Now I guess a couple of gaps brought up by this are: Where is the elevator relative to his room, and what advantage did he gain by using this? Avoiding cameras? The way Wynn said his thing was as if the shooter somehow gained a significant advantage by using the service elevator.

-“Investigators have found”. What are they using to determine ‘200’ incidents?? For ‘those’ 200, over what span of time? From when to when?? We know SP was seen “days leading up to the massacre” with a female. We still don’t know who saw him last on Monday (that has to be on camera somewhere in the casino/hotel). Did someone serve him too much Port?? Did he check in at the hotel or go straight to his room through the back door?

I find this dubious. In all of the videos, there was zero indication he was using tracers. He may have used limited quantities of API ammo or something in the .308 to attempt to set off the fuel tanks, but I haven't heard any reporting that would lead one to believe that incendiary ammo was actually being used. If people were getting hit with it, that would be some of the first news out there. Why have exotic ammo if it wasn't going to be used?

That would be more in alignment with incendiary ammo. Tracer rounds would be visible the entire time in flight. Imagine old-school sci-fi lasers being shot out of the window.

They stated that the tracer rounds were found in his room but that he did not use them. They also mentioned that this helped keep his position hard to discern from the ground/outside. They stated that he did however use the incendiary rounds. They also stated that a door alarm (caused by an open door) going off is what brought the security guard's attention to him prematurely. I am looking for a link but don't see one yet. Wolf Blitzer just reported all of that .
