I get the concept of keeping the thread alive, but is it really fair to other victims that people just "bump" with no info or update at all? There is a reason threads move. If there is legitimate content being added to the thread it will stay to the top.

Since I joined websleuths because of Britt, and I continue to post here because of her, her case is closest to my heart. I bump Britt's thread to the top in hopes of a new member to the forum seeing her name and clicking her thread and having some sort of insight. Many times people don't go through all the threads and they only read the first few before they lose interest.

secretagent, I understand your frustration regarding some cases getting more attention than others.

Britt's case is on the verge of breaking wide open. We suspect the suspects and/or their families read here. Our only goal is to keep the pressure up at this critical time in the investigation and hope that somebody breaks, starts talking and Britt comes home to her family.

The more exposure Britt's case receives, the greater the possibility of a break in the case. The Drexel family has worked their fingers to the bone to locate their missing daughter and bring her home. We are only doing what we can to support that quest.

I am sorry if you feel that we are being insensitive (not your words but my own inference from your post) to other missing persons cases which are ALL important. I can only speak for myself here, but I only follow 3 or 4 cases at a time, otherwise I am overwhelmed with the sadness of it all. I just know that if my daughter were missing, I would hope that there would be some folks who would work diligently to keep her precious face in the public eye.

Can you imagine the day to day exhaustion from trying to work, provide a living and a semblence of normalcy to your existing family in the absence of your 'baby', and all the while searching for answers to her whereabouts to which there seems none? I can't. It is to horrific to imagine!

This is all MOO and I mean no disrespect to you. I just wanted to try to help you to understand our goal and dedication to bring closure to Britt's case.

this young woman's case is important to be me, as she is from NY, and so am I, and I happen to like the Myrtle Beach area, and am rather shocked this happened. I don't see anything wrong or negative about the thread being 'bumped', as some folks, such as me, have an interest, and it can be somewhat challenging finding it. Other cases are important, but this was the case that drew me here, when I came to realize this young woman had not been found, and had been abducted in what appears to be a very populated area of MB. I'm still hoping she's found alive and well.

Fyre and Mendara, Welcome to Brittanee's thread! I'm glad you both have joined us here.

Fyrecat, My heart goes out to you, as a parent myself, I cannot imagine the worry you must be going through as you search for your runaway daughter. Have you thought of beginning a thread here on WS for her? It might help to get the word out and her face in the public eye. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

We here still hold out hope that Brittanee is alive somewhere. However the MBPD has stated in the media and to Britt's parents that the case is now a homicide investigation.
They must have evidence to support this as they have now named suspects in the case, and LEA's nowadays do not name suspects (for legal reasons) unless they have enough evidence to do so. It is sad and disheartening to think Britt is no longer with us in this world but I feel LE must have enough info to link these suspects to her disappearance.

One reason that I feel it has taken so long to make an arrest is that Britt's case spans 3 counties in SC. She was abducted in Myrtle, her cell phone last pinged around the Georgetown Co/Charleston Co line and the suspects live in GT county. (someone please correct me if my account of details is wrong, I just awoke from nap so I'm a bit foggy)

Recently, a respected investigator from SLED joined the investigation. I think this is why the investigation is moving forward, as he has the authority to combine the efforts of the 3 LEA's involved in the case.

Myrtle Beach has recently gained the unfortunate nickname of Murder Beach as crime has risen tremendously as the area has grown these past years. IMO, the MBPD hasn't grown as rapidly as the crimes and the economy in the area which must be frustrating for them. The expanding tourism, brings along beautiful young women and children who vacation there, this makes it a virtual hunting ground for predators and evil doers. This summer alone, I've read of 3 or 4 attempted abductions of women and children there. (RochesterGirl and others, thanks for posting the police reports) For some reason, I think folks feel a false sense of security while on holiday, when actually, visitors should be most vigilant when in a 'foreign' environment.

As all of us parents know, teenagers do lie, regardless of our efforts to stay abreast of their activities . They are under peer pressure, trying to be grown up too soon, too trusting, ect. IMO these factors play into Britt's abduction....I feel Britt was alone, walking down Ocean Blvd., right at dusk and was blindsided by some fiend who seized an opportunity and snatched her.

