The letter by AW to her MIL (FW) was discussed by the defense when AW testified against her son.

Nash brought up a letter Angela wrote to her mother-in-law after she was arrested, asking her to read it aloud for the jury.

"There is so much no one will ever know," read Angela.

In the letter, she'd told Fredericka that everything she'd pleaded guilty to was a lie; Angela clarified this was because, after the deal, she'd forgotten why she faced charges for things like burglary and firearms charges when she hadn't been at the scenes of the murders. She told Nash she reconvened with her lawyers, who explained her charges to her again, which she now understands.

The intent of the writing her mother-in-law, Angela said, had been to try and explain herself to Fredericka, so the matriarch wasn't upset about her cooperation with the state.

Like John Parker had with Jake, Nash questioned Angela about whether she could be believed, since cooperating with the prosecution meant she had to testify to their liking in order for the death specifications to be dropped from the charges faced by the family. Angela pushed back, insisting that regardless of her plea deal, she was telling the truth.

She'd dragged her own mother into an octuple homicide case, Nash pointed out, and made her complicit in the crimes, asking her to lie to police for the family.

"I did not talk her into it, I just did not talk her out of it," said Angela.

Aw's such a piece of work. She forgot nothing, good lie though. Also, she wanted FW to know that whatever she said about BW is untrue, if/when it comes out. She had to save their lives, and have a chance to see her grandkids. She wanted her to know as well that it was Rs who were damning her family, just for someone to convict. Very loosely quoted.

Gives some intersting details Angie said in her testimony it quotes Angie's testimony. Recommend everyone read this.

Fred offered to lie about the shoes. She is more involved with the cover up than I thought. I feel now she knew what her family had done. I think it's possible she was willing to help cover 8 murders. If so, very appalling.

This is a small bit of Angela's testimony from the article - there is a lot more of her testimony in the article than just what I am posting here about Fred offering to lie about the shoes:

In April 2017, the family decided to move to Alaska after selling their farm on Peterson Road, but not after discussing it thoroughly, Angela told the jury. Billy was on the fence about leaving, particularly because his father was very sick, and his mother, Fredericka, didn't want him to leave either, Angela said.

Billy's mother "had a very big crying episode" over the idea of Billy moving with the family, Angela said. Fredericka offered to pay Angela $1,000 a month if the family stayed in Ohio, but Angela declined, she said.

Angela said she wouldn't have made the move at all if she'd known how sick her own father was at the time.

When agents detained and questioned the family at the U.S. and Canadian border on their way back from Alaska, Angela admitted she was caught off guard by questions about the Walmart shoes she'd purchased. She said she didn't remember that she'd left the receipt for the shoes behind;

FREDERICKA LATER OFFERED TO LIE AND TELL INVESTIGATORS THE SHOES WERE BOUGHT FOR BILLY'S DAD, BUT ANGELA SAID SHE DECLINED BECAUSE SHE'D ALREADY LIED TO OFFICERS ABOUT THEM.

I think she believed them. Just like AW's mother got sucked into. I've read it and followed it all, from April 22nd, 2016, and just don't really post that many links these days. As we all know, we can find much of the trial reported, on the internet. I've read the same stuff as y'all. Anything I post now, is jm2¢, from watching and reading for the past six years. I went from think G4 might possibly have gone free, to understanding why not after doing the extra reading that was released, and listening to leaked audio. I don't only read nor listen on one site. It becomes an echo chamber of a handful of views.

I shared no links here, nor transcripts on here. I did share initials of the site where I listened, the individual was in the courtroom, reported on the courtroom activities, testimony, etc..., and purchased the transcript themselves. My post was removed. Has the one you filed in the records, been verified by WS? Does WS have verifiers for this? Who? I'd like to see that one submitted. Does any of them cut the mustard? or No. JM2.

No, I believe its been removed.

I'm not sure how to access the transcript to enable linking here as verified info. I'm not too concerned about it because the reporters covered it fairly well. JMO

Jake will testify again during Billy's trial, so we'll hear the story again and will be able to see if anything has changed.

They couldn't do it justice. As much as I appreciated their coverage, until I heard it/read it, myself, I could not see how they could convict G4. After? I didn't see how they couldn't. I feel I understand more about what happened at CR1's now and can see G4's role. I can also understand more questions I had. You may not be too concerned b/c you were never looking at the case as a juror, but only for a conviction. I played juror.

I personally would like a copy approved and added in a case that I've spent six years following on this site, among others. I'm disappointed it hasn't already been done.

Due to this information as well as other info revealed at trial and prior to the arrests, I really hope the state pursues some criminal charges against FW and possibly RW. JMO, there's still a possibility one or both may continue to interfere with the trials or create problems for witnesses who testified.

I also believe one or both may be active on social media trying to keep their relatives from being arrested, tried and convicted. JMO

Rita Jo Newcomb admitted her guilt and assisted the prosecution. She even testified at GW4's trial, something that was probably difficult to do. The other Wagners did not.

RJN is not a W nor has she ever been, but the W's did have family who testified... Were FW or RW called to testify? For either side? I don't recall it, but I'd have to do a search to be certain.

This came up before and it was posted that both FW and RW were not called to testify. They were under a subpoena to testify.

Some were of the opinion that FW and RW were not seen in the gallery because they were under subpoena. I personally doubt they would have come though - if not under subpoena - because to have all this negative information come out about George in front of all those family members present would have been too hard to take I think.

