Out of surgery? Didn't he just say at the presser he didn't know if Sweat will have surgery?

I am so glad that they got him and it's no longer a concern. Good job LE. :seeya:

I have been following along with this I promise. I didn't miss it!
I had some final baby prep to do today and I had to go pick up some things.
But I have been here, no more in labor than yesterday. :baby:

Still hoping that he will stay put at least another 10 days or longer. :baby:
I promise I will leave a note when I head to the hospital. I won't leave you all hanging.
If I disappear just check my recent posts and you'll find an update, I promise! :seeya:

What an incredible day, first class job done by LE all the way. Now we just have to do a metal detector check for all the nurses.

@FeliciaKrieg: Critical condition = Vital signs are unstable and not within normal limits. Patient may be unconscious. Indicators are unfavorable.

He was shot twice. Surgery was pretty much a given.

lungs? heart? loss of allot of blood? internal bleeding? shock? septic? dehydration?
something happened to make it an emergency operation?

""I hope he will be OK and he just stays there where he belongs," she said. "I have always told my kids you do the crime you do the time." She said David had often given her trouble while he was growing up.

<snip>

Pamela Sweat said she always wanted to see her son while he was in prison, but could not make the drive because of injuries.

If she could speak to her son now, she said, she knows what she would say.

"I love you," she said. "I always have and I always will. If I can see you, I will.""

I feel very sorry for his mother. This must be so awful. What do you hope for when your son is a convicted murderer? It's still her son.

did 1 bullet look like it went completely through him?

Sure looks like an exit wound to me, upper chest, center-(his) right.

--In the first photo taken, Sweat sitting up, 2 officers with plastic gloves holding him up.....the arms of both those officers are covered in blood. What some thought looks like a protective vest I think is actually the difference in color of his camo shirt- one part is drenched in blood, the other part not. in 3rd photo, the officer is maybe taking Sweat's shirt off, at least to his wrists, which are likely cuffed (feet sure are shackled). Looks again like single shirt, same one.

--PS. Vermont State Police issued a statement praising NY LE for their work and not mentioning their own. That's Vermont. :) The officer who took Matt down was 100%, for a fact, Vermont LE working Border Patrol (my SIL is Vermont LE....horse's mouth, so to speak). Given all those joining forces to help out, it could have ended up being any one from a lot of places, but....it wasn't. Good job, VT LE.

--So far all I see Cuomo calling for is an investigation led by an Inspector General, who will be tasked to evaluate...prison design (???!!) and security (getting warmer, but not by much).

The story is already being shaped, and an ending proposed.....that Tillie and Palmer were the only two involved, that it was the first escape in a zillion years (read between the lines- nothing really wrong at Clinton, these guys just got lucky, and even then it took the help of TWO bad apples, not just one, for them to escape).

---If Sweat survives AND returns to Clinton, hope media's eye brows are raised , and if survives, returns to Clinton AND is put in general population , you know someone pretty high up wants him dead. Hope the right folks are still paying attention a few months from now, if Sweat lives.

On the news earlier they said he wasn't being sent back to Clinton but they weren't releasing where yet to media. Don't know the station I think cnn but it was earlier when this all first happened.

Why am I still listening to the police scanner in Clinton? Joyce broke out and she forgot to pick herself up. She will never eat another hamburger again!
