Juror question: Were any fingerprint obtained from the gun cabinet? It was attempted but they found no usable prints. #JodiArias

I'm feeling a little foggy regarding the remote but I thought there was a phone record from Darryl to JA after she left....she returned to his home after the call and the presumption was he called to tell her she forgot to leave the remote so she went back to do so

Or ... JA may have mistakenly [cough, cough] taken DB's garage remote and had to return to DB's house to return the garage remote and possibly left the DVD remote at the same time, and possibly taken a knife????

Nurmi just showed the witness a photo of the cabinet the gun was stolen from. Several other guns can be seen in the photo.

The other guns, which appeared to be hunting rifles, were "high powered and more lethal correct," Nurmi asked.

"Depending on which ones they are," Friedman replied.

Anyone who is trying to be stealth is not going to bring a giant hunting rifle. They're gonna bring a little gun that fits in their bag and is easy to wield.

This is what is so frustrating about this sentencing phase. We know how it should go, but the reality is the defense is going to re-try the "guilt phase" too. And I am afraid that Juan and the judge are not going to do near enough to stop them from that.

It is frustrating, but we knew it would happen. Given her claims of abuse can be mitigating factors there will be a lot allowed in from the guilt phase because it was such a big part of her defense.

I almost didn't recognize him without his finger up his nose

Except Jodi wanted to be up close. She wasn't hunting him from a distance

Juror question- Were any fingerprints obtained from gun cabinet. We tried and couldn't get anything #JodiArias #3TVArias

Agreed! She wanted him down in the shower so she could happily finish him off there at some point. And then she could just clean him and all evidence off and go on her merry way. Unfortunately, he fought back.

Not only cunning, but depraved planning on her part. Unbelievably meticulous and icy.

Not attacking him when his eyes were closed and he had his back to her would have lulled him into thinking he was safe. It would have made him take down his guard a few notches. Maybe JM will go after this concept.

This is my concern. What happens if these jurors, after hearing from these witnesses, decide that they do not believe that Arias had the third gas can or that the murder was especially cruel?

First, they would be going against their oaths if they tried to redo or undo what another jury of 12 unanimously decided.

They aren't going to do that Rosie.

No one but a monster would think this wasn't a depraved cruel crime. Anyone with even half a brain can see by the autopsy and crime scene photos how heinous and cruel Travis' murder truly was. It was beyond overkill and into the realms of being macabre.

The fact remains she left a paper trail in every state except Arizona. That will not be lost on this jury.

They will know she stealthily entered the state of Arizona because she had premeditated murdering Travis since March 26th and didn't want anyone able to connect her to that state.

If she had returned the gas can that too would have been on the ticket. I am sure every juror there has had some type of dealings with Walmart and know there is always a receipt showing when something is returned.

The jury will get it.

Some think she was having him pose like Janet Leigh in the shower scene in Psycho. The poses are similar.

Nurmi continues to show photos of the house where the gun was "stolen" from. #JodiArias

Good--I'm glad the jury got to see Jodi's new home, after seeing Travis' house.:D

How many times can I thank you all for keeping me up to date. It was a 3 contractor day, and two were asking me crucial details like where I wanted the towel bar, hooks, shower curtain rod! Ah such terrible decisions had me running up and down the stairs, LOL! I'm not picky!

I can't believe the nit-pickery of Nurmi with the Walmart receipts...

Yep, kinda hard to hide a shotgun in your sweatpants.

ETA: Oops forgot the quote--was supposed to be a reply to MeeBee @ #483.:blushing:

A few thoughts after I got caught up..
Nurmi's point on how Jodi had MULTIPLE opportunities to kill him quick and fast without him knowing what was coming so to say. Seriously Nurmi? The opposite of that is that Jodi killed him slow and WAITED until he was AWARE so that the very last moments of his life was that of pure terror at the hands of the woman he trusted and cared for. Ugh, nice mitigation?

Secondly, just a thought of mine. In mock trial juries, does research show that information in these long cases are retained better at the beginning or the end?

Hi Rose
I think JM will cover that. Remember when she stopped to get gas in Utah on the way home. She refilled them (gas was cheaper there than Cali.)
She bought a lot of gas, too much to fit in her tank...plus, besides using different CC's or cash? can't remember, but she did save those "receipts ~ She tried to say all the receipts weren't for gas, but she was at the gas station so late that they ONLY SOLD GAS at that time of morning... Hope this makes sense, I am typing fast and not rereading

She may of been thinking of that movie but like I said I am convinced Travis didn't even know she was there until the one where he is looking so sad and serious in the photo.

I think he thought she had already left and he couldn't wait to get her junk off of him. I think he just stood there sad that he had once again given into the psychopath that just wouldn't let him live his life. He stood there letting the shower run over and over him trying to erase she had ever touched him. :(

JMO though.

Yeah bc everyone puts their laptop in a hamper of dirty clothes and covers it with some of them. /snark

BBM: LOL . . . :hilarious: . . . omg, I remember this from the trial !

I had always thought JA convinced TA to do some poses in the shower stall but ...

Your post made me remember the camera bag and that it was located just outside TA's master bedroom ... I wonder why it was left there / how it got there? And by whom?
