Right after RM went missing. I was checking IM's FB for updates. Everything was originally on her page. Then a search page was started I believe by the head honcho (DE). That page was closed and the current page is now the main page. That's why it won't make sense if you scroll down. You won't see the beginning.

Just trying to read more from weeks ago. :blushing:

Media interest has obviously gained quite a bit. Keeping it interested is another thing. That goes with every missing persons case. If there is nothing new to go on, interest quickly wanes and disappears. This is not anything new.

I am sure IM has not read every message addressed to her, let alone all messages on there. I think she is also trying to keep the core of her family intact and sound. She not only has to deal with her husband missing but also consider what her children are going through. It's amazing to me how some people can make a conclusion based on what a person DOESN'T say.
Well this is not the first time she or her family has had to deal with the public. I think she knows how to handle it!

One of her FB friends is a former secret service agent and very well known and respected private investigator. Initials are JL.. Obviously I have way too much time on my hands!:floorlaugh:

this is what im saying she has the resources and the know how! And the money!

they can find him or they could have helped to hide him!

Ineffective?? There has been over a dozen searches conducted organized by members and an ongoing media campaign that has proven to be quite effective. How should a FB search page be managed? I didn't know there was some playbook to be followed.

There have been 2, maybe 3, TOPS, searches conducted this far. If there were more than that they were not publicized and I've been following this case from day one.

The available facts are there. Nothing is 'hidden'. Some people just don't like the answers.

Many questions are ignored and the ones that are answered are vague. This is a fact.

It seems like because IM isn't allowed to be sleuthed, RM's search page is sleuthed and attacked as a result.

I think the critique of what went down the other day is not sleuthing in any way. It's simply an observation.

Many here have gone to FB in search of answers so we can help with the search. I look for this man every day. Simple answers would help those of us in a position to help do so.

How many times has it been asked to put up a picture of the bike? Is it that hard to google green bike and try to find one that is a close match?

Here's the problem. Without answers to questions, WE CAN'T HELP! And so it APPEARS that our help is not wanted.

And that is the most frustrating thing.

Absolutely not. I don't see that AT ALL.

Why not? lol Theresa and Joe!

I hope he just took off and wanted to live a new life but what are the odds?
Its either he was in some kind of trouble and had to vanish or someone killed him. and for what?

It's like "Mr. Roger's neighborhood" over on FB. Looks like the admins got what they wanted, support but, God forbid, no help from the public they were originally so hungry for. A lot of people were turned off by the admin attacks of the other night. They need to regroup and strategize. I for one will offer no more assistance.

The page, IMO, has been a joke since day One. As you mentioned, they seek help help help, but then when someone asks a pointed question, the defense mechanisms kick in, and the poster is considered to be violating privacy, blah blah blah.

You know what? You cant have it both ways. If you truly wanted help, you would be as open as you could, not keep saying you have answered the same questions over and over, when in fact, MOST of these questions were never answered directly. Or Godforbid someone asks a follow-up question....all they get is annoyed.

I guess some people are nosey, but I would believe the majority of people, like the ones here on WS truly want to help...and the only way to truly help is to get DETAILED answers on questions.....to me, the answers are ALWAYS in the details.
While I do understand (to a point) that IM needs to protect her privacy and her reputation, if a loved one is missing, I would think you would do/say/answer/help in ANYWAY you could, even if it meant some dirty laundry out there.

So instead of any kind of help, you have a cheerleading squad on FB....and anyone who dares to question how they handle it is immediately considered the enemy. Sorry to say it's just a complete waste of time over there....
But I guess it provides some sort of security blanket for IM....and if that's what she needs, its all good. As far as being productive in helping find RM, I think it plays a minimal role.....but what do I know?

In searches, I was referring to overall. But as far as organized and sanctioned, I think it is closer to four. One is being done this weekend. Not all 'searches' were posted, some between members, friends and family.

she knows exactly what she is doing and wont incriminate herself!

Wasnt IM who said "Time to go public, I have waited long enough"...wasn't that about 3 weeks ago? No reason to rush I guess:facepalm:

Why do you find it amazing??? Think about it. You base all of your conclusions on what people say? Not in my real life experiences....just for the record, I consider myself way more street smart than book smart.....always read between the lines...the details...observations....often times what people DONT SAY speaks VOLUMES over what they do say. :twocents:

You said the FB page helped with a dozen searches. If only 4 were publicized, how did the FB page help with a dozen searches?

Looking for a few good scenarios, if anyone is game....

How would you react if your spouse vanished suddenly, taking no personal effects or property except perhaps a few items from the car boot, (jumper cables, first aid kit, car jack, IDK) and the Mongoose bike ?
What info would you release and how would you handle the media and public support?

If your spouse disappeared with your assistance or knowledge, how would you react? What info would you release and how would you handle the media and supporters?

Compare this to the behaviors which are evidenced by the spouse in this case.

Keeping in mind that individuals react very differently to identical crises and that, often, we can not predict our behavior under duress.

I am starting to rethink my earlier prophesy (lol). That is all.

I believe IM can't recall the brand of bike it was. It was a green mountain bike. Mountain bikes don't look all that different IMO.

As far as answers being vague I think is a matter of interpretation. I honestly don't know if any answer, regardless how elaborate, would not be enough for everyone. Some things are just nobody's business or just downright inappropriate.

Maybe questions could be listed here and they could be expedited to her. I don't know if that breaks WS rules or not.

She reminds me of Theresa from the real housewives of new jersey!

I don't watch those shows (Blech), so I had to do some research.

Not meaning to go off topic, but how did they come up with $500,000 each for bail? IDK. I guess I'm very naive. :blushing:

I have popcorn for tonight, and margaritas.

:worms:

Hi Force Ten :seeya:

Can you please elaborate on my question re: over a dozen searches?
Thanks.

I believe FT conceded that although there were many smaller searches among family and friends there were maybe 4 publicized sanctioned searches

I agree. Just knowing his hobbies, sport interests, etc. would be helpful. It may help determine or rule out where he would go---if he left. Simple things like if he likes the beach, warm climates or cold (skiing?), the city or the country, casinos or camping, etc. Info like this would help. We don't know any of this. We have no clue what this missing man is like. We don't even know simple things like if he is reserved or friendly, generous or very careful with his money, etc. He is just a picture with vitals listed, so far. We do know he was a family man, but there has to be more than that. We don't even know if he has a brother or sister.

Just some thoughts . . .

All good questions. Did he ever go to ball game? Sports fan?
Yankees? Mets?
IIRC, IM stated he never went out with friends.

I read otherwise, union FB I believe. I read he would have a beer with the guys, IIRC. Don't ask me where I saw it, might be rumor, but I know I read it. Union has a FB page. :twocents:
