Palmer even hid paint tubes bc Sweat had a cell inspection coming up due to an investigation [of Sweat]. So Palmer had Matt come into the catwalk w/him and Palmer took tubes from Matt & hid them.

p 6/6

He knows he's doing something against the rules when he has to hide stuff for them.

He's confessing all of this, so what's he hiding? Another question, why doesn't the prison have camera's on the cat walk? That's just not smart, there should be camera's all over the entire prison.

TWCNews says Palmer used a credit card to pay his $25K bail and was released shortly after midnight last night. They don't sound like they have anything new right now but I've got it on in the background for now.

Yea, Palmer prob'ly has financial probs. Nearly 28 yrs working at same facility; not high cost of living there, etc

MSNBC (Thomas Roberts) interviewing Brian Mann (the NPR reporter who interviewed Palmer about a decade ago when getting a tour of the prison).

Mann says Palmer seemed "disgruntled" about working there.

North Country Public Radio reports (http://n.pr/1CwgiBR) Gene Palmer talked to the upstate New York station in 2000 about what it's like to work at Clinton Correctional Facility, a maximum-security state prison in Dannemora where he has worked since 1987.

Palmer told the interviewer: "With the money that they pay you, you'll go bald, you'll have high blood pressure, you'll become an alcoholic, you'll divorce, and then you'll kill yourself."

For someone who doesn't make very much he has a pretty healthy credit line, putting $25K bail on a credit card at the drop of a hat. JMO.

I imagine cameras are getting more and more common as time goes on. Maybe in another decade all prisons will have all spaces monitored by camera, and perhaps Matt/Sweat will be one of the last great prison breaks in the USA.

No way does he have financial problems, to have and maintain a credit line of $25K or more you have to keep a FICO score up above 740 and more likely right up towards 800 and it also takes YEARS of responsible credit behavior. I know more about that stuff than any case I've ever contributed on here, and then some... not to say he couldn't owe someone money who doesn't report to the 3big credit bureaus in the US, but generally someone with long-term good credit/financial behavior isn't going to get into that kind of situation.

Could have actually been a debit card. Many times they serve as a so-called credit card... and many people refer to them as credit cards.

I believe bail is only 10% so $2500?

His sick wife has been mentioned a few times, but, grain of salt, DailyMail reports that he lives with his girlfriend of some time, ML. Pics of her and his music gigs. ?????JMO

Neighbors described Mr. Palmer as an affable man who played guitar in a band called Just Us.

The night after Mr. Matt and Mr. Sweat escaped, Mr. Palmer gave his neighbors words of caution.

“He said, ‘Watch your dog; that’s a very smart dog you have, pay attention,’” said Sandy O’Neill, who lives across Reservoir Road from Mr. Palmer. “He said, ‘Don’t go walking in the woods by yourself, bring your dog. Watch if there’s anything different about him.’”

Ms. O’Neill said that one of Mr. Palmer’s jobs was to escort Mr. Matt and Mr. Sweat from their cells to the prison tailor shop, where they were supervised by Ms. Miller, the civilian employee.

“He knew the two inmates and he knew Joyce; his job was to take them from their cells to where they worked,” Ms. O’Neill said. “He said he never had any problem with them.”

Wait a minute.

Am I recalling correctly that the 2 convicts were spotted with a guitar case shortly after the manhole breakout?

Look who happens to live near the subway shop and plays guitar.
An old guitar case would make a handy carrying bag for supplies needed to stay in the wild. Food, extra chlothes, maybe a small tent

... and could appear to be a duffle bag left on a porch(?).

Feels pretty quiet up here. Haven't seen any large groups go off so law enforcement must be checking out leads in the woods #PrisonBreakNY

Going live with @GretchenCarlson then I'll see if I can find some teams out on these side roads before heading to court for Palmer update

JMO Well, one of them could be armed, but the other may be missing a few limbs, by now....JMO

If these two are in the woods, who the heck is feeding them? Three weeks groceries for two very active grown men... that's a lot of calories needed.
