My sister in law was visiting from Virginia this weekend. I was reading an article with his picture and she walked by my computer. She asked me "who is that?"..she had no clue who he was. Up until then I thought everyone knew who he is, she proved me dead wrong.

Yeah, people "like us" that frequent message boards and internet news live in a bubble. I am amazed how the rest of the world can function not knowing whats going on (LOL).

GR talking to the entertainer (Blades) that recognized him at the casino and went and told the manager of the casino who he was.

JVDS was with another guy and they were making lude comments about "finding women".

Blades never saw Stephany with JVDS.

Night he was with Blades he "lost" about $300. and wasn't happy about it.

The manager came back to Blades the next day and told him he (JVDS) was a murderer - and Blades said "yea I told you that" and the guy said "no - he killed a girl here last night.

I brought up the whole JVDS topic at work the other day when the news hit about Stephany's murder and all I got were blank stares from my coworkers. No one knew who I was talking about, though some did vaguely recall that an American teenager had disappeared in Aruba a few years ago.

I have no trouble believing many people have no idea who JVDS is.

MarkF: when VDS doesnt speak>no overt act connected to homicide when u look at t video; DNA, saliva, etc. - it's explained away by defense attorney - it is his room. His experience w/Aruba>don't talk>don't get charged.

I apologize if this is off topic, but I couldn't find where else to put it.

Years back, there was a website about finding Natalee Holloway. I can't find it anywhere! The URL was short and had the word "Aruba" in it. The homepage showed a boat, sand, a contact number, etc. It had links and/or more pages about some eerie things in Aruba that could have been related to Natalee Holloway. If anyone knows where the website is would you please post it or PM me?

Wonder how the rest of Aruba is taking this news? Wish someone would put a reporter on the street there and see what public opinion is.

I've been checking out reader comments from the online news articles from there. It seems most posters are glad he's off the street. Predictably, there are a handful who are already saying he's being framed by the U.S.
