OT: We sent AZL a thank you from Edible Arrangements for her help in understanding all of the legal issues.

Who sent? How did you collect? I didn't hear about this or I would have tried to contribute. Edible arrangements is so good! We have one here…. I love the bananas. Such a nice idea. AZL…. thank you for all of your insights and professional enlightening legal information. It really helps put things into perspective and helps to understand the why's and why not's. Muchly appreciated! And thanks Zuri for doing it!:loveyou::loveyou::loveyou:

I agree, I know we repeat this over and over, but her allocution was bizarre, she stood up there as if she was giving a general presentation of sorts, not in anyway demonstrating any feelings/remorse whatsoever for what she'd done. Difficult for us non psychopathic killers to process, I believe she couldn't sound/be sincere even if she tried, good riddance.

Her demeanor is in stark contrast to Martinez whose passion for justice shows so clearly. And he wasn't a party involved in the actual crime like she was -- whether she wants to say it was self-defense or murder - yet she showed no emotion when supposedly 'begging for her life".

Ok got it. Now why did the DT give JM a #WhoisTony HD?

Maybe they got burned just like the bank statement showing three transactions, and the codes in the magazines. Remember Wilmont and Nurmi looking over the magazines and then asking to approach and Ann Campbell fled the courtroom? If Nurmi or Wilmont took possession of the hard drive from Jodi's pi with out checking to see if it was the same one that was released by the court. I guess they thought the state would just check it in and not pay any attention that it wasn't the same one. So I think yeah, Jodi's screwed them over again. And I think Jodi's pi damaged Travis's hard drive.

They earned the title of being inept. That may follow then the rest of their careers.

Speaking of a certain reporter who will be named by himself in this screenshot, I went looking for the exact tweet where he proliferated this pornhardrivegate mess and found this. Thoughts? A reporter in the courtroom reporting the facts of the trial tweets this:

Great posts and sleuthing during this down time. With that being said, I will be lurking for the most part for the remainder of the week/weekend. Behave yourselves, keep the Alexander family in your prayers, and remember Justice is one day closer than it was. :heartluv:

I think it's a little different when it comes to expert witnesses. I believe they are supposed to be unbiased and just presenting their opinions in their area of expertise. It came across loud and clear when ALV and Samuels were crossed that they had a certain pre-determined outcome they were trying to "force" regardless of the facts. That makes their whole testimony a waste to me. We'll see what happens with this witness when Juan sinks his teeth into her. So far it sounds like more of the same as ALV, twisting everything in a certain direction by (for example) ignoring obvious context. If she is as contentious under cross as ALV, that should tell the jury a lot as to whether she is offering expert opinions or biased, bought-off, scripted "opinions".

I'm very disappointed in these so called experts. My faith in the human race seems to crumble away a bit when I see obvious bias like this. Do people not have a sense of responsibility and honor anymore? How do they live with themselves? How can you feel good and honorable when you search for ways to deliberately deceive people and distort the truth? I understand that they may be against the death penalty, but this isn't the way to fight it. It's like those people who are against abortion and are trying to save lives and go about it by murdering the surgeon performing the procedure. Killing to prevent killing. Little bit of hypocrisy there me thinks. I guess she justifies it in her mind by saying Travis is dead it can't hurt him. This is just so wrong on so many levels.

I too am increasingly frustrated to the point where I'm almost willing to give up the idea of death just to get this over with. However, I know the family wants the death penalty. And I'm hanging in here for that reason alone. They will never proper closure without going through this process. They will be haunted by the 'what if' thoughts. Even if Arias does not get death the family will have the satisfaction of knowing that they did everything they could.

On the issue of DP versus LWOP, LWOP is no piece of cake. I know some of you are worried about Arias being able to adapt and adjust. Actually, she is violent and manipulative. She will have a hard time in prison. But, hey, if she wants to pretend that her gutter of a prison cell is a palace then let her do so. Having to live behind bars for life (regardless of the criminal friends/food and sex she may have in there) = hell on earth. And if we forget about her and focus only on Travis' life then that would really be worse than death for her. At that point she might actually 'beg for the death penalty' and mean it.

The family wants Death, the State wants Death, and so do I! It's what she deserves. All the wait admist the holidays and the frustration of them trashing Travis will be worth it when the Death Penalty is pronounced. Even if it takes years to execute, she'll have much worse conditions than LWOP. Apparently Scott Peterson's not fairing so well on Death Row.

Huh! How would he know how it feels? Just saying.
Regarding the tweet KCL posted on that reporter.

No it wasn't, I think that was to do with scoring data from one of their experts doing a forensic psychological evaluation. It was to be turned over to Dr. Demarte. Separate matter.

I know.I was just pointing out that I saw that in the order and wondered if MCF has any raw data and scoring sheets or if they have another expert. I know Nurmi wanted Janeen Demarte ad Jill Hayes off the states' list of experts. So could this be Cheryl Carp?

Here are 3 pics of Peterson on Death Row. It must be different in SQ because here in AZ Death Row they are not allowed in any enclosures with any other inmates at any time. The only "contact" they ever get is with their guards or any medical personnel if that happens.

Juan made mention of another expert that is to be called. Probably someone to testify to Jodi's mental illness. I don't think Fonseca performed any psychological evaluations. Could be Karp.

Good Lord, I guess he's trying to impress the criminals who think "wow, if he's willing to help Jodi Arias, he will surely help me fight my dwi manslaughter charge!" This is a whole other culture isn't it?

It is, KCL, but since a lot of the info. is coming from the internet and pop media, we don't know to what extent. I will say one thing though: There is a separate, full-blown culture when it comes to criminals and incarceration, and that culture is huge.

Edited to add: the extent of it is a recent discovery for me, and I'm amazed and baffled.

I'll add, it was and still is in a way more shocking that Peterson went from literally a high end golf course (Torrey Pines) to jail then Death Row. It still blows my mind that someone from that kind of privilege will live out the rest of his days in that environment but then again sociopaths don't feel things like normal people do so they adapt pretty well to that life.

Jodi Arias on the other hand is going from living in a room in her grandparents' modest home to Death Row so less of a leap in a way. But the isolation she will get there is what is satisfying, at least to me. Picturing her there, largely forgotten (I attended the Peterson trial on 4 visits and did a lot of writing on it, was very invested in it and I barely think of him EVER, maybe once a year if I see something which tells ME how easy it is to forget these killers) is something that makes sense to me.

That is a very good argument for patience. However, I am afraid that if this goes on too long, especially with many delays, we will lose jurors. It has already been shown how easy it is for a juror to get him or herself dismissed. I think most have a conscience and would not deliberately do something to get kicked but let's face it, these people have lives outside of the courtroom and they probably have plans for the upcoming holidays. And most are not going to want their lives on hold into January/February or even longer. I think they will start dropping like flies.

I wonder if Nurmi is pulling a Baez and having a baby. That stopped court in Florida pretty quickly and was called an emergency. Someone tweeted that both Jaun and Nurmi were smiling coming out of chambers.

BBM:

Well....................maybe JSS was about to become a first-time grandmother, lol, and didn't want to miss being there. Babies are tiny miracles and I have not missed the birth of any of my grandchildren. I had to be there!

That's the only reason I can think of that Juan and Nurmi might have both been smiling coming out of chambers. There's certainly nothing to smile about in this trial/penalty phase. I'm probably wrong!

MOO

Wasn't this a statement by ALV?

Jodi liked to travel, to be on the move. She will not fare as well as many people think she will locked in prison for the rest of her life. None of the stuff that matters to someone as vain as Arias is going to matter in prison. Jodi will die there; I smile every time I think of that.

I just have to point out. Arias liked to travel because Travis did. Prior to meeting him her travel iterinary was rather boring. This speaks to her socipathology than to a general like

I think she did not have the resources for travel prior to meeting Travis. I believe she liked to travel once she got a taste of it.
