"Orange" because it's the color of the van.

:)

Is the orange van the one that appears in ORR's video at approximately 18:29 in his Center Road video, as he pulls into the parking lot of Plank Road Manor?

From a distance it looks maroon in color.

If that's the van of a resident, and it was there at the time of Jennifer's disappearance... one might not be able to differentiate it if it's covered in mud.

I don't believe that that's Jennifer's van because it's lacking the two stickers on the back of the van, denoting different distances ran.

And it's hard to make out the license plate.

If anything... it could indicate the reason why Plank Road Manor was chosen as the place to ditch the van... assuming that that van in the video is normally there.

That's not Jen's van. Her van is "orange red." Will try to post a better pic.

ETA: This pic is showing more red, too. It's not red or maroon - more of an "orange-red" as it's been described to me.

If you read the previous threads, it is a Senior Citizens Housing Complex.
Jen's van is not maroon any longer- between fading due to age, mud, and salt spray, it looked more orange than the stated color. The van was parked in someone's usual spot... they know how long they were inconvenienced.

:pcguru:

No, not a Senior Citizen Complex. It is listed as:
Property Type: Multi-Family Housing Rental - Family
http://housingapartments.org/rental_detail/36503
Also listed as "affordable housing"

I remember Jillian saying some of the residents were elderly. There are also obviously younger people and families living there. In fact, accdg to ORR, the place has a bit of a reputation for drug dealing -- can't imagine senior citizens doing that.

In my perusal of old threads, I came across FB links -- like in the Sheriff's page. There was one really funny comment...a lady asked, "Where is Plank Road Manor?" and a couple comments down, there was a young woman who commented something like "Mom!! That's where I live!" and then Mom replied "Oh, I knew that!"

I also found links to where a person said they lived there and had been questioned by the police and when I clicked on their FB, it was obviously a young Mom with kids & hubby.

guess you don't hang out with a group of seniors who have lived in the same complex for years together and are home most of the time. The person that parks in that spot is the one with a similar van- and I am sure she asked all her neighbors who the heck was in her spot... I was raised by senior ladies- they could all work for the FBI

Ha ha!! You got that right -- a bunch of Miss Marples!

Locals don't use the Internet??

Apparently not all of them, including my friend and my mother-in-law. My friend is a busy Mom and they have a family farm that consumes a lot of their time. My MIL is afraid of the internet.

I know she (my friend) does email, because we chat back and forth via that. My MIL only just got email a couple weeks ago.

But, when I emailed her to tell her that I heard that a woman's body had been found, she hadn't heard about it yet, and said she'd read it the next morning in the Evening Sun. I thought that was kinda odd, because she's an acquaintance of Jenn's (through their kids), and if I had just gotten that news about someone I knew, I'd be on the internet instantly.

But maybe she's got some sort of system where she can do emails but not internet? My aunt has that.

I don't remember the info about Jen's van being in a spot where a similar van is usually parked. Can you refresh my memory?

ETA: Was this discussed during the time frame when the posters were being removed? I remember Bear, LD and maybe Jillian asking residents questions..

I would like to know too. I was under the impression that you needed an internet connection so you can use email. Maybe its just different in my country

OT and lol, for a long time my dearly departed mom thought her computer was just an aol email machine. She had no idea she could do other things. But she became pretty good on it, bless her heart, even though she was eighty. She lived very near this area (in Binghamton) and most of her same-age friends never got news online. The local news on TV was all-important, as well as the newspaper.

Jillian said many are seniors. Many drug dealers "live" with their elderly parents and grandparents, and I've yet to see a complex advertise it.

Smart owners rent the majority of their section 8 housing to seniors- as they tend to not destroy it.

Another question I posed on ORR's video was in regards to trash collecting.

What is the trash collection schedule for the apartment complex, and is it possible that evidence could have been dumped in the dumpster and been picked up at any point between the 11th (a Tuesday) and the 16th (a Sunday)?

Some residents said Jen's van was parked in a spot where someone who drives a similar vehicle to Jen's usually parked. That's why they didn't deem Jen's van being parked there as unusual.

That said, there is no assigned parking there, and cars come and go. Many residents there are elderly, and have caretakers that come and go throughout the day. So cars are pulling in and out of there frequently, from what I've been told.

I'm not sure, but my aunt has this plan where she can only get emails, and they can only be like short emails...if they are too long or have photos she won't get them.

My Mom had the cheap version of Juno, and she could only get email.

And...honestly, when I was living there, I didn't read the news online, and I also didn't get the paper. I would watch the news on TV while eating breakfast, and then be out the door to work. I would be on the internet at work, but not checking news -- just doing work stuff -- and then I would be checking emails because of work stuff.

Sneaky (swear word)

ETA: not you or the residents...!
