I had to put my lab down a month ago. My golden retriever died unexpectedly 3 years ago. I'm dogless for the first time in 13 years. I miss them both.

LOVE these! We have 7 puppies for sale right now. I should have totally done dog themed pumpkin carving in their honor!

Just want to get this off my chest - I think the posters here are so thoughtful and intelligent. I read the GOLO posts on WRAL web site regarding this case and the comments there hurt my brain from being so unthoughtful and unintelligent. You go ladies and gentlemen!!

Someone mentioned in another thread something to the effect of "Two e-mail addresses is definitely "hinky" here!"

My question is...how many people have just one e-mail address, and how many use multiple addresses??

I have one that I use for the majority of my personal communication, one that I use for resume & professional related stuff (which is my name@aol.com), one that I use for Ebay, one I use for financial stuff (makes it easier to weed out the phishing!), a very old e-mail address that I just like...and a few I use to 'play' on/reply to message boards & Craigslist, etc. as well as my work e-mail.

I can't imagine just having 1 e-mail address! I am down to just 1 personal phone number though.

I understand the love for our puppers...oh how well I understand. Madame (not her real name) is 9 years old and I treasure every day I've had her (since she was 8 weeks old). I couldn't love her more even if she were human.

Hi Amarillo! I think this is the best place for crime/case discussion too!

I'm so sorry. I understand that pain. We put down two dogs in one year, and my husband's mother died in between.

I'm so sorry NCSU95. If you decide to get another, please consider rescue. :blowkiss:

I have several.

I'm so sorry about your loss, NCSU. :frown:

Thank you. I've never had to do anything like that and cried like a freaking baby with snot pouring down my face as it was happening. I was holding her face and looking right at her nearly nose to nose. I've never let her lick me in the face because I've seen what she would eat and lick....but right as the vet started injecting the drugs, she licked me 3 times on the nose then went limp. I won't be getting animals again for a long time.

OMG...I'm a basket case just thinking about it. I'll need a padded room and a psychiatrist on speed dial. I made her a promise though, the day I brought her home: I vowed that I would always do what was best for her and when the time came I would not prolong her suffering and would do the right thing for her. There probably isn't a month that goes by when I don't think about that and reaffirm my commitment. < sniff >

AAACCCKKK! Tears streaming here. I can totally relate. We had to put our 12 year old black lab to sleep this past winter. The vet came to the house to do it and all 3 of our kids were there holding her and kissing her. It still knocks the wind out of me to think about it today. She had a brain tumor and was not enjoying life and we hated watching our sweetest girl suffer when she had done nothing but bring us joy every day of her life. My youngest (9) chased after her when they were carrying her out - to hug her one last time. We'll never stop missing her - but I can tell you we did go and get another puppy (we still have another dog as well) and she has helped me a lot. You can and should love again. They don't replace, but they console. I'm so sorry for your loss NCSU. hugs.

p.s. here is a Halloween picture of our new pup to cheer u.... your baby now has real angel wings

I was the same way. She had a huge tumor growing on her front arm. We (vet and I) made the decision a year ago that it would be best not to do anything about it. She was still getting around okay, but I knew it was a matter of months for her at this point. Well, one morning, my wife told me she was limping. We were supposed to take her to my moms the next day because we were going on vacation. I was upstairs and I heard her fall down. I went downstairs and she was kind of stuck. So I helped her up and she couldn't put any weight on her back leg. I carried her outside to use the bathroom and she had a really hard time since she couldn't squat. I knew then it would be that day (which I certainly wasn't expecting or planning for). I waited until the end of the day to see if it got better for her but it didn't. It was really hard. I got her ashes back the next day and they are sitting beside the ashes of my golden.

I will one day...but I'm nowhere near ready. I'm actually looking forward to the freedom that comes without having one for a while (ie, impromptu trips to the beach, mountains, wherever). Of course, my second daughter (to go along with our 5 year old daughter) is due within the next 2 weeks. That's kind of like a new puppy, right?

Awww...I'm so sorry to hear that. That must have been hard. I think that animals are really family members.

((HUGS))

I didn't say "hinky". :) I said I thought he had something to hide. If you have nothing to hide, you would continue to use your normal email addresses instead of creating TWO new ones.

And apparently, I'm some sort of freak because I only have two emails total...my home one and the one from work (which I don't count because I don't give it out). I didn't realize people had so many!! :)

A lot of people have ones they use for purchasing things on line. It creates way too much spam to use a regular one.