I didn't recall that they were called to testify. If that were my grandson or my nephew, I'd be hard-pressed to be there unless called to be.

I agree with you. The more I see and read what the jury saw and heard, I understand why it didn’t take long to agree on a guilty verdict. I doubt there was much discussion about the majority of evidence. I had read the jury seemed very attentive and took notes.
I read some of the transcripts of JW and GWIV talking. GWIV is about as paranoid as you can get. He even worried about the house door not being barred because someone could come in and take Vine. He said he would do anything to protect Vine and Sophia from Beth and anyone else who might molest them.
No one in that family has a thought process close to what an average person has…
My opinions only…

If that were my grandson or my nephew I would want to go to hear their testimony first hand so I could better understand what was going through their minds.

Angela wrote FW because she was worried about FW thinking badly of her for testifying against her son, she wanted to make excuses for that to try to stay in FW's good graces.

"In the letter, she'd told Fredericka that everything she'd pleaded guilty to was a lie...............
The intent of the writing her mother-in-law, Angela said, had been to try and explain herself to Fredericka, so the matriarch wasn't upset about her cooperation with the state......"

But what is odd is that then Angela turns around and makes FW look really bad by saying something against FW she absolutely did not have to say. She said FW offered to lie for her. That FW would tell the investigators that Angela bought the shoes for FW's husband rather than for Jake and George.

That is a pretty damning thing to say about FW on the record in court.

Why say it? My guess is because Angela did not get the response she wanted from FW when Angela sent her the letter. I have a hunch that if FW was being all supportive towards Angela like paying for phone calls with her, giving her money and gifts and so forth, that Angela never would have said this about FW.

This just isn't something you say about someone you are happy with. Angela had no reason to say this other than to make FW look bad.

Angela is one of the worst people I know of, bashing the Rhodens, only testifying to her own stress under the investigation, no remorse or concern whatsoever for the 8 victims.

You said in Angela's letter she blamed the Rhodens for getting arrested - "that it was Rs who were damning her family, just for someone to convict."

She tries to make the Rhodens out as killers:

Her testimony:

"...she was worried that, if BCI continued showing people in the area evidence pointing to the Wagners, the Rhodens would get suspicious and "come and kill Jake and all of us."

And she blamed the Rhodens for the murders by falsely accusing them of abuse.

Actually there was Wagner testimony at the trial about Billy giving the murder truck to his niece. I think the niece testified. At least one Wagner relative testified.

Not sure what you mean about:

Exactly. Yes, you're right, I'd want to hear their testimony, but, if I felt they had done what they'd done, facing the R and G families would take a Herculean effort. I'm just guessing but I'd say she put up with a lot over the years and is tired of their b.s. and now, it's Murder, and of eight people, for no good reason. Her grandsons and son actually gave a horrific gift to her dying husband. A goosebox with the gun parts for anchors. How awful is that?

I think the other Wagner brother and his family have cooperated very well with LE, not so much the others.

As for FW and RW, testimony and evidence in GW4's trial showed their actions after the murders showed some level of complicity in helping cover up the murders. RW allowed the Peterson Rd Wagners to hide their guns in her bedroom while they were in AK. As noted above, FW offered to help AW lie about the shoes she bought for the murders at Walmart. Neither have expressed any sadness nor shown sympathy for the murders of the 7 Rhoden family members and Hannah Gilley. Their only concern has been protecting the reputation of their family and trying to get their family acquitted by actions like lying to the grand jury.

Sorry for the multiple posts. This cold weather has affected my connectivity. It drops and reconnects now and then.

Hope you and everyone else here is doing well during this terrible weather. We've had a few times where the power went off briefly. I feel sorry for anyone whose power is out in these temperatures. Take care.

You must know these folks. Personally. I've taken my firearms out of the home before. They certainly couldn't take them to AK. Why would RW wonder. We are a region of firearm owners. Nothing odd about that and they were NOT the murder weapons...

AW Lies. She's a lying liar, who lied to get her own mother to cover for her, saying it was to keep her from being killed. RJN lied for them to the GJ.

Yeah... AW's a fount of virtue and truth on the stand, or in her letters, and calls? Nopers on all three.

Don't forget, Fredericka Wagner was overheard in conversations discussing taking revenge against persons not arrested and in helping make plans for escape.

Special Prosecutor Angie Canepa alleged a confidential informant told them of a meeting at Wagner's home with her family members where they had "conversations surrounding if one or more of them were arrested what the others were to do including taking revenge on those persons not arrested" and plans for escape. She also alleged they spoke of taking revenge on a special agent, Pike County Sheriff Charles Reader, and Attorney General Mike DeWine.

As for expressing sympathy to the Rhoden family, Fredericka has given quite a few interviews in the news media over the years. She's never once expressed any sympathy or sadness at the tragic and untimely deaths of the murder victims.

What is really weird is that before her charges were dismissed when she was trying to look good in her Plains Dealer interview and in those short video clips, all done with her attorney in her kitchen, she said everybody loved Hanna and she considered Jake and Hanna married and that Chris and Billy were best friends.

Then right after her charges were dismissed she told a journalist in the court lobby that she didn't even know those people, she was referring to the Rhodens.

I can't figure out what is going on with her saying 2 different things. First she knows them then she totally dismisses them.
