Fwiw, I'm local and live just a stones throw from PTL. My wife and info out to eat all the time in murrells inlet. It's 15 or 20 minute drive generally. We don't think twice about going to murrells inlet to eat, then back to myrtle beach to shop or whatever.
As far as video at ptl, I've never seen any there. I was just there this week for the prayer vigil and didn't see any. If there were, they are very well hidden in the trees, which would be odd. There really isn't anything at ptl other than a boat ramp and small parking area at a dead end of the road. I took LEs meaning to be video surveillance in the "general" area...perhaps from an occasional home or something. The swing bridge up on the main Rd near the beginning of peach tree has some cameras but it would seem to me that TM and SM wouldn't go past there coming from home to PTL.
