So Tuba is missing, and so is gcharlie. I sent her a message the other day, hoping she's back soon. Anyone else disappeared?

Yes, there all several folks missing, especially from the original trial days. A few months ago when I was asking about Linda7NJ, I mentioned that I told my son that if something unfortunate happened to me I want him to post on here how much pleasure I got from being a part of this wonderful forum (adding that I'm sure few people would care but I wanted everyone here to know how much they mean to me).

We've been brought together for such a tragic reason, and as geeky as it might sound, I often enjoy my time as much as I do hanging with my dearest friends.

And for the record, I have a lovely, fulfilling, hobby and friend and family and pet and community service and work filled life, but I find it immensely fulfilling and intellectually and emotionally stimulating to "hang out" with peeps like this group here, who have one major, singularly-focused topic to debate and chat about. Kinda like my book club, yoga class, card club, Vegas Cuisine group, Marketing Association, etc.

In my eulogy some day, I'm certain my son will mention the joy I derived from my membership here at WS....

I deleted post, sorry, I was wrong. I should have known it wasn't true since you smart people weren't talking about it.

Please don't delete your posts! I have seen many opinions here that I do not agree with, however I read every one. I believe that hearing different opinions make us think. Just stick around and post what you think!

Thanks, you're very sweet.

RE the Lunesta/cake thing, it really is the weirdest feeling to know that you did something and know that you didn't.

That's why I never have tried it. I have insomnia, but my neighbor has a few horror stories. Some with Ambien, some with Lunesta. The one that scared me the most was when she went for a drive, but she was really 'sleep walking.' She went through the drive thru at Taco Bell, and was apparently trying to give them a starbucks gift card instead of her ATM card. But they gave her the food, but called the cops cuz they thought she was drunk. The cops arrested her, and she eventually got off, as her blood test showed no ahlcohol, and the Ambien was prescribed legally. LOL

Random thoughts:
1--ring. I think it was probably a lame excuse like she tried it on & it got stuck. I really want to know if he ever got it back.
2--jury questions. I'm dying to know what questions that had for her super secret testimony. Wonder if they'll ever get asked.
3--strategy. So Nurmi is asking the jury to believe DeMarte about the BPD, but not about PTSD or anything else. That makes absolutely no sense to me.
4--hissy fit. I also really wonder what was the true story of her fit. Hysterical that JSS wouldn't delay (for once).

BBM ~ I don't think JA was ever on meds. From what I understand, BPD is triggered when abandonment/isolation occurs. Since she bolted for TA towards the end of her relationship with DB, BPD was probably not triggered. JMO

That makes sense.

Thanx Janx.
I did know that DB was ditched for TA. Not proud to admit I myself dumped a couple of guys for greener pastures and I feel fortunate these "ditchees" remain dear friends to this day. Seems CMJA has had the same good fortune with her exes. Now, had I done what she had done to a "successor", I'm pretty sure my exes wouldn't go on national TV to say what a great gal I once was. Nay (!), I'm most certain they'd be "no comment"-ing, pleading the 5th (or whatever the Canadian equivalent is ).

It amazes me how DB and MM continued to be supportive of her in myriad ways, both on her way to the murder and after the fact. What is/was it about her that compelled either of them to do that?

She had a lot of stuff on them and photos to go with it.

But wasn't she still DUI? it doesn't matter if it's legal or illegal if you're still under the influence and driving.

She can but there's no parole process for lifers anymore...iirc
I have no concern whatsoever that would happen. If the jury doesn't come back with death, JSS will sentence her to Life, no parole, Perryville

Tex Mex I'm with you. I do think this Judge is against the death penalty, but if this jury can't reach a decision then I fully expect her to give Arias 'the rest of her natural life' in prison. I actually like Arizona's 'no parole'. I've had friend's with adult children who got out of prison on parole, and these people too often return to prison because they do things to violate their parole. They don't even have to hire parole officers. PLUS, I believe if you're guilty and did the crime, you should pay the time.

I don't want to think Judge Sherry would give '25 years to life'.

