This has been bothering me. RSD1200 and others have pointed out that if CR2 was between the wall and bed he may have woke up and tried to hide. If LM is correct LE had to go into his bedroom three times to find him.

So if he was trying to hide and it took LE that many times to find him, how did the killer see him in the dark?
Who said that no lights had been turned on (that it was dark)?

Maybe he was trying to hide just as they were entering the room and they saw him trying to hide.

Maybe they knew he was there so knew to look. Obviously the bed would of had to have been pulled out from the wall.

Maybe upon entering the room it wasn't really obvious that someone was between the bed and wall and LE probably had no idea who all was in the home at the time of the shootings.

I hear you on where the focus really needs to be and it is on the drugs that are highly addictive and that destroy lives and families and kill people. I suppose someone somewhere has died from smoking pot, but I came up in the 70's and just about everyone did it in high school and college and no one I knew ever died from it. In fact, just about everyone went on to lead productive, decent lives. The same can't be said for meth, heroin, etc.

I graduated high school in the late 60s in a small town in rural Ohio. I didn't know anyone that had even tried pot till I was in my 20s. Almost all were people coming home from being in military service or college. I don't know a hard core pot user that leads a productive life. Some occasional users have though....But, I can say the same about alcohol users...

Wasn't this said after the bio mother had died? So, he wouldn't be taking her from her bio mother but from the foster family she was placed with. Also, if the father can't be determined then her 1/2 sister is her closest relative and they should be together IMO
I agree here...if there's no family stepping forward and he's willing to take K then it's the logical choice...same if RR is not taken by family let him be raised with his brother if the mother of BR is willing and able

If what the reporter in the video is saying is accurate, LM told him his son sent the text at 2 a.m. In a different interview LM said his son sent the text earlier but it wasn't opened until 2 a.m.

What we are hearing is what the reporter says he was told. He could be wrong, he could have misunderstood LM especially since most posters here have trouble understanding him. I know LM did say it was sent earlier in the interview I saw. So did LM say two different things or is one report wrong?

Exactly why I wish the standard was still 3 independent sources before you run with it.

The bad part is they don't often correct their misquotes. And even if they do, people don't hear it or believe what was said first any way...

You do have to wonder why the two surviving children have been classified as in danger, but the one who shares a parent is not in danger. Something really smelly there.

One had no surviving parent and the other had an unknown parent so there was no surviving parent for them to go to.

Maybe they turned on the light?

Who knows? LE knows.

Sorry if I missed this but who was the couple in the car with BM when she arrived to feed the animals and discovered the murders?

Did they just sit in the car? Did BM call out to them about the murders? I haven't seen anything about them at all. Have they been interviewed as to time of arrival, if they observed BM's actions, demeanor, etc?

Again, I apologize if I missed this information as I have not been able to keep up with every post in these threads.

Is it possible the RR and the baby KR are already with family members?

The article says RR and KR were taken into protective custody and remained in foster care during custody proceedings last year. A gag order in that case prevents anyone from discussing those children.

I wonder who this "he" was. Has it ever been said who called her?

A friend called to tell Robinson about the killings at 8:14 a.m. ET. She didn't believe him. Then he told her Brentley was OK.

Dudly
You're 100% right. That's one reason I don't post often. 75% of posts on these types of forums are
off line. They go off on a tangent of their own. It's hard not to go off topic but if people would focus more on the topic of this forum [who killed the Rhodens] we'd probably be on thread #12. It makes it very hard to keep up. If you miss a day or two than you have to read through 20 pages of mostly drivel to get caught up. I think sometimes people post just to get their count up.

PLEASE, I don't want anyone to take offense at this. That was not my reason for submitting this but Dudly kind off tip toed around the edge and I just jumped in. This has been gnawing at me for a long time. I believe you are all good people on here and will continue to believe that no matter the reaction to this post.

Hi RichP,

So what is your input to the topic "who killed the Rhodens"? You could increase your post count too by making new contributions

Look at your own post history. It's not the first time you criticize the input of others. In particular ideas that turn out to be valuable 6 months later.

Regards,

Jk

What a terrifying thought. I've wondered all along, since DR was on FB at 12:59 a.m., and JM said that he saw her body that morning, if DR was awake, and let them in her home. I really think that she was, and that lights were on in the main house. If so, no harm in turning on lights to find CR2. Might also have had a headlight. I have one that I use when I go outside at night. Mine has a red light on it to help you see in the dark.

The other children have pending custody...JW didn't...he had visitation so had probably established paternity. Until custody is established for the rest the state is making all decisions for these children..JW has the to decide if his child will be protected...and let's not forget BR is in the custody of his mother

This. Both children who had a known surviving parent are with the surviving parent.

No ever said that there were no lights on, or off. I think some of our theories place the victims, as LE stated, murdered in their beds, so we've pictured, in the dark. For me, I'd thought that maybe DR was awake and let them in b/c she was on her computer late that night, and JM said he'd seen her body that morning and backed out (per AM). However, in my mind, I wanted the others to be asleep, in the dark. Then to learn that CR2, the youngest, was trying to hide, to me, it just made me very sad. I have followed this from day one. It's the reason I joined WS. I tried Topix, :notgood: and had been a guest here before, and joined. I feel like I kind of know these people. I do know some people similar to them. I'm even similar in liking vehicles and I would fight for my family. So it kinda burst my bubble when I found out where they found CR2.

Probably, it was reported 2 different ways. The text being sent earlier in the evening and received at 2 am is quite possible as cell coverage likely is spotty in that area. I know that I get a lot of texts hours after they were sent due to me being in areas with poor cell coverage for good parts of my day. Sometimes, it's like my phone is blowing up with texts when I get close to civilization again.

Also some food for thought is that delayed reception of texts can happen when the receiving device is turned off.

Addiction to anything can ruin your life. Be it pot, alcohol, cigarettes, pills, heroin, even food, etc... If you are constantly stoned you may be an unproductive member of society but you aren't going to have to have, for example, Narcan pumped into you, from a Heroin overdose, and be on a life support machine the rest of your life if they don't get enough into you. You can very well die a pretty nasty death from all of the others too, with the exception of pot, smoking pot won't kill you. Alcohol and smokes have been the killers of my friends and family. Heroin and pills are killing my kid's friends and family.

Heart attacks are killing most of mine. We were born with a defect in our heart that causes A-Fib and cardiomyopathy. From my grandfather, right down to the last member of the family, my great niece who is a year and a half and has already had three open heart surgeries. Then again I have a nephew who is in his early fifties and has been an alcoholic since his teens. He drinks every day and is in good health. No heart attacks or heart problems. He has outlived a lot of people in my family who didn't drink, smoke or take drugs so self medicating seems to be doing the trick for him.

So who's to judge the lifestyle of others?

Interesting video:

Reporter Jody Barr on what he has been told by LM:

* JM found the bodies at DR's house
* LM said his son told him he was texting JW at 2 a.m. the night of the murders

I listened to this tape again with the transcript on and I caught this that LM said at about 2:54.

"I would stake my life that my son or my daughter didn't kill the family... I don't know about the rest of them, but I guarantee you....

Now I am wondering what LM meant. The rest of who? His other daughter? Her kids or in-laws? JM's kids? BJM's kids? Other members of his family? JW?

That just seemed like an odd thing to say.

I frequently work in areas that have very spotty cell phone reception. Sometimes texts that my coworkers or family member send me literally come through hours later or even the next day. I have been woken up in the middle of the night by a text that one of my family members sent me in the afternoon it just didn't come through until hours later.
