Has this been posted yet - says story released 15 mins. ago - - I haven't read it yet, but noticed that police had to do A RAID on Palmer's home cuz' of Palmer BURNING AND BURYING EVIDENCE. OMG IMO ! http://nypost.com/2015/06/25/prison-guard-traded-favors-for-escaped-killers-art/

“There was indication they were burning paintings and [police] executed a search warrant,” said Clinton County District Attorney Andrew Wylie."

It says "they" were burning"... not "he was burning". Who is "they"???

That's what I want to know to!

As to that NYPost article, I find it weird that one of Palmer's bestie's, neighbor lady his age, said Palmer told her he NEVER took anything from Matt or Sweat, was only 'Good Samaritan' giving them drill bits & screwdriver and saws to help them cook up burgers on their hotplate on the catwalk .... hmmmmmm - is there a 'fish' icon here, as in 'fish tale'.... ??:thinking: Additional creepiness as to Palmer lying to one of his bestie's, and I am mega creeped out by Palmer's lawyer's public statements - Palmer's lawyers fish story on this is that Palmer is an Altar Boy and all of this was caused by you know... Tillie ... omg.....:hand: :alien3:

I am thinking that Matt was the PR guy and art dealer, but Sweat was the artist. Matts family would know if he is an artist....has anyone seen any of his artwork from previous incarcerations? That is pretty much a raw talent from a very young age.....although, who ever knew that Dubya was an artist? Very curious. JMO

So when someone is arrested in a case we can sleuth them, so I'm sleuthing Mr. Palmer right now in order to get his address so I can see the proximity to the Subway and perhaps look at maps a bit. Might as well share the info here since I'm sure I'm not the only one doing this. It says 60 Reservoir Rd, Cadyville, NY (right off of 26). http://www.homes.com/property/60-reservoir-rd-cadyville-ny-12918/id-400019106507/ - it's on a 9 acre lot. So I guess the woods he burned some paintings in was probably on his own property (but don't know for sure)... not going anywhere with this just sleuthing. feel free to join me!

Thank you for looking that up, GGE. So, Palmer's house is just 1 mile east of the prison. The land between the prison and his house is all forest. The Mobile Gas Station/Subway Shop is just 1/2 mile due south of Palmer's house, on the intersection of Reservoir Rd and 374. This is quite curious, as the escapees were most likely at that Subway shop several days after the escape (the dogs picked up their scent there on Thursday, 4 days after the escape, AFTER 3 days of rain). It didn't make sense to me that they would linger so close to the prison. Were they hanging out in the woods behind Palmer's house? Or...IN his house??? Did they threaten his sick wife, as they did Tillie's husband?

I've been wondering about that also. In this video an ex-inmate who got paintings said they were from Matt.

Last night another ex-inmate on AC360 said it was Sweat who was the artist. Video from that interview:

How is there even disagreement about who the artist is?
It seems like that should be a clear fact to people associated with the prison.

I imagine cameras are getting more and more common as time goes on. Maybe in another decade all prisons will have all spaces monitored by camera, and perhaps Matt/Sweat will be one of the last great prison breaks in the USA.

Actually, a guy even managed to break out with a camera IN HIS CELL.
I have to laugh at this one... the guy had a history of escape.
The Warden basically CHALLENGED him to try and escape from HIS jail. :giggle:

They GOT it from Matt, not that Matt painted it. JMO

Yeah...that's what is so bizarre about this. The artist had to have been seen painting, by any number of people. Unless he was just painting instead of panting in Tillies Tailor Closet...JMO

Does it seem like these two are staying in the same area like they are waiting for someone to pick them up? Not like they were trying to get as far away from the prison as possible. What does the guy with all of the pictures that was in Clinton have so many pics for? Does he sell them? JMO

According to the documents, the package was a "green-colored, woven cloth bag" approximately 12 inches by 5 inches containing more than a pound of frozen hamburger meat.

The beef was packaged in styrofoam with plastic wrap but no price sticker on it, the statements said. There were also allegedly two tubes of paint and a "small, green cloth item."

The next day, he took the package and delivered it to Matt through his cell.

"I cannot remember providing him with anything else," he allegedly said.

Any ideas about what the "small green cloth item" is or was used for?

I'm thinking a soft cloth to wipe the fingerprints of others (who were assisting the cons) from metal, from pipes, etc

Buns and condiments?:thinking:

I have started three posts and deleted them realizing, I really have nothing of importance to add that will aid in the capture of these two.

I hate feeling that way! Ugh.

LOL You are not alone RE: capture, but the sordid details are fun to speculate about. JMO

I'd say both Matt & Sweat are artists.

The friend in the video above>those are Matt's celebrity portraits.

Erik, former inmate, has described Sweat's paintings as very intricate, detailed. Wonder what they are of.

NY Times below:

<snip>

The criminal complaint describes Mr. Palmer swapping tools for the two inmates’ paintings, which he worked to destroy after the escape. He burned a number of the paintings in a fire pit at his home, and tried to bury others in a wooded area in Dannemora, the complaint says.

Different paintings done by Mr. Matt for a friend with whom he had served time show several richly detailed portraits of celebrities and politicians, including one of Hillary Clinton with a tight smile and Martin Luther King Jr. in a thoughtful pose.

<snip>

James Flateau, who spent 21 years as the department’s spokesman and was the report’s principal author, said he was struck by the similarities between the escape from Elmira [Timothy A. Vail in 2003] and the latest from Clinton.

Speaking of Mr. Palmer, he said: “The officer who was taking gifts out of the jail, upon his exit the officer at the gate should have said ‘What is this?’ And there should have been an investigation that caught that the inmate was giving gifts to staff.”
