"The search continues today in Georgetown County for any clues on the disappearance of a New York teenager.
The search led investigators to Georgetown High School to speak with someone about the case.
The family of 17-year-old Brittanee Drexel are being assisted by the Laura Recovery Center of Texas as they go door-to-door along Powell Road and other areas of North Santee talking to people in hopes of finding out anything about Drexel.
Drexel was last seen on April 25 near the Blue Water Resort in Myrtle Beach.
At about 11:30 this morning, five investigators visited Georgetown High School. Police will not comment on the nature of their visit but other sources told the Times they were speaking to a student who said he knows someone who was with Drexel during the weekend she vanished.
The investigators were with the student for about 30 minutes and then left the school.
It’s unknown what, if any, impact the information will have on the search.
For several days last week, the search shifted from Horry County to Georgetown County because the last trace of her cell phone was detected near the border with Charleston County.
The South Santee River and a seven mile surrounding stretch was searched but nothing was detected to indicate she was ever in the area, although authorities still say they believe her cell phone had been there because it had been detected on a cell tower.
Janice Liggett of the Laura Recovery Center said the team met with law enforcement Tuesday and are canvassing the area handing out fliers today.
“We have no reason to believe she ran away,” Liggett said.
She said if anyone would like to help with the search, they can go to the organization’s Web site — www.lrcs.org — and download fliers to hand out.
Myrtle Beach Police say Drexel could be a runaway or they could possibly be dealing with an abduction case."

yes there are a lot on myspace, but only that one is 20 years old (his age listed on the police report) that places himself in NC
(tho Roc City could be interpreted for Rochester, NY or Rocky Mount, NC)

Ah, thanks, cc81! I had seen John H's MySpace and had not even realized the part about the 'secret'! I think I had just noticed his state of dress (lol) and his bad language!

Ok, so he was in Ca. until April 8th. 29 Palms Marine Base is in California and he is a Marine. He could have been there for special training.

What I would like to know about John H. is when he will be going to another duty station and where. It seems as if he and Brittanee are pretty close. I hope LE checked his phone records as well. Being that close a friend to Brittanee, I doubt that the entire week would go by without him talking to her. Maybe he does know something. Of course I am not meaning he would harm her. How long ago was it that he saw her? I think her mother had stated that Brittanee had hung out with him when he was there last.

I am still thinking more along the lines of Brittanee deciding not to go home. I do hope she realizes that everyone just loves her and wants her to come home and that she would not be in trouble. She did have a fairly big bag with her. Why would she take such a large bag with her if she was going to walk to the boy's hotel and right back? Several things would have fit in the bag, and the girls said she was wanting to go pick up her flip flops. (more to it than that I think)

This is not to say that Brittanee was not picked up by someone or abducted by someone. However, she really may have decided to not go back home to New York, then something did happen to her.

Okay, so maybe I am reaching in this post. I almost deleted it but thought that nothing makes sense here anyway. We simply do not know what has happened to Brittanae. I think one thing we do know is that something is not right.

It might not add up for you. But you said in your original post it was a leap for some of us to think the girs were involved. It's not a leap and very valid to suspect that the girls are involved.

Except B's mom does not believe the boys didn't have something to do with this. LE also doesn't make a habit of letting someone know that they are a suspect before they are arrested.

Was that the recent-ish case from California? Sad to say there are so many like that I'd be hard pressed to remember the names and locations.

There was also the ROTC cadet and her boyfriend that killed the girl her boyfriend cheated with.

Exactly. Which is why I won't rule out any involvement by the girls in this case. You never know with teens today.

maybe she was trying to waste time before a friend/cohort could pick her up? Possibly that friend/cohort could only get away from their normal life when Brittanee was on her walk back to the girls hotel?

If you follow my lil theory above, I can see a teenager sticking around a bunch of B's if she did not have enough money for her own place, not to mention she was too young to rent her own room until a meeting/pick up could be arranged if she were trying to runaway.

I don't know, I'm just trying to keep all avenues open.


I agree, a fire needs to be set under those girls butts and they need to be interrogated some more!! As well as down there helping search!!!! :furious:

I'm back from the vet. Yes, she was pretty much forced to put up with them in order to stay with them. I'm still curious as to whose name the room was registered in. I'm also trying to keep all avenues open.