I hope this helps a bit and this is all MOO and my :twocents:, of course.

Hi friend, just checking on Brittanee. You mentioned the case spans three counties. Myrtle Beach is located in Horry County, just in case you needed this one. I feel a bit encouraged that LE are referring to "suspects" now. I check on Brittanee most everytime I log on.

I don't post on this thread, but I check in on Brit almost every day. I CARE about this girl so very much.

I'm glad they're calling them/him/her a suspect now too. I know they probably want to get all their T's crossed and their I's dotted before they bring charges on this person/persons. While I can understand that, it doesn't really make me much more patient. I want justice for Britt and her family. I want to know what happened to this child and why.

This was posted by BD aunt so im post it here ,,,,

Praying for you Britt <3

mlattta, i see you thanking me! hope you've been well lately. miss your insights.

Dearest Brittanee,

I hoped that today would be the day that your family and us sleuths would have questions answered about whatever happened to you. Maybe tomorrow.........I still keep the faith that we are one day closer to finding you, Sweetheart.

It makes me cry to think that you could be all alone out there somewhere. Your family misses you. Please come home or give us a sign as to your whereabouts. We really want to find you.

Let's all of us here try and have a meeting of the minds these upcoming days and pray for answers for Britt and her family.

LLLindsayy, I love the photo of Britt that you posted. I don't recall seeing that one. Thanks for all you do for Britt's case. You are a good soul!! Keep it up lady!!!!

MOO......wm

Thanks wm!! I was just coming in to see Britt back to page one because we keep losing her! Something needs to break!

I hope to hear some news soon also about Brittanee. People have been quiet for too long since somebody has to know something about this young girl. It is great to see that people are still full of hope like myself. Bless all the caring people in the world. I have read countless forums about this poor girl. The nature of the crime makes it very difficult to investigate I would imagine for LE. I have went over the details numerous times and this case just has me reaching. I guess because the only thing that LE really has to go on is the cell signal and it's location. Think about it, without that, there really would be nothing to go on at all. When people go missing there usually is more evidence to work with. I guess that is the most frustrating part for me. Sorry for not being that helpful. I just can't get this case off my mind for some reason.

Just sort of "wondering out loud" about how long this case is dragging on and on. Wondering what is actually currently going on behind the scenes with regard to the investigation of the disappearance of Brittanee Marie Drexel. I also am wondering what the investigators need the most, short of an actual confession, to bring some answers. Is there any one thing that they need most from the public? Is it money for a more indepth investigation (more manpower, equipment for a physical search of key areas that they have not been able to afford?) Not sure where this "money" could come from other than some sort of fund raisers, which seemed to have come to a halt now. Also, is there anything, "we as the public" can do besides pray, hope and keep the case in the public eye to help move this investigation forward? It appears that making more public, the reward money being offered has not flushed out any tips (at least we have not heard of any tips that came about as a direct result of the reward money.) Perhaps there is a way to make this more widely known (the reward money being offered). How could we help with that aspect? Oh it just came back to me that sort of "indirectly" MLatta and others were asked to 'hold off' on updating fliers to emphasize this reward and actually to hold off on doing any independent searching. So that brings me back to my "wondering out loud". What IS happening behind the scenes since the "indirect request" to hold off on any pubic searching or posting and updating fliers was put "out there". Anybody that can correct me if I am wrong about this "indirect request" to hold off on updating fliers and independent searches, feel free to point me in the correct direction. Don't get me wrong here. I "think" I understand why this request to hold off, either directly or indirectly was made, but just "wishing" we could hear if any progress is currently being made now. All MOO here as usual and I'm finished venting for now. Thanks for "listening".

I read the updates here all the time but seldom post anything, because I can't add or share any optimism in this case...I do not believe that this poor girl is alive and can only hope that those responsible are soon charged and convicted.

Maybe the case showing on "Disappeared" in 10 days will bring about some answers or new clues that LE is waiting for. Too bad the show is not on a network channel, I know that the ID channel is only on certain cable packages and does not get as wide audience...
