So if Steven never went to the games, why would SA ask him if he was going to this time? :waitasec: And I wonder why he didn't go regularly?????

I think there's a specific process to get AMW to cover a story. I'm not sure what it is - maybe someone else 'round here knows.

Looking forward to hearing more about the press conference.

AMW wants documentation mailed in, with instructions at this link:
http://www.amw.com/about_amw/faq.cfm

I mailed one piece of paper, with links to the Facebook page and what little we had of a timeline.
Because it wasn't a "case file", it probably got trashed...and after all, who wants to type in URLs from a piece of paper?

I'd just about bet that cases submitted by law enforcement get priority, and that they have access we do not.
But it never hurts to try.

Basketball:
These are kind of like "pick up games" among the guys in the ward; at first, I thought they were formal events where they bought tickets and attended the local college or Utah Jazz games. Steven liked water sports; there's no mention of contact sports like hockey or basketball.

That's what I thought about AMW - rather antiquated, isn't it?

Can we ask Naegle if there is an LE invesigator who may be willing to submit Steven's case to AMW on behalf of the family?

Sure. I'll ask if they've brought the subject up with Det. McKay.

(Note: Non-members can't access any contact information on the lds.org website; only validated LDS members can register.)

I have never "logged" into the site. While I happen to be a member of the church. Everything I have posted with bishop's phone numbers and church addresses on here I have gotten the same as anyone else could have. I hope you can sense my tone here. I'm just trying to be helpful. The only thing that I am aware of that you get by logging in is the contact information of the people that attend your ward. Which may be what you were referring to, but there is plenty of contact info on the site. I was actually somewhat surprised. I think you can imagine why member information isn't public. I wouldn't want my information public. Can you imagine all the MLM opportunities that I would get presented.

I hear ya....AND have you heard the good news about Amway, Nu Skin, NeWays, Tahitian Noni Juice, Morinda, Usana, Melaleuca, Young Living, Nature's Sunshine, Nature's Way, Xango? (I think Renn will get that reference...haha)

It's just that I poked around the site, found the Stake that the Bloomington 7th fell into, but every time I tried to click on a link, it required me to log in.

I had the same problem trying to find more info on the wards in the Anthem Stake. Maybe I was doing something wrong?

While I was looking for that - I did find an LDS singles dating site and what appeared to be an LDS singles travel group. Do these sound like avenues that should be looked further into?

Yeah....but there's lots of them.

Very impressive! Sadly I can think of at least 10 more and I don't even live in Utah!

Guess I've never tried logging into a specific ward before. See, you learn something new everyday.

believe09, I am LOCAL to a lot of places including Henderson, NV.

I think I mentioned once again WAY BACK in the #1 thread but here in Vegas it is well-known that we have for sure one serial killer here. Local prostitutes. . .white, 21-25, blond. . .the kind that don't "look" like prostitutes have been disappearing. They found one's legs in like Illinois or Indiana on the side of a highway. They believe the person to be a truck driver. I don't know how that may fit in to all of this but a truck driver could be headed to Sacramento if Steven wanted to go there. And Trevor Morse disappeared right next to the 215 which is obviously traveled by 18 wheelers.

The one prostitute in particular disappeared between the Monte Carlo and the Luxor. Talked to her mother while she was at the Monte Carlo. Told her mother she was headed to her car which was parked at the Luxor. Never made it there. Car was found still in the Luxor parking lot. Happened in the afternoon not in the middle of the night. In that case, just as in Steven's, she was seen on video leaving the casino then never seen again.

That was Lindsay Harris they found in Ill. She had a thread here. :(

I don't recall hearing anything about a serial killer in Vegas. Though there is the case of Jessie Foster (also has a thread here) as well - similar lifestyle as Lindsay, though Jessie has never been found. I personally believe her BF/pimp is her killer. I believe there is still a group that conducts searches for Jessie in the desert areas around Vegas.

