No independent journalists, and no questions from MSM journalists. I think they were upset with LL's outbursts at the last one, where she cornered them about the dates. Definitely lack of decorum and definitely annoying, but she wasn't wrong, either...

Well as despicable as I believe LL is, she appears to be one of the few actually doing investigative reporting on this case. It was her finding of the room service receipt on the 27th that seemed to precipitate the change in narrative about when Paddock checked in.

How exactly would they be able to rule out multiple shooters by day 2 anyway? There were still bodies on the ground at that point. Doesn't make any sense. There is no possible way they could have determined that so early.

Because they investigated all the 911 calls and determined there was no physical evidence of a sniper? It was reported early on that survivors fled to their hotels and made the 911 calls from a secondary location. Their lack of complete details other than perhaps " I've been shot!" aside from other people noticing a wounded person in the lobby, hearing the echoes of gunshots, panic all down the strip, people fleeing on foot or by vehicle ....Mandalay Bay is not that isolated, fear spreads in an instant.

One account I read by a woman hiding inside another casino until somebody screamed there was a shooter inside, then they all fled somewhere else. Nobody knew what was happening or where the shots were originating from, the initial absolute fright and fear that shooters were absolutely everywhere is totally understandable to me. It had to have been terrifying beyond words, bodies, wounded, screams of terror.

Every account I've read by the victims acknowledges exactly that state of total chaos, looking back at their horrific experience. Many of these people went out of their way to assist others, many heroes within that crowd.

The victims including everyone directly impacted, police officers, doctors and nurses, crisis workers, get forgotten already as SM uses the event as an example of a conspiracy so quickly, a great coverup for unknown reasons but obviously involving corruption. It seems that only victims who are willing to feed scandalous tidbits are given attention? What about all the others?

I remember freedom of the press as being a big deal here !!

Separation of powers etc

We pay cops -- its not there job to decide who they want to attend a press conf -- not how it is supposed to be working imo!

Since last night ... umpteen broken quotes repaired, thirty posts removed ... posts strongly hinting at conspiracy (but of course saying they aren't), posts discussing a rumor even though others have warned there is no MSM, posts arguing about gun control or whether or not they are arguing gun control.

C'mon good people ... WS staff have more to do than babysit this thread when you all should know The Rules. We are going to have to get REAL STRICT here and start issuing Timeouts for TOS violations.

I’m not sure how a microscopic analysis of brain tissue will lend itself to a cause of death... are they’re confused about the traumatic GSW(s)? Kind of strange.

They already know the cause of his death - GSW. They're looking for any indication there were contributing factors - like cancer(its not always visible to the naked eye) or some neourological disease (like Parkinsons's, dementia, etc.) that caused him to become violent, irrational, etc.

As I've said before, had the ME chosen not to do more detailed analysis he would have been loudly criticized by CT folk. LOL, seems he can't win either way. Such is the nature of CT.

Sorry for all the messin' sillybilly..

Since the internet of course there is fake news .

To hear people constantly claim that the organizations I listed earlier are fake news is the problem.

Nowdays you hear people claiming those institutions , that are as old as our nation itself is fake news ----is fake news!!

Its perfect. If you read something you don't believe.... FAKE NEWS!

I'm not criticizing the decision. It's the phrasing of the statement that is weird, in my opinion. That's all.

Wasn't it the 28th when the suite #32135 became available to SP? He rented the adjacent room on the 25th to the 27th? Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong. Otherwise if someone else was occupying #32135 on the 27th, the receipt only proves the presence of other occupants.

No Betty.. this is specifically cause and method of death.
I did a google search on how long it normally takes for forensic autopsy specifically
heres the link
http://pathlabs.ufl.edu/services/autopsy/faq-autopsy

  • Forensic Autopsy: Forensic autopsies differ from hospital autopsies in their objectives and relationships. In addition to determining a person's cause of death, if possible, forensic pathologists must establish the manner of death (e.g., natural, accident, suicide or homicide) and identity of the decedent (if not known), as well as the decedent's time of death and/or injury. Evidence collected from the body may prove or disprove a person's guilt or innocence. The autopsy also involves evaluating the scene, clothing and toxicology.
On time frame, I found this bit

When are final autopsy reports ready for review?
Preliminary autopsy reports are usually available on the next working day. Final autopsy reports are ready between 30 and 45 days later. Complex cases may take up to 90 days before a final report is complete.

