The Dollar General that Kelley walked to is on Renovo Rd. which appears to be a main road. It also backs a railroad and The Susqeuhanna River. It is approx. a 3 mile walk from Kelley's home to the DG.

A 3 mile walk from her home to the store? That's not really close in my opinion to walk it. It said dinner was ready and they realized they had forgotten sweet potatoes so she quickly ran out. That makes it seem like she would be in a hurry. I read somewhere that the store was only a block away from her home. Does anyone know exactly how far her home actually is from the store? How many homes or businesses are in between the two?

I'm pretty sure Google Maps has the location wrong. If you use streetview, there is a dollar general store very close to her house - a few blocks away. I found it on their Dollar General Website - and it's listed as 13635 Renovo Road - and Google puts it miles west of where it actually is. I don't know how to post a map with a pin in it, but the actual store is located approximately half way between her house on 4th St. to the intersection of Renovo and Stouts Hill Road. A very easy and pleasant walk. Looking on Dollar General store websites, I found the statement "most Dollar General stores are open on Easter Sunday".

That makes ALOT more sense than "running out quickly" on foot to a store that's THREE MILES away. I read on FB, that it's not really that unusual that she would have left her cell phone at home as there is no cell service in the town.

I was reading about this case on our local news FB page last night. According to the comments of her friends, the Dollar General was a stones throw from her house and Renovo is a very small town where people have no reservations about walking around at any time of day or night.

With it being such a tiny, close community, it seems like had there ben any kind of loud altercation or struggle it would have drawn someone's attention or no? Do you know if it's a STRAIGHT SHOT, from her house to the store?

Hey MoM OT for a moment did u see where there is some new info on Eric Franks.
I have been following that case for a long time now and im glad something finally came out!

Her friend was there until 5:10p? So did she stay at the house while Kelley went to the store if she left at 3pm? The kids are definitely old enough to know and be able to say whether their mom actually left the house or not. Have they been asked?

Sorry O/T....but I've been following Eric Franks case for years! I hadn't heard that and am headed to check it out even though I told myself I was going to go to bed as soon as I read the couple pages here about Kelley! Thanks for the heads up!

I wonder why people are saying she left at 3, if her friend saw her at 5:30?!? News reports say she left at 6. So,some isn't being truthful.

Also according to the article she is married and has children, I wonder where they were when she went missing.

I wondered the same thing. From looking at her FB, it definitely appears that they are old enough to be able to give information. It was reported that they were home and had all dyed Easter eggs together just before she discovered that she had forgotten sweet potatoes.

I followed a lot of missing person cases and this one seems have so little details being shared. It seems she has a lot of friends out looking for her and so many of them talking about how her life revolved around her children, but very little information on her husband. This all just seems so very bizarre. I really hope there is a good outcome to this. Also wondering if they have searched HER home. The article talks about searching vacant houses. There was also talk about cameras nearby.

Also people have been mentioning that the police should check her father's house which is now empty as well as comments on her fb recently about not letting someone get to her or bring her down and that karma will take care of them. I hope the police as I assume they have, looked I to her fb!

Sorry for so many posts from me tonight. This case just strikes me as something really being off! I just read that it's been reported that it was actually her SISTER who found her wallet. Poor kids! I'm feeling like this won't be a happy outcome and it wasn't at the hands of a stranger!

Does a Dollar Store have sweet potatoes?

Where on her FB are you reading the karma comments? I can't seem to find them. Can you narrow it down for me--the date, please. TIA

You know I thought it was a longer walk than what they were saying bc from my memory the store is located as you are entering the town (at least it is for me bc we enter from the west when we come and leave the town to go home the exact direction she walked to the store) so I thought it was before U actually enter the town.

I have read a few comments regarding the Dollar General. One said "down the block" from her home. Another said "a block away". A third said "a few blocks away" and the last "two to three blocks away".

Her friends were discussing the "karma" comments in the Renovo FB group. She may have deleted them off her own FB. IMO

Based on where the wallet was found, I think the map posted earlier probably indicates the Dollar Store. The small building with the red cars in the lot?

I haven't read this. will you post a link to this information?

what kind of place is this Yesterday's Hotel and Restaurant? Could a transient have seen her with malicious intent? What are her friends saying about her marriage? Also, I see she has recently booked a family vacation to Disney....I can't help but wonder how that was paid for? Disney is very expensive and this town doesn't seem to me to be the most affluent (I grew up in a similar small NEPA town and we certainly never went to Disney).

Regarding bloodhounds:

Also on Thursday, two bloodhounds from Heaven Scent Search and Rescue, Tyrone, were put into action. After the dogs were given scents from Kelley Jo's clothing, they began working.

"When he puts that harness on, he knows he's got a job to do ... he's not just a dog anymore," said Dianne Thees of Heaven Scent.

Handler Mike Thees worked Luke, who led his trainer down the streets where Kelley Jo could have walked to the store. Along the way, Luke stopped several times as he made his way past Yesterday's Restaurant and the Western Clinton County Recreation and Fitness Center, and then onto Huron Avenue.

Suddenly, Luke stopped ... right in the middle of the road. He circled around in the road and at one point walked to the guiderail on the river-side of the road before returning to the center of the street.
