Well over a dozen reporters and photographers were accompanying the searchers late Friday morning. The first search was taking place five miles west of Ely along Highway 50 in a gravel pit below Squaw Peak.

WVPD were unaware JP even rented the car until employees at the rental place notified them several days later. It was not tracked. No GPS. It had been completed cleaned by the rental company by the time WVPD decided to mosey over there. The only information they obtained was the total mileage driven.

Maybe LE doesn't think they will ever find Susan. This is an attempt to show everyone that they did try. Followed all leads....but, it's a cold case now.

I honestly don't think these reporters had a single clue that they would be traipsing around the mining fields and mountains. I think I would have called it a day already had I been wearing those shoes to scoot around up there.

I honestly don't think these reporters had a single clue that they would be traipsing around the mining fields and mountains. I think I would have called it a day already had I been wearing those shoes to scoot around up there.

I would hope that LE prepped them a little? Surely they would have mentioned the terrain was going to be rough and to wear the right footwear?

This whole thing going on today makes no sense to me...and I hate that her parents don't appear to know what is going on either, if that is true.

I have a feeling that the LE saying that he needed to change his clothes several time during the presser was some sort of red herring. Plus, he made a comment that he'd change his clothes but his face would not change. JMHO.
