Good morning everyone.
Just a quick question:
Do we in fact know that SM was arrested at a different place and a later time?
I know that the booking times at JRL are a little less than two hours apart, but here in Horry County that doesn't mean much.
I know of two people that were arrested over simple possession of marijuana charges, and even though they were both arrested and escorted to jail by the same cop, at the same time, there booking times differentiated by almost 3 hours.
It all depends on who is working where that day at the jail, how many people they have to process in, in which order they process in, etc. Sometimes certain inmates have different needs than others; for example needing to see a nurse, or waiting for copies of the warrants to be delivered, some may not be cooperative, therefore having to sit in a holding cell for a bit longer, etc, all of which will affect the time it takes them to be processed into the jail.
Even if everything goes smoothly, two people escorted to jail at the exact same time will have different booking times. Obviously one will be booked in before the other one, a process that can take anywhere from 30 minutes and longer. So even though they showed up at the same time, for the same offense, even if everything goes smooth with the booking process, ones time will be at least 30 minutes later than the other.
At least that is the way that it currently works at the Horry County Department of Corrections (J Ruben Long Detention Center).
I'm just curious as to if we actually know that SM was arrested at a later time, or are we making assumptions based on the booking times?
Thanks for clearing this up for me.
As closely as I am following this case, I am sure there are things I have overlooked or don't recall reading.
