It's also been reported to me that people from Michigan cross over to Ohio for better prices on gasoline, cigarettes and beer because there are less tax on these products, if they are close enough, the price differences can be worth while.

I had to go out and have come back to confusion! I mean wth? Seriously, suspicious but not runaway or kidnapped? IDK what is left either, alien abduction? I mean yeah I know it's a corn field but cmon. Wasn't it being treated as a kidnapping? What changed?

If not, the locals may not want to give it up - crossing state lines in the commission of a kidnapping probably transfers the case automatically ... Maybe that's why they don't want anyone to get "kidnapping" in the brain, out the mouth, or through the fingers.

The FBI has said so far that they are "assisting" because they were called in by local LE. That's technically what they do...they assist with information gathering, equipment, resources etc.
