She has a sister. Her sister has been asking for help since Elizabeth disappeared. I know when Elizabeth went missing, Kerry (sister's name) came down from Cleveland (I think it was Cleveland) to look for her. Elizabeth had some learning disabilities. Not sure what or to what extent. I feel so awful for her.

One common thing the locals that knew Elizabeth all say "she had the most amazing smile for everybody"

A woman who lived with Shawn Grate in Mansfield has not been seen since June, when their landlord kicked each of them out.

The landlord said he thinks the woman is the one whose body was found in Madison Township on Tuesday.

Landlord Jim Cristman said Candice Cunningham was staying at 132 W. Second St. in Mansfield with Grate until June. Cristman said he asked Cunningham to leave because of her drug use just before he kicked Grate out for being belligerent, trashing the apartment and refusing to pay.

Cunningham, 29, of Canton, is not listed as a missing person, according to Mansfield police records. Cunningham's mother did not answer attempts to contact her in Canton.

She has at least 3 FB accounts. The latest one talks a lot about SG and him being in jail. Also says she's married since the end of 2015. Not gonna post them here in case she's not the one they found, but wow. :/

That same article says police took evidence from the apartment where they used to stay:
Richland County Sheriff's deputies went to Grate's former apartment this week, the landlord said.

On Friday, Cristman, standing outside the old brick two-story house, said deputies and a Mansfield detective came to his property on Thursday and took some of Cunningham's things back with them.

"They found two bags of her clothes and a razor and a toothbrush, hopefully they found some DNA," Cristman said.

If the landlord kicked them out back in June why would her things (including a toothbrush) still be in the apartment? Wouldn't he have cleaned it out and re-rented by now? I know it can take time to legally evict someone but this landlord makes it sound like they were out from not paying rent for a long time prior to June. Just seems strange to me. IDK.
 
Walker said Cunningham was filling Grate full of psychotic drugs, crack, heroin and all kinds of stuff, mostly nerve pills and Xanax.

"He used to take them by the handful," Walker said, adding Grate was using Posh, too.

Cristman and Walker had seen Grate be violent.

"Although he always talked about hurting her, but we thought he was just joking around," Walker said. "I watched him choke and slam her (Cunningham) in this room, beat her up at least five or six times towards the end."

Walker said he hung out with Grate, and Grate even dated his ex-girlfriend's mom for a long time.

Grate and Cunningham used to hang out in a woods off Cook Road near Malabar school when they wanted "to get away," Walker said.

Cristman said he and Grate were friends in the beginning. "And towards the end he just got belligerent," Cristman said. "I think he stole some things, but I can't prove it."

Cristman, a former Navy Seal who has helped the downtrodden for 40 years, said after he kicked Grate out of the apartment, his white Ford truck was torched on June 20. According to Mansfield police records, there were no suspects listed on the arson report.

Cristman also allowed Grate to drive his truck and his car at various times when Grate said he was going to visit his child. Grate also took the pickup on work runs for Cristman.

Walker said Grate lived all over Mansfield in vacant houses, even setting up a tent once inside a vacant house.

BBM. This answers when the arson of the truck was (I didn't have an exact date before) hardly seems like a coincidence that the truck burned the same day as the house fire in Richland County. That truck is also the ONLY vehicle we have found so far for Grate. Any crimes involving sightings of a white pick-up should be looked at, IMO. This also tells us every vacant home in the are needs to be checked.
 
Grate is charged with kidnapping in the woman’s abduction. A court document accuses Grate of kidnapping her “to engage in sexual activity.”

An Ashland County Common Pleas judge on Friday assigned Grate an attorney after Grate said he had no money, job or place to live. County Prosecutor Christopher Tunnell said during the hearing that authorities believe Grate also abducted Griffith and Stanley.

Grate has another hearing scheduled for Monday morning.

A couple things: I wonder why he has not also been charged with rape or a sexual offense? Any legal experts? Is kidnapping a more serious charge?

Also, I just wanted to note that the prosecutor and authorities believe he abducted Stacey and Elizabeth as well. This answers some earlier questions I believe.

Maybe he put their things in a storage building or closet.

That's possible, I guess. This landlord was way too trusting to let Grate use his truck. Another article I read said the landlord tried to help Grate get a job but Grate wouldn't do as told and couldn't keep any job.

So the landlord is trying to help out people because he got sober. Both he and CW state they had seen SG be violent with the women, beat her, but they never reported it or called police? It just seems it was a given, since they lived the drug lifestyle but that bothers me alot

If you read the timeline closely he has at least 3. One child was mentioned in the 1999 abduction case. A son was born AFTER that abduction charge. And a later custody/order of protection involves a daughter he had with his wife he married in 2012/divorced it 2013. If the 2003 assault charge on "the mother of his son" is a different child from the 2 mentioned in 1999, he could have 4 kids.
 
The rental he was kicked out of in June was a 5 minute walk from the house on Covert Ct. where he was arrested.

Dollar General on Lexington Avenue in Mansfield --SG allegedly helped someone shoplift here in Oct 2012
Mansfield’s Holiday Inn --he worked as a Maintence man here in 2015
Harmony House in Mansfield -SG was a client there at some point in time
Mansfield Baptist Temple -SG attended church there in the past
Save-a-lot in Ashland--SG worked there most recently, mentioned it in Friday's hearing

ETA: "woods off Cook Road near Malabar school" --I think this is Mansfield? SG used to go there with his girlfriend to "get away"

Clearly emotional she continued: ‘I didn’t know it went back so far. I guess I can say I’m just glad that he’s got a conscience and now he’s stopped. It’s too bad it’s too late for the victims. It’s just so very sad and I’m praying for them and their families. I’m praying for him too.

So am I reading this wrong or is the Marion body from at least 3 years ago??

‘I don’t think it’s anybody he knew. It’s just like those girls in Ashland I know he didn’t know them but he may know that one girl who he had captive.
