Wouldn't it be funny if the warden had a Matt painting hanging in his office!

With a secret compartment behind it where he hides the rest of the donuts.

(in case anyone missed it, Tillie's "baked goods" that she was winning favors with were donuts. Can't make this stuff up.)

Who was on a special program? Not Matt/Sweat from what I have read. Also, is it fact about a fabric guitar case?

Link please. :)

Both were wearing jeans, Mr. Lewis said. The heavyset man was carrying a canvas bag, and the slimmer man, who was wearing a white T-shirt, had a black fabric guitar case, Mr. Lewis said.

Mr. Wylie confirmed that Mr. Sweat had kept a guitar in his cell and may have been carrying tools and clothes inside a fabric case that night.

I believe I've heard the DA refer to it as a fabric or soft case sometime back. TV interview...I have no link.

I think the DA has said the Tillie saw was used by Matt for his cell and a power tool was used for Sweats cell.

.

I never heard that bit. Can you hazard a guess as to where or when you might have seen or read that?

While we're talking about tripping the fuses, I read or saw on tv in the past week that they used to do that intentionally just to gain access back there. Does anyone else remember reading/seeing this BEFORE Palmer was arrested?

I think that in an interview on CNN former inmate EJ said that. JMO

I remember seeing it on TV...Not in the last couple of days. I can't recall what show but prob was on CNN.

I was watching him last night and was thinking what a great DA...he answers everything he's asked, unlike all of the others you see.

Thanks you're probably right then because that's where I kept thinking I'd seen it! But it wasn't last night or the day before, which was when he was on there the most. Was he on there previously, do you know? I just can't place it but thought it was an ex-inmate.

did they have a noon update today? there's a sleepover here so I was making pancakes and didnt' even think to check.

CO's 2 bed/1bath small home built around 2004

I hope they rip through his financial transactions. Although wife has cancer or has been very ill, he would have fairly solid insurance nearly 28 years on the job. And though illness of that kind can put a dent on finances even with coverage, I'd like to know where all his money has been placed.

He has an extremely red complexion. Either a very white, white skin tone that is sunburned OR does he visit the Casinos often? Gambles, lost or owes money, etc? Just speculating

Regarding the questions about the size of the house, it could be that they built a small home because of the wife's illness. A smaller home might have been intentional as it's easier on the sick person and caregiver. When my bro-in-law became sick, he and my sister downsized considerably. They wanted a small home on one floor that didn't cost very much money.

I have NO IDEA if this is the case here, but it could be.

JMO.

My humble opinion on the warden's silence - he's PO'd and probably was asking for changes all this time and probably nobody listened to him and now he can't say anything because of being bound by whatever same thing Gene Palmer said he was bound by, but when this is all done I bet the warden fires a ton of people, resigns voluntarily, and then is ALL OVER media and even writes a book.

JMO

This current superintendent was actually brought in to straighten the prison out, after the previous one was forced to take retirement or be fired because of his laxness. This only happened a year ago, take a few months either side.

Interesting no word from the Warden. Ever. Yet not. IMO once this Investigation is complete (of the prison) there will be some other folks gondy.

New York prison superintendent in spotlight after convicts escape

<snip>

How all of this went undetected at New York's largest prison is under investigation by the state's inspector general, which has the authority to seize documents and question witnesses, including Racette.

"The question that will have to be asked is, 'To what extent was he literally superintending the operation of the prison?'" said Martin Horn, a former prison official in New York City and Pennsylvania who now lectures at John Jay College of Criminal Justice in New York.

"Were there things that he knew but failed to act on, or didn't know but should have known? Was he diligently insuring that the requisite procedures were in place, and were being adhered to?"

The official briefed on the case, who is not authorized to comment publicly, said investigators are probing whether Palmer unwittingly assisted the escapees by giving them tools. The official said the escapees may have duped Palmer into providing the tools by repeatedly tripping a breaker that fed electricity to their cells and telling the officer they could fix the problem with simple hand tools.

At first Wylie wasn't saying much, but now he's sharing quite a bit, so much so that it actually that it surprises me. He seems to empathize with Joyce Mitchell and Gene Palmer, IMO, and I'm a bit surprised by that, too. Perhaps "empathize" is the wrong word, but I can't think of another one. Maybe he seems sympathetic to them in some way, IYKWIM. From the start, he seemed to believe Joyce Mitchell's story when others, myself included, thought she was lying her butt off about standing M&S up at the manhole. But I'm starting to believe she really was their plan A.

The investigation that led authorities eventually to question Mr. Sweat began when Ms. Mitchell, an industrial training supervisor, wrote in January to prison Superintendent Steven Racette and told him a female co-worker was spreading rumors that she was in an intimate relationship with Mr. Sweat, according to a person familiar with the investigation.

<snip>

Mr. Sweat told investigators that Ms. Mitchell had never gotten along with either the female co-worker who allegedly spread the rumors or a male supervisor. He also told investigators that this other female worker “hated” him.

Mr. Sweat told the investigators there were rumors that the female worker and the male supervisor were in a relationship.

BBM^^

So this would be allegations of Another Female Employee in the Tailor Shop who was having a relationship with a Male Supervisor.

It is she who would have been the female that was allegedly spreading rumors about Tillie that led Tillie to write to the Superintendent.

It's sounding more and more like a soap opera with every passing day.

Over the next few days I think we will be extremely dependent on you local people for the latest information. All the MSM is talking about is today's Supreme Court decision and I believe another ruling is due to be announced tomorrow. Tillie has lost the headlines.

The scanner is offline and twitter has gone crazy! Anyone know anything?