Anyway, even if those cases were connected, Steven doesn't fit the victim profile.

wow you guys have covered a lot -

I recall that an email was circulated to the stakes in the area, the missionaries may not have heard about it b/c sometimes they are late to church from giving rides or in meetings - FASTEDDY awesome job on bringing this to there attention.

okay - 1500 missing person cases reported per MONTH - (just answering or clarifying that)

Totally intrigued by the post by "appalled" I found the personal jabs interesting & found it odd that "he" would be so appalled about "ideas" being thrown around on here & that so much attention would be brought about the "third" house in & what not. I understand people wanting privacy & what not, but I just found the entire post odd & a bit suspicious - glad that's out now & someone brought it up I felt like there was an elephant standing in the room - but I wasn't sure about posting rules & didn't want to appall anyone - but there is just something fishy about that - maybe not - maybe I'm just paranoid but all things must be looked at right?

Okay is there a page going besides the timeline about "what we know" such as
SK car was in SCA in the cul-de-sac.
The phone call with SA is known
not sure about GW - he could just be saying that (am I getting across what I mean by "known").
We know that gas was bought at such & such gas station as listed on timeline b/c of receipts.
We know that SK went to the ranch.
We know he talked to his dad on nov. 9.

okay I'm happy to compile this list - print off all the threads from the beginning & go through them - and put a list together - does anyone see that as helpful or not helpful - would like to know before I use up my toner & the time :)

At 1500 a month or 50 people per day, you are going to find similar demographics. Just slice and dice the population - male, female, transgender. White, black, hispanic, asian, Native American and biracial. All age categories, all religions, etc.

I see no pattern to a handful of guys in Steven's demographic considering the HUGE population of missing persons in the Vegas area,

The question isn't how many people a day go missing, it's how many stay missing for any length of time. Doesn't seem to be nearly as many.

I think everything that is "known" is in the timeline. Nothing was included that was questionable.

I am not trying to pick on Laytonian, FWIW-if you guys believe that everything has been adequately covered and that there are no answers forthcoming....imagine how that poor family feels....

With all due respect believe, I am not into perceiving guilt trips here.
There are questions that have not been answered by family, and I feel LE has probably mentioned not to talk to anyone regarding that info or some of it, anyway.

I have sleuthed a few things and have run into somethings that are better handled by LE.....I'm not pizzing anyone off to the point of being the next Steven. Especially with no sign of foul play. Vegas is a town to play in -- not with.

We don't even know what if anything has been done with the phone pings and if the hard drive has been forensically look at.

Unfortunately, we are dealing with a city environment and one that is notorious for secrets and on the hand (if I may speak for the majority here) we may have church involvement and a relevant piece of personal info on the missing person we are not aware of.

I also sadly believe that most people in the LV area believe he has just taken it upon himself to start another life. No one takes their passport to commit suicide. I think people in that neighborhood want to be left alone and want no more involvement.....for whatever reason. Sad, but I think they see it as an invasion on their neighborhood and home prices. It's 2010, and no one knows or cares about who may be living next door--except the outward appearance of acceptance and if the covenants are being maintained.

Did he take the passport for leaving--- or did he take the passport for something that could lead to foul play? If so, what? Or was it stolen? Was it stolen before he hit Vegas or after? Why would someone want/steal his passport? Identity theft? Anyone in the circle of possible POI's that might have this in mind? Just some thoughts...

IMO

So, as I am out cleaning out my car a half hour ago, a couple of Young Mormons come by and ask me if they can talk to me about Christ. I give them the usual blowoff and they leave. About a minute later they come back my way and I think to myself, "Hey, wait a minute. . ."

So, I ask them if they have ever heard of Steven Koecher. They had not. I tell them the whole deal. He was Mormon. From Utah, etc. etc. He disappeared. We think something bad happen to him. Tell them I am part of an online group that is looking for him. They had no idea and they are spreading the Mormon word within just a few miles of where Steven disappeared. I found that odd. But they were very interested and said they would pass the word and find out anything they could.

From talking to them, I just did not get the feeling that anyone with the LDS community here knew about it. I mean, if they guys didn't know, who would?

If not said in the proper context.....you might have scared the bjeez out them Fasteddy. LOL I wonder if they'll be back in your neighborhood again? Poor guys.:waitasec:
