Jmo has his attorneys changed their minds or are they repeating the stories Jake has told?
George's attorneys represent George.

George's attorneys have changed George's narrative 180 degrees from their pretrial arguments.

In pretrial they claim he only went along to 'protect' Jake. Now G's defense is claiming he knew anything about the murder plot.

IMO Jake's confession 'should' not have anything to do with George's attorneys, George just needs to simply tell the truth.

The truth is George's attorneys were not truthful in one of their statements, either pretrial or opening statements.

Who is lying?

My lack of gun knowledge will show here, but I have to ask...the gun JW said he shot CRs with belonged to his brother, correct? Do you guys buy that he took it from his brother, shot CRs, and handed the gun back to his brother to pick up shells? As I was getting ready for work, I listened to pretty lies and alibis, and she mentioned that as part of JWs testimony or did I hear that wrong?
Here's the link in case anyone else had questions about it.

Starts just before they arrived at CRs house.

Oops:

Parker says you laid in the back of the truck for 20 minutes or longer to get to
Union Hill and you didn't stop on the way and Jake says we did stop and so Eric said everybody in the
courtroom kind of set up and he said that Billy stopped the truck and told Jake if you want to back out now is the
time to do it he pulled off in a little just a little area like a pull-off area

Jake said he didn't want to back out let's do this and Jake said the total time he was in the truck from when they
left Peterson to when he got out at Chris seniors to get under the truck to shoot him was about an hour
once he got out Jake said he rolled from one truck to another truck before he shot Chris senior
he was under a silver truck that was in the driveway and he was in the rear tire
area and he says that he shot Chris while he was standing in his door

after he shot Chris senior he gave the SKS back to George and immediately started picking up the casings
and that's around the time Billy comes out freaking out

Parker said your dad was inside when inside when you fired
the SKS and you you could have hit him.

apparently Jake starts kind of laughing
and Parker's like why are you smiling and Jake said he smiles in the worst situations

and you know uh he said
between firing the SKS and going inside Chris senior's house was about a minute or two and
he asked Jake when did you hear the shots in the house after you took the
shot at Chris senior and he said it was pretty much immediately after he stopped shooting he said it took a minute or two to calm Billy down

Edit: I personally don't buy it.

I think he walked in the front door.
There was a security lock high up on the front door. They put it there because Frankie's little boy was prone to going out the door and down to his grandpa's place.

But it's because they have JW's proffer. JW has been changing his story.
But if George has told his attorneys the truth, why does George's story keep changing?

I'll admit I do not understand how proffers work in terms of a witness at trial.

So here is as much as I understand. Jake's Proffer was about 12 hours long.
Does the prosecution just say to him - tell us the story of what happened and just keep taping until he stops talking?
Can they ask him to respond to certain questions? During the recording of the proffer can they confront him with evidence so that he has the opportunity to change his story/proffer?

I'd appreciate anyone with legal expertiece weighing in, so that we all better understand the legal process of a proffer.

Thanks, JMO

It wasn't very secure if the child could slide the lock. An adult can slide those locks. I've lived in places with slide locks. Scotch your doors and windows if you have only chain slides or plain locks.

George's attorneys must have have lied in one of their statements.

Pretrial - George only went along to protect Jake
Trial - George knew nothing about the murders and did not go along.

One is false.

JMO
I think they discovered, after opening, that JW confessed, initially, to his law team, that he'd murdered all eight. I believe that was new info to them. I think it was.

If so, why would Jake lie about such a relatively trivial thing? He hasn't demonstrated a pattern of doing that yet.

And if handle not locked more than likely back door not locked either jmo
But what possible motive would Jake have had to lie about how he entered FR and HHG's?

Does it matter if he entered through a window or walked through an unlocked door? Jake then went on to murder FR and HHG. He admits as such.

JMO

I have a guess. Jake lied about that.

JMO
He absolutely could be lying. So is the real story that GW was there to..kill people and not act as a watch dog? And Jake is downplaying the extent of GW's real involvement? What was his real role that night? Killer but chickened out? Maybe he wasn't there at all. I guess it really doesn't matter since he doesn't have to be placed at the scene to be convicted. But I'd really love to know what happened. All IMO.

I don't doubt you, but how would defense attorneys have suddenly realized this after opening statements?

Does the area Jake states line up with gun expert? I thought the gun guy said the shots came from yard, in the area of the bush hog. Jmo

DISCREPANCIES IN JW TESTIMONY:

I know there were some discrepancies. Can anyone tell me specifically which parts of Jake’s story changed (from prosecution testimony to defense cross) OR don’t align with witness testimony? This is what I have:

1) Jake said they walked into Dana’s unlocked front door.
**KR testimony: “they ALWAYS locked the doors*.

2) Jake said the lights were on at Dana’s, the whole house was lit up.
**JM testified he had to feel around on the bed for Dana

3) Jake said when he went in, he could see Dana in her room, on her bed, from the hall. He froze when baby K cried. He went into DR’s room, could see she was on her phone by light from phone. Shot her; then went to Hanna’s room. Shot her. Went back & shot DR again, then back to Hanna again & put her back on bed (so K could nurse). Then shot CRjr.
**on cross exam: Jake said Dana’s door was shut & locked. And some nonsense about looking under the door & seeing the light from her phone. I think he may have also said he shot CRjr more times than CRjr was actually shot.

4) Went into FR’s through back window, opened back door for dad & bro. Saw little BR on couch. Shot FR then leaned over & shot HHG. Left via back door.
**On cross exam: Shot FR & HHG. Handed gun to dad & while he picked up spent shells, dad shot FR & HHG again.

Anything else?
