Beth Karas reported that they may be saving thise cases in case the verdict is overturned on appeal. In any case, they do have the civil route to follow as well.

WTAETV is covering this in Pittsburgh, says he will die in jail.
No early out.
But his lawyers will put in for appeal.
So IMO opinion, the Sandusky family will also go bankrupt on lawyer fees.

BELLEFONTE, Pa. — Jerry Sandusky was sentenced Tuesday to at least 30 years in prison — effectively a life sentence — in the child sexual abuse scandal that brought shame to Penn State and led to coach Joe Paterno's downfall.

A defiant Sandusky gave a long, rambling statement in which he denied the allegations and talked about his life in prison and the pain of being away from his family.

The 68-year-old former Penn State assistant coach was found guilty in June of 45 counts of child sexual abuse, convicted of molesting 10 boys over a 15-year period. Witnesses said Sandusky used the charitable organization he founded for troubled children as his personal hunting ground to find and groom boys to become his victims...

In some ways its worse. Sandusky is a delusional, sick paedophile who has no ability to control his own urges. But Curley and Schultz? Where were their brains at least, if not their morals? It doesn't seem to have occurred to them that the boy in the shower wasn't going to stay a child forever - that one day he would grow up and come looking for justice. Nor did it seem to occur to them that he probably wouldn't be alone.