So Coroner does not expect to have things finalised for months..
What was so complicated in his case, I wonder?

You are "reading" accounts by the victims? Words can get misreported. There are plenty of eye witness accounts available on video. Much more accurate IMO.

Given it was TPM, I was wondering if maybe they had just miquoted... But several other sources say the same thing:

Las Vegas coroner John Fudenberg said an autopsy was completed on the 64-year-old, but a finding on a cause and manner of his death is not expected for several months.
http://www.independent.co.uk/news/w...brain-study-stanford-university-a8000221.html

It was apparently an AP release, so I guess that's what the coroner really meant. Which makes it all the more strange, considering I would think cause and manner of death would be apparent... self-inflicted GSW. :moo:

Oxymoron alert !!

Press conf with no questions!

Thats a speech not a pc!

Why were so many reporters kicked out before the presser yesterday?

Isnt that the reason for pressers?

I know in places like N Korea , Russia, and CHina the govt selects which news outlets are allowed in.

This is America-- isnt freedom of the press discussed somewhere in our early years??
They were not kicked out before the presser
BUT the presser was only announced by tweet one hour before it happened.
aLSO a subsequent tweet by LVPD said there would be no admissions without press credentials and they would be inspected.
But far as I know, everybody who was there on time, a lot were not because of the short notice, were actually allowed inside.
Then they closed the door.
They chucked some people after the presser okay, people who had missed it and people who were dawdling and they refused CNN permission for an interview in the press room immediately after the event even though they had all their cameras set up from earlier, presumably, and had their press credentials in place.

It was an unecessary and hostile step to take- clearly seeing all journalists as the enemy.
Playing hardball from start to finish will not warm the public towards helping them.

They're taking it all so personally..its unprofessional of them, at least and wont endear them to the public that pays their salaries, a fact they too frequently forget. In every country.

ugh

just had a crrepy line of thought

hoping sec guard ok

the thought

they have done this before

make him disappear for a bit

poof hes back

now he is gone

poof he will come back

next time he vanishes???

I checked it off several safe sources.. wording was exact same in all.
Its how he said it okay and its also how he meant it, clearly..
Strange, okay..

Also, because his brother had come to the city to take his body for burial, it seems he was either not informed there would be a delay or the extent of the delay- months- not weeks, only became apparent immediately following autopsy..

I wonder whether there are questions?

His name is on the receipt.

He had the adjacent room on the night of the shooting. I believe he added that room around the 28th. There was rumor about him having another room on a lower floor prior to getting the suite. I'm not sure I've seen that corroborated anywhere outside of anonymous sources.

imo

all behavior has meaning!!

It is the biggest mass murder in the nation

That big story

The world is watching -- and they call a presser in an hour -- come on now

I have seen video of a cop outside the presser before it starting being really nasty kicking people out .

But is was like someone filming it from there tv so I could not tell what outlet it was being aired on. The crawl on the bottom was hard to make out .

I will link it if I can find a way to find out which outlet it was on. It did look like a local tv outlet

As a taxpayer I feel ripped off.

According to officials there are 100's involved in trying to find the "truth"

72 hours had passed since they suddenly yelled presser in 60............no questions

and then they say nothing new

no from employer view ! We pay them.

In private sector of we had 100's of people on our payroll and in 72 hours they do nothing -- I might consider ...............

then we have to ask ourselves what is the purpose a press conference.

My sense is its to answer the medias questions about an event.

Yesterday was like saying your having a BBQ but you bring nothing to eat

kinda effed up IMO- they pulled it on a Friday - so it airs on the east coast late on a Friday afternoon .

They then get 48 hours further away from the story . Its a game. And typically it works ..........

there letting it fade out -- it will go down in history as this lone shooter

Any pressers for next week announced?

I did not think so ..........................

The receipt says he was in room 32135 on the 27th. With one other guest.
