When you’re a sociopathic mfer, it’s what you do.How could a guy simultaneously pre plan this to the extent that its been alleged that he premeditated this by "luring" Maggie to the property, to kill her. Then thought ahead to use 2 weapons to give the impression there were 2 shooters.
Along with pondering a way out of the pickle he was in with the firm for months. And coming up with a plan to kill his wife and son. But not consider the technology. Seriously, he is cunning. He knows how law enforcement works. He knows what cell phones are capable of data logging, he knows on star is tracking him.
How are we supposed to square this?
The best coverage! I fell asleep listening to a week's worth of these recaps last night. It's Drew's live trial blog-- which is as good as a transcript, that I've been posting in the MEDIA ONLY thread.
Hopefully AM can point out the location where the weapons are stashed then tossed back into the cage on wheels. I'm sure if let out to follow around under guard he would go into some kind of oh pity me crying mode and do all to show how traumatic it is coming back to the scene of...where he killed them both.Seriously though, how would they do this? Have him locked in his transport van? Wrist and ankle shackles? His attorneys would never allow this. They have to secure him somehow. Maybe shock devices?
Thanks! Did you see that I did an edit and added that the article stated that Maggie had named her sister as executor of her estate. Her name was crossed out, and Alex‘s fathers name was hand written in. MP was unaware that she was executor or that the change had taken place. They asked her to sign documents making John Marvin the executor. I can understand her agreeing to that because of the lawsuits, but certainly seems unsavory to do it without asking her. Moo
The jury will see that the land is sloped between the house and the kennels. They'll also see that Maggie could see Paul from where she was shot, before she died.
Sure was and DB was off the rails most of the time with his court antics.Darrell Brooks is the most recent one I can remember
Are the closing arguments tomorrow afternoon after the property visit?I'm so glad it's over, except for the field trip and closing arguments. I had such a hard time focusing today.
Maggie and Paul Murdaugh are still buried in temporary graves almost two years after they were brutally murdered in cold blood outside the dog kennels at their home.
The wife and son of Alex Murdaugh are buried together at the Hampton Cemetery in South Carolina, just a 30-minute drive from the Colleton County Courthouse where Alex is currently being tried for their double murder.
A cemetery worker told a Post photographer the headstones for Maggie, 52, and Paul, 22, are still delayed but didn’t specify what that meant.
Photos show the graves surrounded by dead leaves and some fake flowers.

Murdaugh family still buried in temporary graves almost two years after slayings
Recalling this topic in prior threads where it was said no headstone was intentional due to the extensive trial coverage, and the family did not want want to have to deal with TikTok and/or vandals.
Initially, I was upset by the temporary markers but I've seen some crazy TikTok invasions lately and I can respect this. JMO
Seems like the Murdaugh assets were drying up at around the same time as funeral. Perhaps no one was around to take financial responsibility and see the project through.
IMO.
Although @Seattle1 has a better theory, above. Many families would go ahead and put the stones in, though, as people are bound to show up anyway. It's a form of tribute to the victims.

Thanks to everyone for the posts, past and current.
Am trying to read and catch up, but it's an enormous task.
My question in much of this trial and in other murder cases : Who has the most to gain or lose ?
Also ; did AM in some remote corner of his mind think that a random stranger would be blamed and he would resume his past life, sans wife and son ?
Was it possible he planned to kill Buster as well ?
Imo ; If I were Buster -- that would greatly influence my testimony towards AM in this trial !

I would think the taxpayers and the family of Maggie and Paul have the most to lose if the verdict comes in as not guilty or a hung jury since they are the ones paying for this and the family has no closure on the death of their loved ones. Alex is probably going to prison for the rest of his life even if he’s found not guilty of murder because of the 10 million other crimes he’s openly admitted to in court. Thanks to everyone for the posts, past and current.

Could be a verdict soon
- Closing arguments tomorrow. Jury deliberations could also start as early as tomorrow, though it seems more likely they will begin Thursday morning.
- Judge Newman: Court will resume at 11 a.m. tomorrow when the jurors return from Moselle.
Speaking of real estate, this is from October 2022
A Beaufort County island co-owned by disgraced and disbarred South Carolina attorney Richard “Alex” Murdaugh and a deceased drug-smuggling suspect is up for sale, pending court approval.
Jailed in Richland County and facing more than 90 criminal charges and 11 lawsuits, Murdaugh has had his assets placed under the control of court-appointed attorneys known as receivers who are tasked with identifying assets and potentially liquidating them to create a settlement fund for alleged victims.
Amy Hill, attorney for co-receivers Peter McCoy Jr. and John Lay Jr., filed a “motion for court consideration and approval of the sale of real estate" on Sept. 20 before Judge Daniel Hall in Hampton County Court of Common Pleas.
This property that's for sale, known as “Island A,” is a 22-acre island that is the largest in the three Cherry Knoll Hill Islands, also called the “Williams Islands,” located off the coast of Beaufort, according to the court filing.
It's accessible only by boat and only during certain tides. It has a dock that suffered hurricane damage long before the approach of Ian that's not considered useable.
Islands co-owned by Murdaugh and deceased drug-smuggling suspect
The island for sale is 50% owned by Murdaugh through Murdaugh Holdings and 50% owned by the Estate of Barrett Boulware, according to the court filing.
According to another filing on Sept. 1 by the co-receivers in Hampton County Court of Common Pleas, Murdaugh owns at least seven islands in and around Beaufort County ranging in size from 20.05 acres to .08 acres — all either directly as a co-owner with Boulware or as co-owner through an entity or joint venture.
