There is a big difference between colourful, street art-type graffiti meant to improve the scenery, and tagging, which is a gang activity to mark their territories.

Have we heard of any gang that MS identifies with?

What did he produce as say10 that he was advertising?

A gamer tag...?
Don't most actors/artists use a nickname or change their names? SnoopDog, Miley Cyrus, Elton John, Bruno Mars, Niki Minaj...
Does that make MS a gang member?
I guess if anyone sees DIR3N33D graffiti anywhere, must have been DM and he must have been a gangster too, he just didn't dress the part...at least of what we've seen.
Again he must have slipped through LE's fingers. MOO.

Mr. Smich in low-level crime, so-called horror art and rap music under the nickname “Say10” (a common play on “Satan”).

Sorry, I meant what did he himself have to make and advertise using his gang name? He didn't make that video, he just starred in it. I think that if he was spray painting advertisements for that video, he would have painted "ghostize" or whatever the name of the song or rapper was, not his own nickname.

Is there any link or indication that his nickname was a "gang" name? I haven't seen anything suggesting that. TIA

MARK SMICH, 25

The second murder suspect

Smich has had a checkered past with police.

A music video — now no longer online — shows Smich acting as a butcher, dismembering body parts. Neighbours describe him as friendly.

His father, Andrew, said he hasn't had recent contact with him. He lived with his mother in a quiet part of Oakville and was involved with the local indie rap scene. He used the name "Say10."

WARNING: 12 disgusting horrorcore rappers for your Halloween playlist

http://www.aux.tv/2013/10/12-disgusting-horrorcore-rappers-for-your-halloween-playlist/

Excellent list. I see the Three 6 Mafia that MWJ claims an association with there. No doubt horrorcore music was an inspiration to MS.

Whether horrorcore’s performed by slasher-obsessed rap vets or by violence-obsessed suburbanites, though, the genre’s bound by several things: An affinity for scary movies, excessive brutality, and NSFW violence, usually backed by horror movie samples.

sually, it’s either metalheads who got into rap or suburban kids living out their violent fantasies

Doubt MWJ has an "association" with the Three 6 Mafia other than being a fan but there have been several fans of these types of groups who have been involved in some type of criminal violence. I think the ICP draws/drew a lot of these "violent suburbanite" types.

MOO

MWJ claims the producer of his latest 14 tracks including Red Shoes is JG, who is a member of/producer with the Three 6 Mafia who lives in CA. Note the rest of the 6 live in the south and the most talented members of the Three 6 mafia have long since moved into hiphop and pop (See Katy Perry - Dark Horse features Juicy Jay of the 6 and E.T. with Kanye West was originally intended to be performed by them http://www.mtv.com/news/1661086/katy-perry-et-three-6-mafia/)

Well this crime went down in Hamilton and KW and that is all HA territory. You can see a fellow AW (formerly of SC) links all this territory...there were other biker gangs here but the HA swallowed them all up:

However I don't think any HA are linked to this crime...

Let's explore wether or not Say10 could be called his gang name.

It is not the name his mother gave him, so it is not his birth name.
He is not an author so it is not his nom de plume.
He is not a clown, so it is not his clown name.

It could be a nickname, although nicknames are usually something your friends call you, and if that were the case, I would have to wonder what kind of person he is that his friends would call him satan. I have a feeling that MS made this name up for himself, because of the spelling. If his friends were the ones who started calling him Say10, how did they pronounce it so that he knew it was meant to be spelled with numerals?

Who are the most prevalent creators of graffiti? There are commonly two groups, street artists like Banksy or gang members. How can we tell them apart? One group makes graffiti with the intention of making urban areas more interesting and beautiful, while the other group is only concerned with marking their territory. If I had to guess, I would say that MS's Say10 paint job wasn't about making the underpass a more beautiful space, it was about him tagging his gang name to mark his territory. All of this is my personal opinion only.

<rsbm>

But he is a performer and his performance name is Say-10

The graphical nature of his name underscores the fact that it is his performance name (remember when Prince turned his name into a symbol? or Kesha dropped her $? or know the A$AP mob? Many performers include graphic elements in their names.)

I doubt it is even a well .... nobody puts a well in front of a main door of a barn , the concrete structure is not a well casing , it is a concrete wall , probably for holding manure scraped from the barn in the old days

The guy with stuff in his hand is just junk from the barn , old rope etc. He would look at everything in the light and then toss it.

Furthermore , I think that whole exercise by TP was 30% search and 70% publicity to make it look like they were doing something important after years of doing nothing regarding LB.

They did not report finding anything related to LB at the farm , that does not mean it was not there , but if they had you would think they would have wanted the credit and some favorable publicity.

.

I remember a large board taken out of the barn, at the one end covered with a paper bag. I'm curious if this is a proof of anything.

The difference is that Prince and Kesha don't feel the need to spray paint their names on overpasses, I think. What performers do graffiti their performance name themselves randomly for publicity, I wonder?

To me the numerical element just underscores the fact that he must have named himself. So what kind of person picks satan as their name? Someone who wants to be associated with evil, or someone who wants you to think that he is the devil. Isn't that who SB says she saw that night?

All my opinion only.

There should be a Godwin's Law for JB because he is the answer to EVERYTHING ;)

“The devil led the vilest form of evil down my driveway and it smiled at me before taking Tim away from me”

DM was driving so technically he was the one that took TB away from SB. MS isn't much for smiling whereas DM has been quite a smiley guy in his interviews. I think SB is talking about DM. JMO.

Directly from Molly Hayes e-book:

After dinner, the two potential buyers came by the house and Tim – still in his jeans and work boots – smiled at Sharlene and told her he’d be right back. The guys, one of them tall and broad in a bright orange shirt and the other stockier with a hoodie pulled up over his head, also smiled at Sharlene before climbing into the truck. They rolled out of the driveway.

So who was the stockier one? Both are skinny IMO.

.

MS wore the hoody

.

I wouldn't call MS or DM stocky or even broad. If one was broad and one was stocky I wonder who was there? How would anyone know who wore a hoody? I'm having a hard time placing broad or stocky, as for the hoody I wouldn't hazard a guess.

This is why I don't agree with witnesses being allowed in the courtroom during the case so far without having picked people out from a line up. It's easy to say 'yes that's him' when you have seen him several times in court. I think if a line up was not done at the beginning prior to court dates that any identification of accused should be ruled out. But that's just my opinion and for the lawyers to bring to bear on the court.
