Identified! PA - White Haven, 'Beth Doe' & Unborn Baby 169UFPA, 16-22, Dec'76 - #2 - Evelyn Colon

I watched 48 hours last week, the topic was about Charles Brandt, who at the age of 13 killed his pregnant mother and also tried to kill his father and sister. He was put away for a short time then the father relocated to Florida. I found some things about his case interesting. They believe he may have been a serial killer he traveled extensively in the United States. He made his living being a Radar Tech. I wonder how long he was interested in this kind of thing, had me thinking about (wsr). Also the paragraph below, using the wording skill of a surgeon caught my eye. This man was fascinated with anatomy. So if he murdered his mother in 1970, he would have been 19 in 1976, I wonder where he was at this time of his life. There is a thread on WS for him that I didn't see until today.
"He didn't just murder Michelle Jones, who had opened her south Seminole County home to her aunt and uncle. He systematically dismembered Jones' body, even removing her head and then using kitchen knives to cut on her body with the skill of a surgeon."

This has to be the most heinous murder I've heard about involving a Jane Doe. I really hope they find her identity and catch her killer. Since they believe she's from Europe, has her story and facial reconstructions been shared over there?

Thanks. I sent it in. There are some people from that orphanage that talk about her case, but, I couldn't find if they are related or just schoolmates. I'm not fluent in German and the page translator doesn't seem to be either.

I might have info for who Beth doe actually is "Elizabeth Porta"- missing fugitive since 1976 - who ever called her Beth got the name right. if you google her you'll find case notes for what happened a week prior to Beth being found...
in 1976 she would have never been reported missing- just wanted.

13dec1976 (monday) plane carrying 15-20mil in pot gets busted in Mt. Pocono air port- DC6 11 people were caught around 3am after the plane landed in a snow storm.
3 people that were on that flight where never arrested. (not going to speculate)
I would presume she got away, or was let off the hook- got a call to meet up.. (clue WSR75)...

WSR57- Woodloch Ski Resort exit5 (old exit Hamlin) exit 7 (Tafton) off of interstate 84 / both ways to get to 590- Woodloch pines resort -business in operation since 1958. I84/380 and 80 are all close to Mt Pocono. If the 5 and 7 were on the same line, I'd think it was a time to meet up- but since it was 5 above and 7 down and to the left of it- it's more likely meeting info. ...just my way of thinking about it.
I think she might have got away from the cops, but she didn't get away from the people who lost 15-20mil. Michael Nelson bragged that he had made 26 flights in and never needed a deposit on renting a plane until that flight. 6 tons every flight- that's a lot of drug money.
if you google united states vs Michael Nelson the case notes are online some what - in 1978 Porta was still a wanted fugitive.
Nils Nelson is from down near Philly (found in internet searches)-

It seems to me someone was really angry over losing that shipment.
I think that from reading notes about case - she was White, Colombian/American- I saw little info in the case notes, no description info. I only think that it's not a coincidence that after she goes on the run, in less then a week a body turns up unidentified.
(some of the this info matches up like Mediterranean- nothing in the trial notes says anything about her bring pregnant at all.)

call a number and go someplace to meet up and regroup? who else didn't get picked up by cops? first reports said 8 people caught, then 11- somehow magically 3 people got let go. that doesn't make much sense- first reports say no one was armed -then 2 people in the group auto pistols in later reports..

woodloch resort is about an hour drive north on 611 from Mt. Pocono- and yes she would have to take I80 either exit 5 (hamlin)or exit 7 at Promised land state park- to get on 590 where the resort is -

I was thinking more of a what if the drop was a success -would they have gone to woodloch resort to celebrate and have a party? (I'm not saying a pregnant girl was going there to ski). it would have been 15-20million bucks worth of drugs in 1976 money! ...would be logical if they blamed her, because she wasn't caught up by the police when others were... I have no idea if anything I'm saying is right- but it all fits pretty well-

Pocono County Place opened in 1975- (it's as big as Scranton now) it's not far from the air port, and an hour north would be woodloch ski resort-
it might be that someone just moved in, and traveled up there for a weekend get away...new neighbors wouldn't know anyone really ...

if this woman managed to meet someone at woodloch she would have had to abandon her car there...or the killers car. if she drove there, someone either drove her body away, but no one would have been able to drive two cars away...and businesses don't usually leave abandoned cars on there parking forever...
the next question is in Jan of 1977 who was called to remove a car, who was the car registered to? ... chain of events. if I was a cop I'd be searching though reports every car abandoned/found in a 5 mile radius of Woodloch. I think the answer is there.
The only way this wouldn't trace back to her is if she followed the person who killed her back to his location/home and he disposed of her and the car at the same time...
