Depends on who George was talking to. To the FBI, he got close enough to see inside the trunk, and to OCSO, he never got close.

See .... it's stuff like this that makes me wonder about GA. I feel badly for him one day, then I find out things like this. Kind of makes me think that by the time he was interviewed by the FBI, he knew exactly what was up and had decided to protect Casey.

Or... had convinced himself that he *did* see in the trunk. Probably with some help from CA. But I myself have started to second guess my recollections on things in the past when my memory of something that at the time was insignificant became critical. At the time, he had no reason to look towards the trunk - he had what he thought was in there back in his hands, so I think he would have been looking at KC. No reason to look - or not look. After five weeks, how could he remember whether he looked or not, and if he did, what he saw? I think he has been going over and over that moment and decided he did see *something* - he said clothes and stuff. That's safe for him - there were "clothes and stuff" in the trunk when it was found, and in his mind he needs to believe that Caylee was not right there in front of him and he didn't notice. I believe she was, but there was no leak in the bag at that time and so no smell in the three seconds the trunk was opened.

I'm staying with June 23 for now for the reasons I posted earlier.

I'm sticking with 24th. But have said before that I can live with earlier dates. I really think 18th is too early. 19th or 20th better.

Well, if you take a gander at the What happened to Caylee thread, we have been agonising over how, when where she died. At the least I think the body was "ready" to dump by the 20th, so why not simply do it while she was driving less than a minute away?
When I first heard of the gas can incident I thought she was trying to keep GA from the trunk coz she had a body in there, but it could have been just keep him away from smell and stain.
If she had a body in the car all ready to dump it is hard to imagine doing nothing about it Sat, Su, and Mon?

I think that the body was dumped on the 24th after the gas can incident. I think that the body was packaged on the 18th after she borrowed the shovel, but saw that it was too difficult to dig a grave. She then got the laundry bag and the garbage bag, Caylee being wrapped in the Winnie the Po blanket already (I think it was kept in the car). Since the body leakage was contained by the double bagging she didn't feel compelled to dump it until she got scared by GA. I would still like to know where she parked the stinking car all of this time.

I don't think the smell was "that bad" from the outside. Probably diabolical when you opened th truck or even the car doors. It no doubt was a lot worse by the time GA picked the car up more than 3 weeks later. Even so the police reports of recieving the car in the forensics garage don't comment on smell when outside inspected, but note the smell when doors and trunk opened.

But I think she was probably tired, what with all the shovel borrowing, pretend digging, and lugging the body to the backyard and back. Once it was back in the trunk and reasonably less smelly due to a new garbage bag on the outside, she could forget it. I truly think she forgot all about it from the 16th until there was an odor. Easy enough to forget about it again until her dad almost sees, and tells her has to get something ELSE out of her trunk before the weekend.

I'll go check out that thread though, maybe I will be swayed.

I don't believe that she ran out of gas on the 20th. I'm convinced that it was the 23rd that TL helped her by loaning his tire tool. At least this is TL's statement to LE.

I can go along with that. I can remember trying to sort that point out. I've lost it all again now. There were arguements for both dates I recall?
Do we know exactly where KC ran out of gas, more precisely than just near the A home?

TL found her walking on S Chickasaw. She could have been 2 blocks or 2 miles from the disposal site. Hopefully, we will learn more from TL in a future doc dump.
