Poor Kara. That's going to be a hard one to solve.
When I hear about the killing and dumping of a prostitute, my mind goes straight to serial killer. Someone preying on those they feel will not be immediately missed when the opportunity strikes. Then again, one of those gangbangers could've made good on their threats. What a shame.
It could also be that these bodies are naturally floating towards the dam. I've been poking around to see if this is a common occurrence, but haven't really found anything.
we have four local cases where the homicide either occured near a body of water, or the victim was dumped.two of the cases have been solved.
I don't have any information on what method was used in the fuller homicide. I have also attached a pdf file regarding how a body reacts to water.

sinking, putrefaction and refloating
a body in water will usually sink but because the specific gravity of a body is
very close to that of water then small variations e.g. Air trapped in clothing have a
considerable effect on buoyancy. Having sunk to the bottom the body will remain
there until putrefactive gas formation decreases the specific gravity of the body
and creates sufficient buoyancy to allow it to rise to the surface and float. Heavy
clothing and weights attached to the body may delay but will not usually prevent
the body rising. Putrefaction proceeds at a slower rate in water than in air, in sea
water than in fresh water and in running water than in stagnant water. The
principal determinant is the temperature of the water so that in deep very cold
water e.g. The north american great lakes or the ocean the body may never
resurface.

while sleuthing on this case, i googled the pig out palace. Google images comes up with a pic of the bar with an older, bright red pick-up parked out front. Dunno how many peeps in ok drive trucks that look like this, but given le is looking for one in joe neff's case, maybe they could check this out:

truck could just belong to a one-time customer, or maybe a "regular" there. Have also posted this link over in the thread for joe neff, posts #406 to #408 at:
joe neff (my dad) unsolved murder 14 may 2009 -no leads - page 17 - websleuths crime sleuthing community
ps: I'm not in ok, so if someone feels this significant to pass along to le, please do so. I assume they read here, but just in case. Prolly nothing, but we never know until we know.
thank you for this information. My dad was joe neff, murdered may 14, 2009. He was shot and dumped in a strip pit. He was discovered 3 days later. His killer has never been identified. Thats why i came here. I have wondered often about the days he was in the water. Not that i want to dwell there, i cant help but think of it sometimes. It makes me sad, he was my hero. Thank you again. If you get an opportunity, look at my dads thread. Maybe you could offer some insight as well. Thanks
Joe was dating a younger woman, 45 years of age. Here are my small thoughts on this case....
According to a recently posted forum message, Jodys Facebook account on May 5 (the day her husband left for New Mexico) displayed a note saying that she lost her cellphone and that anyone "really" needed to reach her, to call her husband. Donald "Bo" Wilson returned on Saturday to find his wife and her truck missing. (http://crimeshadowsnews.com/main/2009/06/what-happened-to-jody-rilee-wilson/)
and from jody rilee wilson post #66..."Investigators are hopeful they will be able to check surveillance video to see who might have left the SUV behind."http://www.4029tv.com/news/19728819/detail.html
why have the footage not been checked and, if not found to be useful, cleared?
I couldnt agree more with the posters who ask why Jodys husband went with the baby and she stayed behind?
It doesn't look like they could spare 35 bucks for a weed whacker. Those links re the surveillance equipment are old articles from last May and June. Surely LE has been able to review them by now.
The one link to the article about Jody's SUV

has a picture of their residence. Not being snobby here ... just an observation .. they sure weren't living in the lap of luxury, and the place looks blank and exudes zero warmth.
... why not release information on it, or ever dropping his gfs name? Everyone is fair game, especially the first person at the crime scene, JMO.
I was just stating the fact their ages are closer than most would assume (Joe was in his early 60's i think) and she is only 7 years older than Missingmydad...
I understand the cameras should have been looked at long ago, why not release information on it, or ever dropping his gfs name? Everyone is fair game, especially the first person at the crime scene, JMO.
Someone posted this on Topix - haven't read all of it yet.
