Hi all~ I'm a local but do not know Kortne or her family. I live a few blocks away. Been trying to keep up and follow along but the whole thing is fishy.

More clarification to the police timeline on that 2nd call. it appears it took them almost 20 minutes from the 911 call @4:12 to get there. I was assuming (I know, I know) that they got there at 4:12.


4:12 a.m. July 29: second 911 call to apartment

4:31 a.m. July 29: police arrive on scene but get no answer at Stouffer's door

4:36 a.m. July 29: police leave scene for second time

So many unknowns.

I for one would like to know the presentation of both K and her visitor upon officer's first arrival (visibly wasted and agitated or coherent and calm?)

We need to pin down if both calls were from the same neighbor. If second call was from a different neighbor, maybe that's why neighbor #1 didn't open door when LE may or may not have knocked on their door the second time (there is still some confusion as to who's doors other than K's did officer knock on, if any)

And lastly, FWIW I was at one time a frustrated 1st story tenant who on occasion called police with complaints against loud upstairs neighbors (especially in the wee hours in the morning) so it doesn't strike me as odd that they were called once or even twice even if it was over a dog/noise complaint initially.

"In a very strange twist, police were called to her duplex not once but twice right around the time she disappeared. The first call from a neighbor complaining about Kortne somehow arguing or talking with a neighbor loudly.

The district attorney says the second 911 call was from the person living below Kortne who heard stomping and banging coming from her apartment. Now, we asked police if the responding officer saw anything suspicious, and police told us no. How is that possible?"

From the transcript, it sounds like a different neighbor made the first call complaining of an argument between Kortne and presumably the downstairs neighbor. From the transcript, the DA said the downstairs neighbor made the second call after hearing stomping/banging, which is why I find it strange they didn't answer their door when LE arrived the second time. Things just don't add up.

Nothing clever- since you are so close by, I hate to ask , but you might know- DO you know who deals with dumpsters in the town and when they are emptied? The schedule?Do they pick up soon after a weekend?

2:00 a.m. - bar closes

3:00 - 3:20 a.m. - Kortne and guestS arrive home. (There was an argument between my daughter and the neighbors when they came home that morning, approximately 3 -- it was about 3:20 a.m. when they got home. 3:12 a.m. - Neighbor calls 911 reportedly about the dog - noise disturbance/argument

3:15 a.m. - Patrolman Timothy Lengle arrived

3:49 a.m. - Patrolman Timothy Lengle leaves

3:45 a.m. (According to the borough police report which lists Lt. James Hunt as the investigating officer, Stouffer, a part-time hair dresser, has not been seen since about 3:45 a.m. --- see link below)

4:12 a.m: Second 911 call to apartment

4:15 - 4:20 a.m. - they go to bed. (Somewhere around 4:15, 4:20 they went to bed. And then he woke up about 7:30 and left, and my daughter wasn`t there.)

4:31 a.m: Police arrive on scene but get no answer at Stouffer's door

7:30 a.m. - Guest leaves and does not see Kortne (He claims that she wasn`t there when he woke up that morning? W. STOUFFER: Correct. )

? time - Guest texts Kortne.

2:25 p.m. July 31: Palmyra police department issues missing person release

There are several business around her apartment which have dumpsters. The largest garbage companies off the top of my head are Waste Management and Lebanon Farms Disposal. I can drive by after work to see how many are around her apartment and what company they belong to. I'm not sure when they would be serviced but I have a dumpster near me that is emptied at 3 or 4 AM on Thursday mornings. I know this because when my windows are open it always wakes me up because it's so dang noisy!

The closest landfill is somewhere near Long Lane outside of Lebanon. It's out in the country so I'm not sure what city/town it is considered. But it's a short drive...probably 15-20 minutes. I'll get more info for you tonight.

Thanks N.C. I have a fear of dumpsters and how they can be utilized May not be the case here, but it looks like a lot of alleys there, makes me wonder. Hopefully LE alerted landfills to mark/separate loads...

There is a Weidle Sanitation dumpster behind the NAPA store. That is the only dumpster I saw in that section of the alley.

Plus, while I was driving by I noticed that her stairs come down from the house towards the alley, then a landing in which they then go down the rest of the way back towards the house (|_| ~like that). So if someone carried her out of her apartment they would have had to go back towards the 1st floor and then walk past the first floor windows. But the stairs are far enough away from the house that the noise of someone going up and down should be minimal to those on the first floor...if there would be any noise at all from them.

Is the "friend" a criminal? Does the neighbor have any other dealings with the cops? Is this the first time cops have been called for the noise?
I like the stepping out smoking cig, maybe the "friend" passed out (out til 2:00 am your pretty much drunk-) IMO. The creepy thing to me is the neighbor didn't answer the 2nd time-I don't know about others, but if I am mad enough to call the cops I won't be sleeping within 30 mins of them leaving.

Thank you N.C....goodto know- couldn't get mr google on the map to walk back there to tell the lay out. So there would have been a dumptster practically in the back yard near the parking. Why do I not like that.
Weidle, they don't have the routes posted. Would you know for that place N.C.? any other locals know pick up for that area?

What about security cameras at those businesses? Can you also check to see if any have cameras which view the street and p lots?

What is the business directly across the street? On Google map it looks like a furniture store?

Thanks for this!! This is "better" news than what we've had or thought the last couple days. Seems there's new hope that she is in fact still alive. I hope these leads are good. This could be an eventuful evening/weekend. Let's hope for the best...

Kortne's father says his family's appearance on CNN last night really helped. People have been coming to the family Friday with new leads, some he can't really share with us because he's worried it'll hurt the investigation.

Saturday, the family plans on spending the day passing out fliers again because some of them have been torn down by someone. With help from local police, they're looking into that as well.

Kortne's mother Wendy Stouffer wondered whether the second call could have been her daughter calling for help. Wendy and her husband Scott Stouffer said that aside from police and her neighbor, a third person may have been among the last to see Kortne.
