-It could change again. Why? They have concrete items to go off of for the timeline. The only way it can change is ? Key persons reserving their right to come forth for fear of? Has the FBI issued all request to all persons directly involved...that they know of?

I’m just tuning in for the day. My apologies if these questions have come up earlier.
TIA

-This just stumped me again, I have to ask specifically. Is it legal for a PR firm to withhold an employee from being available? TIA

“Through a public relations firm, MGM declined to make any employee available for an interview Wednesday, and said in a statement: “Security has been and continues to be a top priority at all of MGM Resorts.”

Perhaps Friday will give them enough time to get the timel....ah... collective stories straight.

Yeah and maybe they want to review all of that video surveillance tape while they're at it.
If there's one thing I'm certain of is this: casinos have advanced camera systems. If you fart & it blows your skirt up a smidge-- they'll know about it.

Fact.

"The massacre in Las Vegas killed 58 people and wounded 489 who were crowded together into one field, but those deaths have been felt across the entire continent."

https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2017/10/06/here-all-victims-las-vegas-shooting/733236001/

Other sources just say 489 injured. The very most I've been able to find would be around 200 people actually shot, and that's from adding numbers reported in various sources from various hospitals. I have not seen a consolidated number anywhere.

He shot over 500 people? Do you have a link?

Note: It is hard to find a definitive report of numbers, but I don't really understand the generality of the question.

In addition to the 58 people killed in the massacre, Stephen Paddock’s attack left nearly 500 others with wounds ranging from burns left by passing bullets to debilitating internal injuries that threaten lifelong paralysis. The overwhelming majority of victims suffered gunshot wounds, Las Vegas doctors say, while dozens of others were injured in the frenzied stampede that ensued.

Could be he used a phone instead of a radio which is why it wasn't recorded.

The revelation that hotel security had been alerted comes a day after Las Vegas police changed their timeline of how the Route 91 Harvest country music festival massacre started on Oct. 1 — not with an attack on a crowd along the Strip at 10:05 p.m., but with the shooting of Mandalay Bay security guard Jesus Campos inside the hotel about six minutes before.

"He called it in before" the attack began, possibly using a hallway phone to contact hotel security, Clark County Assistant Sheriff Tom Roberts told The Times in an interview. "He manually called down and he used his radio to call. … That's what we were briefed this morning."

Roberts said he didn't know precisely what time Campos called in his own shooting before the assault on the concert began, or whether the hotel immediately passed the information to police.

Called via phone and radioed.

There was an MGM employee interviewed...unless this man is a contractor it says "MGM maintenance man" https://www.today.com/news/las-vegas-hotel-workers-took-cover-hallway-after-gunman-opened-t117342

These questions have been bouncing around in my head today. . . and if these have been asked and answered already, my apologies

Did LE mentions anything about finding spent shell casings and/or other weapons inside the adjoining room ?

A few of the weapons had an attached bipod: Was he shooting. . .
From a prone position (lying flat on floor) ? From that viewpoint, I wonder how much of the scene was actually visible to him.
Any chance those written calculations LE discovered were needed because he was shooting "blind?"
and/or:
Was he using the small "note" table to support the gun with attached bipod while shooting from a kneeling or crouching position?

Does anyone recognize that blue "tubing" peeking out from behind the chairs/couch? My first impression was: an air pump, ya know, for inflatables and pool toys, or even a diving "snorkel"
But, the blue color makes me lean towards some sort of "medical" part, perhaps belonging to a C-PAP machine?

That's assuming reporting is accurate. We know that the maintenance employee radioed, because we heard that recording. Could be security guard just called, which is why there is no recording.

Panic. Echoes.

Yep. It's hard to tell how many shooters there are when being shot at. There's the actual gunfire itself, echos, the sonic booms of the rounds going by, the rounds impacting things nearby... Granted, I wasn't there, but I would not be surprised if people are just very much mistaken because they're unaware of what they were actually hearing.

There is no way rules are going to require someone who is wounded to stay on the scene to do whatever. He could have bled to death during that time. My understanding is that they were in hiding while the shooting was going on, and that's why they didn't leave.

I dunno, I'd guess he'd know how seriously he was injured or if he was bleeding to death. That he stuck around until LE arrived and they sent him off for medical treatment, seems it wasn't anywhere near a fatal wound.

We also don't know if he was carrying a cellphone or had any other means of communication other than within the hotel. A 25 year old just doing his job, suddenly meeting a hail of gunfire, luck was on his side to have survived.

There were initial reports of shots fired from other floors as well. I can only imagine but the chaos faced by a typical night shift crew amidst the sound of gunfire inside or outside, up, down or somewhere else -- did either the security officer or maintenance worker actually speak with head security or were they only able to leave urgent messages?

Lots of unknowns remain at this time. But from what we know so far, I do believe JCs sudden and unexpected appearance on the 32nd floor threw a wrench in SP's grand scheme as he intended his diabolical massacre would result in far more deaths and injuries. For that reason I see JC's Hero label befitting, regardless of the timeline.

-Yes, he was referenced as the building engineer for MB (Steve S). I don’t know if he spoke before or after the PR firm issued a statement?? I don’t really understand how a PR firm can prevent an individual from speaking?

Is Nevada an at-will employment state? Talk, you're fired. Pretty easy, actually.

Las Vegas Review stated that LE had found nothing unexpected in-While investigators continue to comb through Paddock’s corner suite, nothing significant was collected from the first room, the sheriff said.

-Wow! Thanks for that reminder. I just hope those people in “at-will” talk as opposed to keeping their job but knowing it is a subjective topic.

Agree. Not to mention the chaos and fear. As I previously posted, eyewitness accounts are notoriously unreliable, and not for nefarious reasons.

“Through a public relations firm, MGM declined to make any employee available for an interview Wednesday, and said in a statement: “Security has been and continues to be a top priority at all of MGM Resorts.”

It's been my experience that only certain spokespersons are authorized to speak on behalf in any event that occurs within a corporation.

One of the problems with employees coming forth to the media is reporters have no way of determining if what the person is telling them is accurate or if it's some anonymous stranger looking for 15 seconds of fame. Very similar to some of the "anonymous sources close to the investigation" that never are heard of ever again because their information wasn't factual. We all get frustrated by false reporting and while the media treads a fine line looking for high ratings and readership through breaking stories, they aren't in a position of determining the 100% accuracy of what becomes "news".

UPDATE: Mandalay Bay hotel waited 6mins to call 911 after 2 employees reported Stephen Paddock was firing shots from 32nd floor, per @ABC.

ouch- why wait?!!!
