The one thing that sticks out to me as I look at the pictures of the kids being reunited with their families is how different all the families look. Some with tattoos, dressed more alternatively, some in tshirts, some in military attire, some dressed for office work, and they are all just praying and thankful that their child was not injured, they all are clutching their children, and it just reminds me no matter how different our lives are we all want the same thing for our children, we all love them dearly. I feel so horrible for the family of the victim, and for the shooter, those parents were probably waiting, hoping to see their child's face as they came off a bus and suddenly they realized that their baby would not be coming home that night. How awful for your child to be the victim, and how truly awful for your child to become a murderer and take their own life.
And while I feel for the shooters family, I am so sick of these shooters. I just don't understand what is wrong with kids who see this as an option. I have ideas as to what can play roles in it, but, plenty of kids grow up in dysfunctional families, exposed to real life and fictional violence and never take a gun to school and shoot up the place, so at the end of the day I still cannot see what makes them make this leap to murderer. But enough is enough. The pictures I mentioned above should be enough to convince anyone we are all the same, we all love, we all care, no matter how different we may seem.
