Is there any way to curtail some of the game threads, or limit the number, or delete some? This morning, page one of my "New Posts" had 33 game threads. That was almost the entire page! Tucked in between were a few non-game threads, but even the active topics were pushed off the front page. That's a lot of game threads.

Would it be so bad to close a few?

Starting with post #910 may be of some help to you.

I may have missed this (probably) but is there no longer a way to omit certain forums ("That 'wfgodot is tha koolest' forum is driving me ka-ray-zeee!") we don't, um, want to see? I missed the re-make -- WS 2.0 (love it) or whatever, so maybe I'm just not seeing the option in my currently-a-bit-disabled state. ("Kansas.") Omitting what one chooses is a way of streamlining one's experience and making a good thing better.

Howdy. I'm a relatively new member. I don't have privileges to start a new thread.

I heard about this case in my area, and I don't see it covered here yet. How can I get the word out? Thanks.

CLARKSBURG, Md. (AP/WJLA) - Montgomery County police are searching for two young children after police say their mother refused to disclose their whereabouts to her husband. The mother's whereabouts are also unknown.
Police say the children's mother, 27-year-old Catherine Hoggle of Clarksburg, is diagnosed as having paranoid schizophrenia.

The missing children are 3-year-old Sarah Hoggle and 2-year-old Jacob Hoggle.

Catherine Hoggle's common-law husband, Troy Turner, contacted police on Monday night and reported that Hoggle had slipped away from him at a restaurant and walked to the Germantown Transit Center after she was not forthcoming about where the children were.

She had told Turner that she dropped them off at daycare. On Sunday, police say Hoggle had the children at her mother's house and said she had taken Jacob to a friend's house. Police say Jacob wasn't there and hasn't been seen since.

Hi RubyJuno! Welcome to Websleuths. Looks like a thread has been started on the children located in the missing forum here...

Thank you for letting us know about the case.

I should know this - I've worked it out before - but now can't remember how I did it. LOL...

How do you do a quick search through a thread to find your posts in it?
I remember clicking a button and finding I had (for example) 24 posts - and they could be listed in order of posting.

:tyou:

Hi Fig Tree,

on top white bar under the page numbers click 'Search thread'
then click the following:
Advanced search
Search type- posts
Type in user name
Check exact name
Show results as- posts
Search now

Ah! Thankyou Harmony2.
Cheers! :)

There are a few people I would like to add to the missing section of the forum. Who can do that for me or how can I get the right to do so? Thanks

Hi wxbqscotty!

If you want to pm the information to me I will be happy to get them added for you. I think you need a certain amount of posts before you can start a thread but it should take you long to get there! In the mean time I'm happy to help out with whomever you want a thread started.

Is there a way to stay logged in here?I will click on a link in a thread...go look at it..and then I am no longer logged in.Is there a setting I need to click on?Thank You!

Try checking the box next to Remember Me, located under your login info. That has always worked for me. HTH :)

Hi LunaticFringe!

Suthrnqt is correct about checking the box next to Remember Me, located under the login info. That should keep you signed in.

Thank you Suthrnqt!

I can't locate a button to start a new thread, so I'm assuming I haven't received that privilege yet. Is there some specific quota to reach?

Is it possible to attach pictures to a private message and if so how would that be done?
Thanks

Hi, I hope this is the appropriate place for this. I'm new here. I can't wait to look around and read the forums. There are a lot of cases I'm interested in reading about, but one in particular brought me here. The Joshua Phillips, Maddie Clifton case.
I've tried searching for it but I guess I don't have search privileges yet. Can somebody please tell me where I can find a forum for that case? That case and Scott Peterson are a couple of the forums I'd like to check out.

Also, when do search privileges start?

Thank you!

We don't seem to have a Joshua Phillips/Maddie Clifton thread -- though the case is mentioned here

http://www.websleuths.com/forums/sh...ilia&highlight=joshua+phillips+maddie+clifton

and here

http://www.websleuths.com/forums/sh...ged*&highlight=joshua+phillips+maddie+clifton .

The Stacy Peterson forum is here:

http://www.websleuths.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?133-Stacy-Peterson

As for search privileges, I have no idea.

When I go to a subscribed thread, I can click on a "first unread post" button which takes me to the place where I left off.

However, when I have more than one subscribed thread, I often only have time to look at one on that visit. When I come back later to read the second subscribed thread, the thread title no longer appears in bold (indicating there are unread posts), and there is no "first unread post" button. It's as if the forum assumes I've read everything on the previous visit.

Is there a fix for this?

Thank you so much for your help! I'm actually looking for a Scott Peterson forum. I don't know who Stacy Peterson is.
Thanks for directing me to a discussion of the Joshua Phillips case. That case has haunted me ever since I first read about it.
Thanks again.
