Nora, maybe I'm looking at that wrong but to me in pic # 15 to the far left of the picture it looks like wood. Then directly in front of the carpet where it looks like tile, I'm seeing it as the tile on the wall. Because in picture 16 I do not see anything that is close enough to be the wood we see in picture #15.

You can also see carpet meeting tile on the walls in pic #1 and pic #7. In pic #8 we see her legs laying over carpet up against a tile wall.

Just trying to figure it out.

Kat, I'm thinking pic 15 was taken after Stephany was moved and this is where she was laying. The wood looks like the nightstand behind her in pic 20.

Did L. Glass actually write this? I don't blame AVDS. Enabling is not good, but I bet he ruled the roost in that home.

Agree....she doesn't take into account that Anita has been grieving herself over the last few months. Although she did raise some good points about the gambling.

Lets face it, Joran would have put his family through all kinds of hell for most of his life, and she had him in therapy, but there's no way therapy would have actually helped him. We can't really treat people like Joran.

Personally I believe as a society we need to find a better way to handle psychopaths, waiting until they commit some horrible crime we can actually convict them of, then throwing them in jail just seems so BACKWARD!

Yes, even the judge that charged Joran said he acted with “ferocity and great cruelty.”

I am interested to know how blood gets into the hallway and I am assuming they mean the inner hallway entry area inside the room ...
I assume no blood outside the room in the outer hallway?

If there was blood in th inner hallway-entry area how did it get there?
Joran or Stephanie? Was she able and tried to escape? (Joran's statement
says it all occurred on the bed and to the side of the bed) ?

I think his rage & control issues may have started after Melody and he broke up. She said he was cheating and lying to her.....he said Relationships are based on trust.....this is really something coming from a liar.

I consider Melody one of Joran's LUCKY ONES who got away from his anger and controlling.......which actually hadn't surfaced then but was forming.

Poor Stephany saw that Rage & Anger first hand. It was probably the last thing she saw as she died in room 309

and Natalie too.

On In Sessions this morning, Jean C said that there was blood in the hallway, so your theory may be correct, JWarner.

ETA. She didn't specify, but I do believe she was referring to the little entryway into the room, rather than the actual common hallway outside the room door.

agree - inner hallway entry area. Who put it there and how (and when)?

Where is any blood from Joran in this total scene?

Thank you 4Kat and ziggy too! I am in agreement. :)

It really is appalling when we look at these cases first hand, the countless missing and murdered victims. Are these making of psychopaths in society? Do they just snap overnight? I think it starts much younger. Teachers, neighbors, therapists, psychiatrists, and parents need to get involved. Maybe medication can help with the anger issues. IDK

This is one of them. I don't know if there are others.

Interesting that he highlights his 'Sawadee Cup Models' in the four minute video of his coffee shop. It causes me to wonder if the coffe shop wasn't just a front for some other kind of business he was trying to build.

I wonder why he left Thailand for good. I know his father died but why didn't he return to his shop? Was he already in trouble there? How did he manage to sell the place so quickly? Interesting.

Wasn't there reported blood on JVDS shoes?

Another question: if this had happened in the U.S. would they release the crime scene photos? Trying to remember if I have ever seen this before.tia[/quote]

I seriously doubt it. (People can get sued over this kind of thing in the USA).

BTW: the President of Peru says just hours ago under no circumstances
will he sign an extradition for Joran out of Peru 'until the trial is over' -

Does this allow for an option after the trial?

Florida has the Sunshine Law under which a lot of evidence comes to light, however crime scene photos usually are reserved for trial so as not to taint the potential jury pool. MOO

Go back to the OJ trial - how was it handled there in that hi profile case?

I think we can tell from the state of that room that he wasn't getting daily housekeeping services which explains why no one went into the room for three days after the murder. All those clothes on the floor and casino tickets/garbage piled up on the tables weren't just from one day.

Those pictures are horribly riveting. And I hope they do exactly what they are probably intended to do. To show everyone who is having an inkling of sympathy for JVS just what this guy is all about.