I couldn't believe she thought the female officer was going to loan her a sweater or change the thermostat for her, the prisoner. No goddess. Those days are over

OMG I died when she asked for a sweater...
I have no doubt had Detective Flores been wearing a blazer that day she would have asked him to borrow it. But I think the best was when she brought over the micro recorders to see if he wanted to use them to record their interview. Bless him for keeping a straight face. Oh, and the roll of industrial-grade TP sitting on the table....

Okay, I officially think my obsession level is getting out of hand. 'Pologies for being so verbose here these past three days. I've been on pain meds and I'm both bored and buzzed. Will resume lurk mode when prescription done...

This is not making sense to me: that seems to be an entirely different blogger than the one who was on the Devault jury who also writes for the "Really Mean big Dog" or whatever that site is called. This blogger has a completely different—and much more verbally sophisticated—writing style. We're talking two people, right: Juror 13 and 13th Juror?

I wonder if there is a connection with the diamond ring and her "broken" left ring finger? :waitasec:

I don't remember this being discussed, but probably missed it. It just occurred to me. Why would the DT list PTSD as a mitigator? What possible relevance could it have, even if they could make a case that she suffered from it?

The only relevance I can see is if they were arguing a heat of passion, snapped killing. Which must be what they're suggesting, obliquely.

There's just no case to be made for connecting PTSD and a premeditated, drive 1,000 miles to reach your victim murder.

Her mileage was 3,834 miles, if I remember correctly. Plus, she drove 90 miles to rent that car. So to and from the rental agency would mean another 180 miles to go to on top of that.

I agree about the PTSD. It was silly to try to use that as a mitigation factor! Just....silly.

"I'm taking the 5th" is so much more succinct and understandable than is "Sorry, but I'm invoking the CCRF eleven/c, eh". (ie. Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms, Section 11, c)

You are correct. The blog names are so alike. https://juror13lw.wordpress.com/author/juror13lw/ Thank you so much!!

This one is Paul Sanders for certain-

Ah yes, her magical language to go along with her magical thinking : her art to hang next to Monet and Van Gogh; multiple marriage proposals from Travis
Her magical movement: being spun around more times than the tea cups at Disneyland, body slammed more often than WWF.
Then there’s the magical objects that move magically: the chaotic way pornographic images float to the floor right at her feet; the way her camera falls and then bounces a “few quick bounces” before it rolls; the scratched CD’s that after being thrown by Travis ricocheted off the wall, bounced off edge of the the desk and then hit her head

She actually downplayed the repo of her Infiniti automobile by using her magical language: "gave it back to the bank". Like she was borrowing an item and kindly returning it.

So the "retrial" is now longer than the original trial.
Those poor jurors.

:maddening:

Yes, I believe so. "Kelly/Kellymae" writes "Really Mean Big Dog". Paul Sanders wrote a 13th Juror guest blog for Kelly.

Differend people. Juror13 is Lisa Salinger. The 13th juror is Paul Sander. Really Big Mean Dog is Kelly.

I feel bad that I laughed out load about your friend's story but it was quite funny regarding the Starbucks card at Taco Bell. However, it is truly frightening how these prescribed sleep meds can have such scary effects. I speak from experience.

One of my "lighter" stories. I had a huge Oscars party planned, and one morning I woke up and my entire living room, dining room and kitchen were totally (and quite beautifully) decorated!!! All of my silver and gold Christmas balls and bells and stars and garland (previously stored in the garage) were hanging from tract lights, chandeliers, curtain rods. There were hand cut stars and theatre masks taped to the walls. Three tables were dressed with runners and placemats and my best platters and serving pieces were stacked up and ready to go. And the party was three weeks away! When I woke up the next day, it felt like Christmas morning after Santa had arrived, like in childhood. I was (contemporaneously) mortified and in awe. To be fair (to the pharmaceutical company who makes this drug), there was also an empty bottle of Champagne in the sink, but only my throbbing head recalled the consumption of that).

I could share so many more ridiculous Ambien-inspired stories, but I'm sure you all get the implication of how deeply dangerous this little pill can be if you don't go to bed once you take it. However, if you have a long-delayed project you need done and you have someone to supervise, I recommend you give it a try (JK)
