I have no idea how hotel door alarms operate (didn't even know they were used in hotels) but is it possible Paddock drilling a hole "near the door" triggered some type of "door alarm" that brought the security guard??

Also, wrt the door alarm... is it possible alarms are only utilized in this hotel on doors "shared" between suites... when opening this adjoining/shared door is optional??

It sounds like he was caught off guard while still setting up and planning? I also don't take the changes in reporting as so unbelievably strange. We are a week in and we live in a world of 24 hour news cycle, pervasive hoaxes and fake news on the internet and social media. It's not shocking that facts cannot be kept straight, there is too much noise, too much paranoia and thirst for conspiracies to be somehow true. So anytime a very fluid and ongoing investigation begins to take and then even change shape everyone is screaming that its strange, untoward, and willfully untruthful. I just do NOT get this new attitude in our society. I really don't.

People should Just let the investigators do their jobs, let the dust settle, check the veracity of the sources that you read, be careful what you spread, and have patience. These things do not "solve" over night nor should they. In my eyes that would be just plain sloppy.

Also, this case is frustrating to investigators. They are dealing with a shooter that is unique in his age and lack of social media/internet footprint. He left nothing behind for them to pick apart. They are untangling the facts and reports that came out of complete and utter chaos and victims and survivors who endured trauma which will effect their recollection sometimes. Every new detail they release is somehow framed as shady. Why? (And this was before the change in the timeline)

24 hour news cycle + Pervasive Conspiracy theories and Fake News + Chaos+this unique perpetrator+ debunked fake news persistently shared +Chaotic Scene= Confusion. That's my equation. LOL.

This is a very active and fluid investigation. Things will continue to change. That fact does not equate lies or coverups by LE or investigators.

Wolf Blitzer now reporting live that shooter used the Incendiary ammo at the jet fuel tank attempting to cause an explosion.

Campo changes investigation this way, it appears this was the beginning of the event , not the beginning of the end of the event.

Was shooter planning on shooting 30 minutes later but was caught off guard and then began shooting. Interrupted while planning, confrontation with Campo may have triggered his shooting.

" 6 minute offset changes very little, as we do not expect our LE to engage in a suicide mission" Without appropriate equipment etc.

During crucial 6 minutes, LE has not responded to questions as to what was going on but may provide more detail later this week.

More changes to the narrative... So is this to say that the security office did NOT notify police that there was a shooting taking place? Stranger and stranger.

If security guard notified hotel right away that he had been shot, did they convey this information to the police? From the narrative we are getting, police didn't know where the shooter was. Or maybe that will change too. Doesn't sound like the guard did anything wrong. But why why did police then claim security guard was shot after other people were shot? I don't think that story came from security guard, if he called his hotel right away and there is a record of that.

Yeah it’s def weird that the timeline changed with the security guard. It seems to me that LE was told the first version that they released, and now learned that’s not true. I would not be surprised if that is the result of Mandalay being in CYA mode when everything first happened.. how could they say they knew there was an active shooter 6 minutes beforehand?

If you do some looking on google, you can find a valet receipt from earlier in the week that has MDs name on it, not SPs. Which could very well be why LE did not immediately confirm that SP checked into Mandalay earlier than the 25th. Didn’t early reports say that he checked in using her name? Maybe that was true but LE stopped talking about it bc they are in the midst of an investigation.

Not to mention fake news sites and conspiracy sites aren’t helping by any means.

My core issue with this is the flip totally changes the Sheriffs endless ( the night it happened) how HIS officers stopped this

B 10 minutes of a battlefield in war

which came first -- either event is not , imo, did an eyewitness hear 1 or 2 shots

any human would recall if they were shot at 200 times OR he was shooting 500 people first !

everything changed after the first time the FBI guy talked and made it clear that the FBI will get to the truth

I apologize. I can only find rags that say she was identified by LE. However multiple credible sources say LE was looking for a woman seen with SP .... I think NYP is considered credible here but if not, I added a Fox News article
