On the video, I would like to get a better shot of what type of keys he has in his left slinging around. Looks to be more than one key. When he gets to the room, he opens the door with his right hand.

Why did he have to leave a key at the front desk? And does anyone know Spanish well? In the video you can hear people talking and a female mentions chica 2 x.

Many hotels in foreign countries make you leave your key at the front desk.

The way he acted going into the hotel is so familiar, but i can't place where I saw someone act like that before they killed someone.

I just saw the video and I was thinking the same thing!

It felt so oddly and scarily familiar to me ... but I don't know why!

I've stayed in some lower end places in Europe. You give them a passport, they check the name, take your passport and give you the key. When you leave you give them the key back and they give you your passport back. I didn't liek that policy but many places work that way so they don't get stiffed.

Don't know if the fight with dad is true or a rumor but how horrible he (Dad) must feel to know that the last time he saw his daughter alive was not in the best of situations. It was probably the last time he saw her ever as the police did not even let him see her body. That will haunt him forever. So sorry for this girl's suffering at the hands of this angry, woman hater.

We discussed the argument the first day she was found.
Her dad said, she came home and wanted to go back out he told her to stay home and she left anyway. I don't have the link, just going from memory. I don't think her dad feels responible for what happened.
IMO

This is the first time I have heard this!

When investigators questioned the workers, he told them that van der Sloot told him "don't bother my girl." Van der Sloot indicated that he would be returning to the room, according to the worker. The hotel workers became suspicious after no one else left the room, and eventually a foul smell came from it, Gonzalo said. It wasn't immediately clear how much time lapsed between the conversation on video and workers noticing the smell.

With the videos I'm sure that are involved in this case, I'm sure Joran is toast at this point. He will also have due process Peruvian style. I'm okay with that. Live and let live. Karma, Golden Rule and all that Jazz.

Then why pay up for 14 days??

I think he was after money, especially now that we know he has been trying to get money from the Holloway's and that his mother has not been in contact with him.

There is nothing, absolutely nothing, that looks like he is flirting or sexual with her in the video (or in the witness statements).

He could be walking to the room with a guy friend. Just does not look like an early morning casino hookup walk to the room to me.

MOO

Maybe not a hook up for her but for him yes. He's acting all goofy and stupid in getting the key.

Ok...now it does look like a top over pants when they enter...can't see when they go into the room.

Yes, she is a young adult. Lima, casino - wealthy area. Dressed like so many young females her age. Pants are form fitting, as is shirt - she is very fit! That is why many think it is a dress. Clutch, not a medium size purse. Fits car keys, small wallet (maybe puts her money, credit cards directly in it - not much else. That's the point if you don't like to carry handbags. She is aware of it, and possibly adjusts something in it - where some think she is putting her hand in her pocket.

Maybe to ensure he would have a room for 14 days. It doesn't matter if you pay up front or not--you have to leave them the key. And not just in low end places--I've stayed in very expensive hotels in England where the room key was absurdly huge and you had to leave it.

Take a look at when she enters his room - it looks like she has a skirt on. Also, in the lobby - looks like a skirt over pants. In the stills someone linked she definitely is wearing a shirt - you can see the line of the shirt bottom. Do you see it?

Sure did. But wait.....that's not all!

Seems he blamed one of his playmates. But after the playmates mom talked to him, Joran finally admitted he'd killed his dog himself. :(

The guy has needed help for a loooonnnnngggg time!

JMHO
fran

:( Ugh. Depraved heart. I agree with Jug: hook JVS up to the jumper cables.

Thanks, fran.

I've watched the video a few times and there is something about her demeanor that doesn't sit right with me. I'm not sure that she's staggering or dragging her feet but it's almost as if she isn't there volunarily. She clearly wasn't being physically forced but it doesn't seem like she wants to be there. I just can't quite put my finger on it.

I agree that she seems rather odd walking behind him with her head down. Definitely not of a romantic nature to me. But for whatever reason she was going to his room it could be that she was embarrassed and a little reluctant to be going into that cheap hostel. She might have thought he had a room in a nice hotel only to find out what type place it was once they got there.

But also that video seems to be in slow motion, so everyone's movements look a little odd to me. Do we have anyone here that knows how to download that video, speed it up some then re-post it?