I like the way Peru operates. Every time JVS starts to spin his stories and get people to question whether he's getting a fair deal, they release more video or picture information to put it in perspective.

Many of us tell the housekeeping staff at hotels not to clean our room every day. While that's a very common practice, it is certainly not routine for hotels to leave a room unchecked for three days after the person renting it has left. Whether Joran officially checked out of the hotel or not, he left without paying in advance. What hotel would reserve a room for someone who hasn't paid for it?

Did you happen to sit on the O.J. Simpson jury? :praying:

Again, the question regarding this retraction of Joran's "confession" is- what if the Peruvian authorities did type up a "confession" that Joran didn't understand at all, and signed because they lied about what it said? Do all of you really support any country permitting something like that?

I understand that most of you think this is just another of Joran's lies. Fine. My hypothethical question was if you'd think it was wrong if the authorities did trick him into signing a "confession."

No person interested in justice should support that, imho.

No, the average Peruvian man is short (like 5'4 - 5'5).

Yes, I read that she practiced Soccer and played for her University. I don't know how often she practiced or how serious she was about it, but I think it's a possibility.

I noticed in the pictures that the coffee cups were from Hollys Coffee... it's a Starbucks-like coffee shop (it's a Korean franchise) and the shop is 2 blocks away from the hotel (map here)... I passed by Holly's this afternoon.
I had guessed that VDS didn't go to Wong because Wong opens at 9am, but thought that maybe he got the coffee from the gas station store.

When Joran first confessed I think we read that confessing would lower the maximum sentence? If the confession is thrown away and he's found guilty anyway, would he ge eligible for a higher maximum sentence?

I don't recall the cups in the videos having any emblems or printing on them...they looked like plain white cups. ????

IMO Joran can change his confession as many times that his twisted brain can handle.
It won't do squat for him....not talking to the Judge has put him in bad stead with the Judge also. He's banking on his lawyer to lead him on the right track or path to him walking out Castro Castro and back into the mild climate of Aruba. But that will not happen at all. What ever happens now when the Judge rules on the legality of his confessions, is the final curtain for this psycho. The evidence is overwhelmingly against him and he knows it too.
He even has the President of Peru making statements about him.
I'm not sure but Mr. Flores has very BIG friends in very HIGH PLACES.

Now I'm not stating that Mr. Flores will cause bodily harm to come to Joran in any way shape or form......but.......if Joran thinks he was followed and watched before.....he better grow eyes in the back of his head once he is tried and convicted and sent to a prison not as 'elegant' as one of the inmated referred CC as being.

AIMO

This still remains a mystery, and I think we should state concrete questions:

-why didn't the housekeeper check the room for 2-3 days?
-why didn't the desk clerk ask for money for the 2-3 unpaid days?
-why didn't anyone hear anything?
-why didn't anyone notice the TV blaring for 2-3 days?
-why wouldn't anyone question "the girl" not leaving the hotel room for 2-3 days?
- why didn't E. Garcia go over to the hotel and check for his friend JVDS if he hadn't seen him in 2-3 days?
-why haven't they shown or stated publicly what the survelliance tapes shows for those 2-3 days?

If anything, the decomposition wouldn't have been as bad, and SF would have been found sooner.

She must have tried to escape...got as far as the hallway, and got dragged back in.

Thanks for the info re "Hollys Coffee". Is it possible that "Hollys Coffee" could be sold through other outlets? Like some grocery stores that have Starbucks booths inside them like here in the US?

Keep in mind, Peru has no Jury Pool....only the 1st Judge doing the investigation and then next comes the 3 Judge Panel.....that's it.

I don't think anyone is surprised he now apparently denies he had confessed.
It appears to be his MO-tell a story and then claim the story was false.
Frankly because they got a video showing him and the girl go into his room but the girl never coming out alive, I don't think his confession is needed at all.
And since he is going to be judged by a three judge panel and not a jury, there is also no chance some love sick groupie would get on a jury. So I don't think Joran is going to like his future.
